Mini Bloggers United Xmas Party at the Burger Project
2011-12-24 05:28:00
After another tiring but successful day of selling our clothes for the benefit of the Sendong victims, we took a short trek to The Burger Project to reward ourselves. I've heard a lot of good things about the Burger Project prior to this visit so I was really excited to give it a try. The interiors of the Burger Project are young, clean and very straightforward. At The Burger Project, you have the option of choosing one of their proven designer burgers.... Or, you can go the brave route and design one yourself just like we did! The staff at The Burger Project are also very nice and accomodating. I also love that they have an in-depth knowledge of their product. I don't eat beef so it's a big plus for me that they took people like me into consideration when they designed their menu. The Burger Project is Vegan Friendly with their Tofu Patties and Oatmeal and Potato Buns. Our host for the night, Ruben, who is one of the partners behind The...

Fire v Manchester United Start Time Changed
2011-05-09 22:33:00
Kick off time for the Fire's July 23rd friendly against the eventual Premier League champions Manchester United has been moved from 7pm to 4pm.  World Football Challenge event organizers have decided to move the start up for a reason and I'm assuming it's not to announce the Fire have signed Wayne Rooney after the match.  The most sensible guess for the move would seem to be to accomodate a broadcast schedule.  There's been no announcement yet regarding television rights for the event but the thought of this team being exposed to a national audience against the Red Devils is not a pretty one.  Unless of course the Fire have some major new additions in store when the transfer window opens...

Unheralded Benefits of the United States Space Program
2011-04-22 08:00:00
Ladies and gentlemen, I have been asked to speak to you today regarding the civilian benefits of the space program. Before considering any changes to the funding level of NASA, I urge you to carefully consider some of the many benefits that have directly resulted from the space program. Tang. Teflon. Velcro. What do these items have in common? They were all used by astronauts in the United States space program. Did we invent them? Not exactly. But we used these products in ways that no one had ever imagined. Before the space program, no one had ever used Velcro to allow astronauts to walk on the ceiling of a spaceship. Before the space program, no one had ever used Teflon to keep astronauts from sticking to the floor of a spaceship. And no one had ever eaten a mixture of Tang and astronaut blood for space breakfast before Neil Armstrong caught the space madness and killed Steve, the fourth Apollo crew member. And while we didn't invent cordless power tools, we did pioneer their...
