Dan & his Typos
2008-06-27 03:05:00 Last week, as I was reading my review of Julie Andrews’ memoir to a friend who likes my speaking voice, I found I often had to pause to mark a typo on the printout. I have since fixed those errors. In the past few days, as I’ve been reviewing my posts on marriage, I found a ...

Auction Bloopers Finds Deals with Slight Typos [EBay]
2008-05-30 16:15:00 Free eBay search tool Auction Bloopers does the exhaustive work of finding slight misspellings and typos in and around every word you type in, throwing them all into the online auction giant and returning with search results that include pretty much every possible result you might not find otherwise. We’ve previously highlighted a similar search tool, but Auction Bloopers notably uses extra, missing, and mis-ordered characters for model and serial numbers, making it a handy tool for gadget hunting. Friday roundup: typos, typos, typos
2008-05-09 14:52:00 This week's Friday roundup is all about typos.Copy editor Tim Stewart has been commenting on this blog recently, and his own blog, Typos in Print, might be one to watch – although it's too soon to say. Anyway, it's good to see another sub blogging. One of our regulars, Garik, emailed in to point out this post on Language Log. Not quite the Log's usual bag, but there are some interesting comments about if and when it is acceptable to "make fun of people who make spelling mistakes".Oh, and if you want to play 'spot the typo', check out the Priden Engineering website – but you'll have to be quick.

iPhone Accessory: Pogo Stylus claims to do away with Awkward Typos
2007-12-03 22:46:00 It is not very often that I write about an iPhone accessory, however this one did get my attention and thought you folks might be interested in checking it out. The iPhone accessory is the Pogo Stylus from Ten One Design which features an ultra-light aluminum body with an anodized finish and laser graphics and sized for accuracy which Ten One design claims does away with the awkward typos and misfires common when you use fingers.
Typos
2007-11-16 15:10:00 Hate when I make them. That's what happens when one consummates a post and then quickly hits the publish button without checking for them, as if the post is gonna disappear or something right after punching in that last letter. Good thing is, when I make one, I always spot it a few seconds later, and promptly correct it. And of course the problem with this is that, although visitors can see the typo-free post here, my subscribers -- yeah, I gotta few, over 15 -- receive the uncorrected post. Sorry y'all. Henceforth I'll reread the post carefully before hitting that publish post button.

Apple's Phones Prompt iTypos
2007-11-14 19:38:00 iPhone users make mistakes more often when texting compared to users of phones with hard keys, a new study found. User Centric tested how many mistakes mobile phone texters make, comparing the results of iPhone users with customers who have phones with full keyboards and those with numeric keyboards. User Centric, a Chicago usability consulting company, studied 20 users in each group. The study, while based on an extremely small sample size, makes for interesting reading.Source: PC world

The Most Hilarious Typos - February, 2006
2007-05-28 14:57:00 We are like robotic sequences. We are programmed to be anything that we can be. We and forces of us decide what to be. Even The Buddha was carved out of these "robotic sequences" - All that humans can possibly be. Science is closer to the truth than religion. The root cause of anxiety is fear. We get tangled up in life with family, friends, work, etc...

Don't Call Your Legislator; They're Busy Correcting Typos
2006-12-02 16:18:05 Typos. They're the bane of lawyers, and now the bane of several state legislatures. For example, New Yorkers need to beware of one new law passed by that state's legislature. If you've got just the tiniest amount of alcohol in your body, say the weight of a liter of helium (about 0.18 grams), then you're legally drunk. New Yorkers, in fact, are all automatically in violation of the law because more than 0.18 grams of alcohol occurs naturally in most everyone's bloodstream. That result is thanks to a typo in a new law. That's right. Legislators passed a get-tough, drunk-driving law intending to establish a new limit of 0.18 percent of your blood alcohol content to create an "aggravated driving while intoxicated" standard. But somehow in the rush to get the law on the books, someone stuck the word "gram" after the limit instead of "blood alcohol content." The law was intended to prevent prosecutors from all...
Web Content Management System fr Window: Search Engine Typos
0000-00-00 00:00:00 Oops! I meant web content management system for windows. Do search engines understanding consumer search engine typos? Typing something so close to what you are looking for, like typing web content management system fr window instead of web content management system for windows may not seem like a big deal, but search engine bloopers alter consumer searches more than we know.
