Disco Demolition Trivia Question
2009-07-13 04:00:00 This is one of the greatest questions I've ever seen anywhere. It's courtesy of "Tommy John" no not the pitcher at White Sox Interactive.comWho is the only player to have participated in three 'forfeit' games?Answer:Rusty Torres of the White Sox was in the lineup during game #1 on Disco Demolition night, he also played for the Indians on Ten Cent Beer Night. He also played for the Yankees on September 30, 1971 - the night the Senators' final game in Washington was forfeited because fans swarmed the playing field. There were three forfeits in the majors in the 1970s due to fan riots-and Rusty Torres was there for all three of them! Now what are the odds of that?...

Trivia Tuesday: Baseball Edition
2009-05-26 13:48:00 Since I attended two Nationals-Pirates games last week (and missed trivia night), I figured I would have a baseball-themed Trivia Tuesday. Think you know baseball? Try your luck on the rules of the game.True or False1. Runner on second, two out. Trivia Tuesday
2009-05-05 16:28:00 Welcome to a brand new Trivia Tuesday! This week I present nine questions that supposedly are not trick questions. Trivia Tuesday
2009-04-21 18:20:00 I?m addicted. This is what I did this past weekend: worked as a soccer referee, watched games two and three of the Penguins-Flyers series, unsuccessfully tried to organize bills and statements from the past 5+ years and spent hours on Sporcle.com. (I guess I probably ate and slept too.) What an amazing website! Therefore, for this week?s Trivia Tuesday, I again present two quizzes from Sporcle.Quiz #1: Name the sitcom cities. You know where Seinfeld took place but what about Mr. Belvedere? I scored a 17 of 28.Quiz #2: Name the starting NFL quarterbacks from Tecmo 1991. I scored a 19 of 28. Just based on his name (if he still goes by this handle), Tecmo of PSAMP better try this one! Please share your results in the comments section. Good luck!

2009-04-14 15:41:00 A few programming notes before Trivia Tuesday. First, today is the official release day of Beyond Heaving Bosoms: The Smart Bitches' Guide to Romance Novels. For more information about the book, check out my interview with author (and friend) Sarah Wendell, Sarah and co-author Candy Tan?s interview on NPR and where you can buy the book from the Smart Bitches website.Next, I want to congratulate lacips of This Is Getting Old for winning the Rock of Love 3 Fantasy League. He made a shrewd move (even if he didn't know it) by selecting Taya and not Mindy on Sunday's finale. I finished in second place because I chose both of the finalists, but lost 25 points when Mindy was eliminated. That was the difference to give laclips the victory. In case you're wondering, I am not organizing a Daisy of Love Fantasy League!Trivia Tuesday is slightly different this week. No Trivia Tuesday
2009-03-31 18:33:00 Have you ever had a song stuck in your head that you couldn?t get rid of? This happens to me occasionally, but one particular song has been stuck there for days. More on this momentarily. So, I apologize for the lack of Trivia Tuesday this week, but I have a very good reason. We tried something new last week and went to music trivia at Black Finn in Bethesda. The idea was terrific; they have three rounds of 12 songs each, play about 30-45 seconds of a song and you need to provide the artist and song title. However, the execution was poor. There are certain fundamental requirements in a trivia game. You need to be told the correct answers after it's over. You need to be told how well or poorly you did. And you need to be told how close you came to winning. Music trivia failed on all three accounts. The only thing they did was actually have questions, but for all we know, the thing was fixed. After the first round, we were handed back our answer sheet and told that we won....
