El martes 3 de abril a las 20:26 GMT y el miércoles 4 de marzo a las 11:00 GMT y 11:02 GMT ocurrieron 3 sismos frente a las costas de las Islas Vanuatu, en el límite con las Islas de Nueva Caledonia (Islas Loyalty). El USGS ha registrado con 6.2 grados Richter los 2 primeros sismos y con 6.4 grados Richter el último, respectivamente. Geoscience Australia los ha registrado con 6.3, 6.4 y 6.5 grados Richter, respectivamente.
