I had been in the hospital 5 times, 3 ER visits, 2 ambulance rides, another surgery after the gastric bypass and weekly doctor visit every week until last week. I had a second surgery 3 weeks ago for a hernia and adhesions. Last week was my true turning point. I finally feel better and alive. I feel blessed. Although my whole family, including me has the flu this week (and yes, we all got the flu shot)....I can still say how grateful I am that I have come through and am on the other side. I have lost 70lbs. and have gone from a 26 to a 16. But, it is not what I have lost that I have focused on...it is what I have gained. I was (and still am to some degree) knocked down to the ground with this surgery. I have been crawling on the floor trying to get up. But, this surgery has kept kicking me down. But, now, I believe that I am winning this fight. My relationship with God has been strengthened beyond belie...

2008-01-24 22:48:00 With all the demos released this week I've been having trouble keeping up. I got a chance at lunch today to check out the demo for Turning Point: Fall of Liberty. I'm going to start with the one thing I did like (yes, things are going to go downhill quickly). I really like the concept for this game. Instead of the normal World War II battles where you play a US/Allied soldier in Europe you play as a construction worked in New York. The plot is setup by the idea that the Nazi's are attacking the USA. The demo starts with you on top of a building being constructed. The Nazi's start attacking and you need to get off the construction site. Instead of just going down the building they give you a puzzle type setup where you have to walk along narrow steel beams. It is lame start to the game like this because it is not a very good puzzle, and it is annoying. There is only one path way down the building, but you have to walk real slowly around the edges of the building to get t...

Turning Point in Rangers' Season
2007-11-15 16:50:00 It's been quite a while since I was able to post here, because my wife and I welcomed our first child into the world recently, and, as you can imagine, it has kept us quite busy.During this time, the Rangers seem to have found their game, winning 7 of their last 8 games to move within one point of the first-place Flyers going into tonight's showdown in the City of Brotherly Love.So, what turned the Rangers season around? Some might say their recent string of wins is due to Captain Jaromir Jagr re-emerging as a dominant force. Or, Scott Gomez beginning to settle in and find his game. Some might even say the emergence of the Rangers' "kids" have energized the team.While all of that may be true, I prefer to think my daughter has made all the difference. The team's current 7-1 run just happened to coincide with her birth, and she has become the good luck charm for the season. I have posted a picture below of her enjoying (sleeping through) her first Ranger game.
