Position analysis: Offensive line
2007-08-22 01:54:00 Our position by position analysis continues today with the offensive line. This the fifth in a nine part series leading up to final roster cutdowns. So who's going to make the team and who's not? Take a look and see...Chad Clifton - The team's best pass blocker has done a good job of protecting Brett Favre's backside for several seasons. Age is starting to creep up on Clifton (pictured), though. His knees give him problems and don't forget about that devestating hit put on Clifton by Warren Sapp that fractured his hip. Expect Clifton to play first through fourth quarter come opening day.Daryn Colledge - Colledge is not only the team's starting left guard, but he's also the top backup at left tackle should something happen to Clifton. And tight end Clark Harris was absent for practice, but the reason for his absence is unknown."(Head coach Mike) McCarthy said he was not sure why defensive end DeVon Hic...
Eat! You're skin and bones!
2007-07-18 16:20:00 Could a handful of offensive linemen be in the coach's doghouse before training camp even begins?According to Paker Update, "Coach Mike McCarthy is a little disappointed that second-year offensive linemen Daryn Colledge and Tony Moll were unable to pack on much weight during the offseason. While both players reduced their body fat, neither came anywhere close to gaining the prescribed 10 pounds."I bet a couple trips to Cold Stone Creamery would do the trick. |
