Seriously, can’t a guy just try to earn a mostly-honest living without enduring an astronomical shakedown courtesy of Uncle Sam? Don’t get me wrong, I completely agree that we should all pay our fair share. But it’s hard not to get pissed off when the kids charged with collecting our cash break the piggy bank every time a sweet pork project comes across their desk. Sure it’s just nickels and dimes at a time, but that stuff adds up fast. And if it wasn’t enough that millions of dollars are wasted on special interest spending every year, we have to fork over another $200 to $500 to pay someone else who understands the incredibly complex tax codes to file our taxes for us.
