Tim Gunn Was Blown Away By Victoria Beckham
2008-05-24 15:21:00
Fashion guru Tim Gunn, a mentor on reality show Project Runway, was recently asked what he thought of Victoria Beckham in an interview and here is his response:I?d only seen pictures of her looking inscrutable. I?d never even seen an interview with her but I was blown away by how articulate she is about fashion. She really understands textiles, length, proportion and fit and she can talk about them all passionately. There was more depth there than I expected. She?s a very thoughtful individual. It sounds like he was not expecting much from Victoria, and I am glad she managed to blow him away.Source

Tim Gunn Rejects Britney Spears? Human Status
2008-01-13 22:29:00
Here's Britney out to lunch with the man of her current dreams, paparazzo Adnan Ghalib. She's clutching those puppies like PETA is waiting around the corner to snatch them away and give them to Kevin Federline at any random moment. Tim Gunn was recently asked if he would be willing to give Britney a makeover, and he certainly isn't interested. "I would refuse," the fashion guru said, "There is no amount of money and I'll tell you why: I can't want you to succeed more than you do. And it's obvious that she doesn't want to succeed. I think of her right now as being in exile from the human race and she needs major, major help..." Even if he won't (understandably) offer his impeccable style advice, at least Tim Gunn isn't trying to con Britney into showing up on his TV show, "Tim Gunn's Guide to Style." Kind of refreshing after the whole Dr. Phil debacle. And who does Tim think mommies should emulate? Find out after the jump. Photos: Flynet Onilne 12 more photos of Br...
Tim Gunn Would Turn Away Britney Spears
2008-01-13 18:05:00
In case you haven’t heard, Britney Spears is a pretty big mess these days. So, would Tim Gunn help make her over? “I would refuse,” he recently told People magazine “There is no amount of money and I’ll tell you why: I can’t want you to succeed more than you do. And it’s obvious that she doesn’t...
The Tim Gunn of perfumery
2007-12-23 00:22:00
I have paid attention to fragrances my whole life, and I smell scents every day. Part is just gut instinct. And part is ... I really don't know. But I know how much of the raw material should be in there, I know if there needs to be a more sophisticated balance. I can almost see it. If it's a spicy fragrance, I can tell if there's too much cinnamon. ? Tim Gunn Would Be So Disappointed in Me.
2007-11-22 20:58:00
We are going to my in-laws for Thanksgiving dinner soon. I have debated all day on what to wear. What would Tim Gunn say? I know what he would say- the sweatsuit alternative, that comfortable yet stylish outfit every woman should have in her closet to be worn on a day you might normally throw on sweats. Ahh Tim, my love, I’m afraid you’ll be so ashamed of me today. My in-laws like to cook, and they do it well. And there will be food. Tons and tons of food. Waistbands will strain to the point of the snaps begging for mercy. Bellies will swell, and at the end of it all, we’ll collapse onto the couch like a bunch of bloated turkeys ourselves. Forgive me Tim, just for today, only sweats will do.

Tim Gunn Better Bust Out Some Help-Wanted Signs
2007-04-05 16:09:00
The auditions for the upcoming season of "Project Runway" were a "disaster." Production staff members were sent into a frenzy after lines at the Standard Hotel had a "record low turn out," leaving the staff running around, desperately trying to get info on designers with clout. The audition turned into a recruitment. A round of the blame game immediately ensued, and theories were quickly formed as to why there was a lack of interest in joining the show. Some of the finger-pointing involved pointing out the ill feelings felt by contestants for one of the judges for the casting session, Jeffrey Sebelia. However, the show must go on and the new season is still set to air this summer. My guess is that the designing hopefuls out there would rather not be reduced to cranking out clothes for a trashy and pretentious children's doll for the sake of some TV time.
In Which Tim Gunn Discovers Stockings

Is anyone else seeing Warhol? Tim Gunn at Tracy Reese.Photo: Patrick McMullan Everyone's favorite fashion mentor, Tim Gunn, just added more of his favorite fall shows to his fashion album. He gave Tracy Reese and Diane von Furstenberg "two big wows!" He loved Reese's design sensibility and her hosiery and shoes. "When have I ever waxed poetic about a stocking? Never, until now!" And DVF's collection was "drop-dead elegance." Gunn was floored by the metallics and prints and pondered the question: "Can any designer be more divine?" Look at Tim's album. Tim Gunn prepares to pass fashion judgment.Photo: Getty Images In between tying up loose ends at Parsons, prepping for his new job as CEO of Liz Claiborne, and checking out the shows, Tim Gunn took time to pick his favorite menswear looks. He found John Bartlett's collection perfect for "the prepster hipster" and thought Perry Ellis paraded some of the best knitwear on the runway, along with "seductive and compelling" outwear. What else did Tim like? Check out his fashion album. Look at Tim's album. Make your own fashion album.
Tim Gunn Thinks Michael Knight Needs to Get Out of Atlanta

Tim Gunn at Perry Ellis yesterday.Photo: Patrick McMullan We’re glad Bravo resisted the urge to overexpose Project Runway, but it’s killing us not to have a Bryant Park show to make bets on. So we found the next best thing: Tim Gunn, in the front row of the Heart Truth show.Didn’t you get the memo? You’re supposed to be wearing red. I don’t know that I have any red in my wardrobe! Maybe I have to fix it. I saw the John Barlett show. There was a wonderful cardigan with red piping. I’ll talk to John. You have a new job at Liz Claiborne. Will you still be on Project Runway? Yeah! That’s part of the requirement. My requirement. I said to Bill McComb, if I can’t keep doing these things that are such incredible fun for me, then I wouldn’t want to do that. Are any Project Runway alums showing this season? Milan is showing. Have you heard about Jay McCarroll? Is he showing? He showed in the fall — it was great. But then why...
Tim Gunn might?ve left Parsons, but Project Runway hasn?t
2007-02-03 02:56:02
Tim Gunn is leaving Parsons, but "Project Runway" is not. Parsons The New School of Design at Seventh Avenue and 40th Street will continue as home base for "Runway" when the fourth season kicks off later this year, sources said yesterday. The question of whether Parsons would remain in its "star- ring" role on "Runway" arose following the news that Gunn, the designers’ mentor on the Bravo reality show, has taken a new job at Liz Claiborne Inc., as The Post’s Page Six reported yesterday. Gunn had been chairman of Parsons’ fashion design department. Meanwhile, negotiations between Gunn and The Weinstein Company, which produces "Runway" for Bravo, are continuing. "[The company] is very confident that he’ll be back for the fourth season," officials said. Page Six I guess the rumors that the show was moving to LA were just that.
Tim Gunn gets a new job.
2007-02-01 20:53:02
THIS explains why style maven Tim Gunn has not yet signed on for the new season of "Project Runway" - he’s been lining up a new job. Expect an announcement today from Liz Claiborne Inc. that Gunn, 53, is joining the firm as chief creative officer, The Post’s Adam Buckman has learned. That means Gunn is leaving Parsons The New School for Design, where he’s been chairman of the fashion design department since 2000 (and with Parsons for 23 years). Sources said his new job, set to start in March, will not prevent him from participating in "Runway" season No. 4. Page Six I think that until we see the press release from Bravo saying he is back for season 4, we can’t believe he is doing the show.

Can?t get enough Tim Gunn on Project Runway? That won?t be a problem in 2007, with a new Tim Gunn show in the works.
