Scarborough Lair
2008-06-05 13:33:00
NBC czar Jeff Zucker zaps MSNBC's Joe Scarborough as a "space filler". Like the Academy Awards no-name seat fillers for stars' cocaine breaks. Well, what Zucker REALLY said in a puffy Jacques Steinberg NYT piece today: ?It?s probably a little unfair to call Joe a ?space filler''. The three hours of hard-core political chat (often laced with humor) that Mr. Scarborough and his co-hosts, Mika Brzezinski and Willie Geist, put on each day is unlike anything else on morning television. Little wonder that every major presidential candidate has made at least one stop at Mr. Scarborough?s desk since fall ? including Hillary Rodham Clinton, whose husband Mr. Scarborough voted to impeach ? and that throughout the broadcast Mr. Scarborough?s Blackberry continuously vibrates with e-mail messages from the candidates? surrogates. [Sending a Chris Matthews thrill up Joe's third leg?]?Scarborough is a crazy right-winger, and Mika?s in the bag for Obama,? said Jay Dunn, an adviser to [Terry] Mc...

Burgundy: "In 1989 I heard you say 'The Dow Jones just took a fist up the butthole today'... I took a crap on your lawn." Funny Or Die videoWhy Brokaw agreed to do this is beyond me...

50 Superdelegates Set to Endorse Obama
2008-03-06 07:48:00
According to the Huffington Post, the co-chair of Obama?s campaign in Missouri has said that Obama will be going public with the support of 50 new superdelegates. These are delegates that were previously ?uncommitted? to a particular candidate. Rep. Lacy Clay (D-Missouri) said that, ?(Sen. Clinton) will not make up those numbers. This race is over.? Tom Brokaw made a television appearance on Wednesday morning in which he said someone "very close to the Obama campaign" said they had 50 superdelegates ready to announce. Brokaw said that they were ready to go public with those numbers in the near future. According to RealClearPolitics.com, Obama has 1366 pledged delegates and Clinton has 1222. Clinton has 242 superdelegates and Obama has 207 superdelegates at the moment. 50 additional superdelegates would give Obama the lead among superdelegates along with his pledged delegate lead. This 50 superdelegate addition to Obama?s total would give Obama a lead...

Will Ferrell pokes fun at Tom Brokaw

Obama: "I can't tell who I'm running against sometimes" (Bill or Hillary)
2008-01-22 10:01:00
Monday night?s Democratic debate in South Carolina was arguably the most heated debate between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Fiscal responsibility, Ronald Reagan, and the personal pasts of the candidates were the topics of the exchanges between Clinton and Obama. Hillary Clinton started things off by questioning Obama?s fiscal plans for an Obama administration in which she claims he does not account for how his programs would be paid for. Obama fired back by saying that this is another distortion of the facts by Clinton and her husband former President Bill Clinton. President Clinton has been the attack dog of the Clinton campaign lashing out against Obama from state to state. Monday?s debate brought those issues out in the open for everyone to see. Obama addressed Bill Clinton?s ?fairytale? type view that the media gives Obama for his views on the Iraq prior to the invasion. Senator Clinton had her time to respond and went on to say that Obama was talking up the ?good i...
Boom...or Bust?

Famous news reporter Tom Brokaw wrote another book that got published a few months ago: Boom! Voices of the Sixties Personal Reflections on the '60s and Today. You may recall that Brokaw wrote a book about the 40s a few years ago called The Greatest Generation. This one is a colection of stories from people, both famous and non-famous, about their experiences during one of the most favorite and famous eras of the 20th century. I haven't read the book yet, but the problem is I can't imagine it's terribly exciting with Brokaw at the helm. I have nothing against the guy, but I don't think there's ever been a stiffer stuffed shirt in the media biz. Brokaw went on Ellen Degeneres' show a few months ago to talk about the book and what the sixties were like for him. It was so boring. I was so hoping Ellen would've asked him, "Tom, do you remember the first time you dropped acid? When did you smoke your first joint?" I mean this was the 60s, after all. That would've thrown him for ...

Donald Trump denies leaving a 10 grand tip at a California restaurant. Donald claims the restaurant doctored the $82 receipt. NYP Page Six It just doesn't make sense that the restaurant would do this knowing they'd get busted straight away. Donald hasn't been in the press lately. I think the media whore deliberately did it himself to get press. Did you notice that Fox News anchorbabe Uma Pemmaraju hasn't graced the anchor desk since late October? Why? Simple. Jellin' Ellen

Tom Brokaw goes on Ellen DeGeneres pimping his BOOM! book and ends up dancing. Germaphobe Howie "Don't even think about shaking my hand" Mandel shows Ellen how he stands sideways to look thinner. Is he gay? CNN's Anderson Cooper and Ellen ignore the elephant in the room dancing around the gay thing on today's show. So much fun. So little time... "Spontaneity is very important to Ellen. That's why she doesn't like to do too much advance planning for her shows." Even with writers her show sucks. That flap over the dog adoption proves the woman's wacko.

It's evident liberal Tom Brokaw pimping his boomer book has a problem with talk radio and guys like Rush Limbaugh (whom Brokaw has skewered). Brokaw on Laura Ingraham's Monday radio show: "The problem with talk radio is they only want to hear one note... they mock anyone else?s point of view, and they do it often in a mindless fashion." Read the transcript here and listen to audio at NewsBusters. Brokaw has a short memory about his own liberal bias.

Tom Brokaw: "Katie, God bless her, was the first woman to go out there and become a solo anchor. It's not worked out as well as she would have liked it to. That's the result of a combination of issues. [But] we have female ceos, females in the Senate and a prominent female running for President. I think the country was ready for a female anchor. I don't think this was a gender thing." TIME mag I agree with Tom. Katie's clicking stiletto diva reputation is coming back to haunt her. Miz Katie's unpopularity has nothing to do with her sex and everything to do with her fear-driven narcissism. Tom's quaint 1970s advice to Tee Vee news wannabes: "Get a broad base of education. I'm not a big fan of journalism schools except those that are organized around a liberal arts education. Have an understanding of history, economics and political science?and biology, these days?and then learn to write." Tom, Tom, Tom.
