2007-04-29 04:15:00 Crowder became the 2nd DE taken by the Broncos at #56Tim Crowder is a guy that made me nervous, nervous that Denver would attempt to address their pass rush issues in the first round with such a player. Thankfully, they saw him for his true value. Crowder is a very technically sound defensive end that understands leverage and hand placement better than most ends in this draft. During the season, some scouts felt that Crowder should bulk up to play as a 4-3 tackle or 3-4 defensive end, since he was so good at gap control and shedding blockers. However, Crowder's stock too off after impressing scouts with "new found" pass rush at the Senior Bowl, and test very well at the combine, running under a 4.7 and bench pressing 225 lbs. 32 times. Some teams talked him up as a 3-4 edge rusher. It's safe to say that thoughts of moving Crowder anywhere other than 4-3 end will now be tabled.
