Tried a test run of a webcast via kyte.tv, using my laptop’s webcam. Tried to have the audio go through my Pro Tools setup, and it may indeed have done so, but I was not able to see the video after the fact to verify what went through, owing to some snag with kyte.tv. I tested what the sound was like without the Pro Tools system running and was less than pleased with the audio quality, though the video worked very nicely as far as I could tell. I then tried using my high-powered cell phone, a buffed-out Nokia N95 with significantly better results. So what I’ll do next Saturday is use my cell phone for the broadcast and then record the audio in hi-fi to process later. It will work nicely.
