What Michael Vick, The Traveling Wilbury's and Antipsychotics Have In Commo
2009-02-26 23:43:00
I know I'm not supposed to acknowledge my internet absence, I'm not supposed to make excuses as to why I'm not posting or responding, I'm just supposed to write. Right?Well, suck it. I present to you a list of possible reasons I've not been posting, and those that guess correctly win a shot of Haldol in the butt next time they're admitted to my psych unit.Bill Clinton has taken up residence in my living room and won't stop whining about how everyone likes Hilary more than him. When I suggested that it's because Hilary knows how to keep her dick in her pants he just cries louder. (Wow, that was offensive, huh?) Anyway, the louder Bill weeps, the less likely I am to be able to sit at the computer.I discovered my husband's illicit affair with The Traveling Wilburys. Not only am I completely betrayed and devastated, but also pretty grossed out, since I think one of them is dead. Ewwww.My neighbor Micheal Vick broke out of his . . . um . . . federally provided accommodati...

Recreational Vehicle: Style Of Traveling

“There’s nothing like home!” We don?t even have an iota of doubt that most of us always want to experience home-like comfort wherever we go. Traveling Encounters will meet at a new travel site!
2008-11-05 02:25:00
New "mixed" Dating sites appear in the market. They combine social networking and dating aspects. For example, Eros Partners, LLC launched the first dating website focused on business travelers. "There are many professionals, especially those driven to succeed, who have a difficult time establishing and maintaining relationships due to heavy business travel schedules," says AK Brennan, President of Eros Partners, LLC. "Spending the majority of each week on the road for business is a professional requirement that hampers a personal life." TravelingEncounters.com allows business travelers to create a single profile in their home city and then calendar up to four planned trips at a time. Each time a trip is planned, a new view of the member's profile is created in the destination city. Locals, as well as other travelers to that city, are able to view and communicate with each other to create social contacts. As a grand opening special, it is giving free full memberships, which are va...
Plans for R&R and Some Thoughts on Traveling
2008-10-27 05:54:00
The hubby and I were thrilled to have met with old friends last Saturday. It has been a while since we last saw this wonderful family, December of last year to be exact. One of the things we talked about was traveling in February. They were able to get hold of one of our local airline’s promo packages and you wouldn’t believe how much they got it for! A thousand bucks, roundtrip air tickets for the whole family! That is such a steal! What did you know, I did not waste a minute and hurried to the site, just in case the promo was still available. Too bad, it was not anymore. It would have been fun gracing the island of Boracay once again, this time, with dear friends. We had our honeymoon there in 2001 and it was so long ago that we have to go! Even my mother asked me this morning via YM if we will ever push through to fly to Singapore anytime before the year ends and honestly I have got no concrete answer to that just now.   I know I could make use of one of those ai...

"Lets rememberwho we are.each momentis another opportunityto draw closer."- Stewart Bitkoff"As our society moves forward in its study and growing understanding of different spiritual paths, one of the things required is a dialogue concerning the nature of personal enlightenment. Or said another way, after studying a particular spiritual path, for the average traveler, what does personal spiritual development look like?"- Enlightenment: An Initial Discussion. following is part 2 of the dialogue with author and educator Dr. Stewart Bitkoff. It was conducted on early October, 2008. the first part can be read here. Tell us something about the nature of this initiation with regard to the path, ...

Peter Pepper's Traveling All-Stars
2008-09-26 18:02:00
So hey, haven't been around here much lately. Sorry! Busy busy. Work, non-work, and then BurgerTime. When I was a kid, I loved video game arcades, even though I sucked horribly at pretty much every game -- forget getting to the second level of Donkey Kong, I just wanted to get past three barrels without dying. But I found them pretty magical, and if you had told age-10 me that age-35 me would be friends with someone who had several coin-op video games in his house, I would have figured that I'd be hanging out with the Prince of Monaco or something at age 35.I don't think ICJ is the Prince of Monaco (speak up if you are, though!), but every time I visit him back in Colorado, I get a bit of that amazement back. And the suckiness, too, because I'm still awful at Tempest. So ICJ was the logical person to go to when I felt the need, the craving, for an authentic BurgerTime (or Burger Time, or Burgertime) experience this past week. If you never played it, in BT, you're Peter Pepper, wh...

Might be a bit spotty on posts and comments for a bit until I get settled in, so be patient.Do me a favor and post interesting stuff here and in BubbleTalk for the next few days. There's been a few things in the news lately deserving of their own posts but are being covered nicely in the comments, like Ed McMahon owing Countrywide Toxic Mortgage over $500,000 and losing his home (how the hell does Ed McMahon go Casey Serin on us?). And the NAR losing their monopoly on the MLS. Nice to see the HP community picking up the slack...

Traveling in Cancun, Mexico
2008-06-03 00:45:00
Cancun is located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean in Mexico's easternmost state which is called Quintana Roo. This state is located on the Yucatan Peninsula and is most well known as the Mexican Caribbean. However, it does not share a similar climate with the Mediterranean. Cancun is of course one of the most well known tourist spots on the face of the earth. The center of this most popular city is located on the mainland which connects over two lagoons known as the Nichupte and the Bojorquez. There is a much older section of the city which is called the El Centro; it houses super blocks that are formed by intersections and traffic circles. Here in this part of the city you can find market places like the Xel Ha.Cancun is not just known for its great beaches but for its many other tourist attractions as well. Cancun comes equipped with parks, green spaces, pedestrian walkways, and an assortment of national and historical monuments. There are hardly any buildings in this tropical...
Traveling for work
2008-06-02 20:30:00
On Friday I'm headed back to the island on a work trip. By working on Saturday, I should earn 14 extra hours on my pay cheque (it's going to be a long day). 8 of those hours will be regular time, 4 hours will be 1.5x, and 2 hours will be at 2x. Awesome! Although it would be more awesome if my raise would get processed.Because I'm coming back to Vancouver at a different time than the rest of my co-workers on Sunday (I've volunteered to help out my field hockey team raise money at a concession all day), apparently they won't pay for me to park my vehicle at the ferry terminal ($9 for each 24 hours ... plus mileage to and from the terminal), or pay for my travel costs/travel time on Sunday. Because I'm choosing not to travel with them, nothing gets paid for? I don't get it. Either way I have to come back to Vancouver ... what difference does it make if I go with them or by myself? Maybe I can see them not reimbursing me for my parking costs and mileage to and from the ferry term...
Natalie Portman And Her Man Are Still Traveling The Globe
2008-05-31 01:59:00
Fueled by love, it seems that Natalie Portman and Devendra Banhart are still traveling the world with each other. The couple were spotted in Jaffa, Israel after leaving Cannes where Natalie served as part of the film festival's jury. I swear, this guy always has something crazy going on with his clothes, and I don't mean Bai Ling crazy. First it was the Ronald McDonald shoes. Now it's these 70s-style short-shorts. I'm trying really really hard to give this guy the benefit of the doubt. I sincerely hope he is a good person deep down inside with a gleaming personality, because seeing him in those damn-near hotpants makes me want to gag. No one wants to see that! No one wants to see Natalie Portman with that! Photos: BauerGriffinOnline More photos of Natalie Portman with boyfriend Devendra Banhart are after the jump.

What you should know about traveling with your pet
2008-05-27 17:21:00
Planning and Preparation Planning and preparation are necessary when traveling with family pets. Consider whether your pet is comfortable when traveling. Some animals, like some people, function better in familiar surroundings. A car-sick animal can make a trip miserable for everyone. Some dogs and cats cannot withstand the rigors of travel due to illness, injury, or temperament. If this is the case, discuss options such as using a reliable pet-sitter or a clean, well-managed boarding facility with your veterinarian. If you will be staying with friends along the way, be considerate. Find out in advance if the pet is welcome. The same goes for hotels, motels, parks, and campgrounds. Always check whether pets are allowed or kennel facilities are available. If the pet must be left alone in a hotel room, place a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door and inform the maid and the front desk. Consider bringing along a portable kennel for use in hotel rooms or the homes of friends or relatives w...

Traveling into the Unknown
2008-05-25 16:14:00
Travel, adventure or seeing the sights is very satisfying human activity. Ideas and those who hatch them tend to leave behind things large or attractive enough to ogle. So you may go to a place of great historic value and find something new.Best is traveling into the unknown. It is satisfying when you get ?there? and find signs, plaques, remnants of crumbling columns, and a long view of history. And wise is to get travel insurance before you leave home for know or ?unknown? destinations. See what is Over 65 Travel Insurance and how can you they help you travel more satisfied.Cover My Travels offers "Over 65 travel insurance" policies for single trips up to the age of 79 (not having reached their 80th birthday on the date insurance is obtained) and for Annual Multi Trip policies, cover can be provided for those aged up to 69 (not having reached their 70th birthday on the date the insurance is obtained). Traveling by Horse In a World Dominated by the Automoblie
2008-05-22 22:54:00
For a horsemen to travel on highways designed for automobiles, both horse and rider must trust one another. As motorists whiz by, Bill continues along at a crawl, watching for broken glass, holes, road kill, and anything else which may become a danger. When a problem becomes visible, Bill must decide which action to take. If there is road kill up ahead, he may decide to stop and wait for an open spot in the traffic so that he can cross over to the median. If a vehicle with a flapping bag passes, Bill must take action and kick Blackie up into a trot, so the horse doesn't have time to panic. Usually the most dangerous situation is the one you don't see coming. These are the situations where trust plays the biggest role. There's a decent amount of room in this scene, but on highways where the guardrail is closer to the pavement, there isn't any room for mistakes or second guesses. 05-10-08 read more
