As some of you know, we've been voting here on the Bloguin Network for our pick as to we think will win the Heisman Trophy. While our final vote won't be revealed until Friday, we know now who will be in New York City on Saturday night for the presentation of the 77th annual Heisman Trophy. The five finalists in alphabetical order are: Montee Ball, RB - Wisconsin Robert Griffin III, QB - Baylor Andrew Luck, QB - Stanford Tyrann Mathieu, DB - LSU Trent Richardson, RB - Alabama Luck is the only repeat finalist from last year. I'm pretty sure I love college football. I regularly spend Saturdays tuned in from late-morning Big Ten games till the late-night West Coast game that ends after midnight, I prefer it to the pros, and it was I who started snarling at my friends when they suggested that we turn off the late-night Hawaii-San Jose State snoozefest during our all-day liveblog a few weeks back. One of the most naturally occurring and entertaining debates between such diehard fans of a sport is "Who's the best player?" It's a topic that people don't just develop strong opinions on, but also spend a lot of time and effort researching. Cristie Kerr's record-setting twelve stroke victory at the LPGA Championship left her in a dream-like state. Bubba Watson's teary-eyed acceptance of his first PGA Tour win at the Travelers Championship was exciting to boot as he was the last man standing in a three-man playoff. Since I could not be at both events in the tri-state area, I chose the Travelers in order to meet-up at a "tweet-up" with Patricia Hannigan (aka golfgirl from Golf Girl Media). I can't wait to see the pictures she took and I'm sure she'll post them soon.
