Venturing Out
2008-04-28 17:35:00
I had my first day out with both of my girls on Saturday. We went to Julia’s practice dance recital at a local nursing home. It took us three hours to get ready. We were twenty minutes late (but that was mostly because we had to turn back once we were on ...
Venturing into the Spiderwick Chronicles
2008-03-18 04:46:00
Today I just have to give a glimpse into a personal adventure, in which is shared by my daughter and myself. We just so happened to read the Spiderwick Chronicles together a little over a year ago. At the time, we had just discovered a new trail by the Clackamas river, and we took turns reading ...

One-stop banking centre for SMEs venturing abroad -Singapore
2008-03-13 00:00:00
One-stop banking centre for SMEs venturing abroad  -Singapore By Chia Yan Min    SMALL and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) aiming to expand overseas can now sort out all their banking needs in one go at a new HSBC facility officially opened yesterday. The bank’s commercial international banking centre in Collyer Quay will allow clients to open an overseas HSBC account with ease. It dispenses with the need to travel overseas, deal with language issues and navigate unfamiliar banking regulations - hurdles commonly faced by SMEs venturing abroad, said an HSBC study. HSBC’s new service, the first of its kind in SME banking in Singapore, gives customers a single point of contact for international business banking. They need only liaise with relationship managers at the Collyer Quay facility, saving time and money. The centre was set up in response to the growing number of Singapore SMEs doing business overseas. Last year, 70 per cent of the SMEs in Singapore had operations...
Venturing Into Ways Of Making Money Online
2008-03-12 01:06:00
As I have stated on my previous post before, I have started my journey of making some bucks on the Internet by blogging and doing sponsored posts. And that was also how I made my first $100 online. I was raw and still in experimental state when I started the journey. Alongside blogging and doing paid ...

There's a few of us venturing out there, if slowly...
2008-01-05 02:08:00
There's a few of us venturing out there, if slowly and carefully :-) It's nice to find another! When old women aren't laughed at, we are completely ignored. Ain't that the truth. It's as if, once past childbearing years, we are useless.Forget that being 50 means I'm old enough to have seen firsthand the effects of the assassinations of JFK, MLK and RFK on my community. Forget that they still taught civics back then, and you could get a decent public education for free. What matters is whether or not I am still sexually attractive to men.Pfft! It's scary enough putting yourself out there. Kudos for taking the risk.
DON Venturing Out On 20th December Along With Jagapathi Babu
2007-11-08 09:08:00
DON is the next hope for NAGARJUNA to further his career. And so the Director LAWRENCE and the Producers from KEERTHI CREATIONS are leaving no stone unturned. Earlier a character was created for the NEW GOLDEN LEG of the Telugu film industry JAGAPATHI BABU. Almost every movie in recent times with Jagapathi Babu's involvement has been a success. A few examples are ANUKOKUNDA OKAROJU and LAKSHYAM. Jagapathi is donning the role of a POLICE OFFICER in DON. Wherein, Nagarjuna is playing a modern day ROBIN HOOD according to the industry sources. Now, the movie is being slated for release on 20th December. If you remember correctly it is the day that MANMATHUDU released 5 years ago. So, I just hope that DON will be as entertaining if not better than MANMATHUDU.
Joint Venturing For Success
2007-09-20 22:49:00
Joint Ventures To Add To Your Affiliate CampaignsJoint ventures are where two joint venture partners join together for a common goal, usually to promote a product and combine campaigns and resources to produce better results for both parties concerned, for best results one may well have more marketing clout than the other so one can leverage the others bigger list and advertising budgets.Because you both will be JV partners you will have made an agreement to split the revenue 50/50 so that all sales will be split equally and fairly and the benfits are massive especially for the starter who simply provides the product and then JV's with a well known marketer who will expose their list subscribers to you and will in turn build your list too.JV partners can bring you more business faster and accelerate your success online faster too, you can find JV partners in many places online or offline, on the internet there is Clickbank which is the digital marketplace for affiliate sales, also ...
Capital, Small business and Venturing out
2007-09-20 17:42:00
All businesses need cash flow, I like when money pays all the expenses, then when things are going really well there will be the need for growth, usually growth or expansion take extra capital than most business have as extra funds.  The first step in improving your business's future or expanding your current company's business is raising money!  Venture capital is a type of private equity capital typically provided by professional, outside investors to new, growth businesses. This sound like a career that will take you places. Generally made as cash in exchange for shares in the investee company, venture capital investments are usually very high risk, but offer the potential for above-average return on investment. A venture capitalist (VC) is a person who makes such investments.  Our new friend.  A venture capital fund is a pooled investment vehicle that primarily invests the financial capital of third-party investors in enterprises that might be  too ris...
Weekend in Rome: Part II
2007-06-07 19:14:00
As promised the second installment of my impressions of Rome during our weekend stay. I'm still rummaging through the photos.. Gelateria The first gelato I had was called CioccoChocco or something similar. It was double chocolate with coconut flakes -a heavenly balance of cool, cream, and chocolatey goodness. It would be hard to go back to Germany knowing there would always be better gelato here in Rome. And after this one scoop, it will be impossible to convince myself to accept an ice cream in the U.S. The Marble Slab has nothing on this Italian gelato! My second scope was Pistachio. Oh. It tasted so nutty and not too sweet. Just whatever you do here in Rome, don't go Giolitti Gelateria. The gelato taste like it's made from powder. Yeah there might be over 50 flavors but you have to wait in a line sometimes stretching out of the door to get your fake gelato. Go anywhere else -like San Crispino, Via della Panetteria 42. They offer Gelato without preservatives and artificial co...
Weekend in Rome: Part I
2007-06-05 12:08:00
My first impression of Romans: These people are on the GO! My second impression: They live for dinner. In just three short days, we saw it all -what Rome is like sunny, rainy, during the day, night, weekday, weekend and on holiday. I love the mixer of the new with the ancient architecture. This is a three part summary of my observations while in Rome. This first part features a short film of a some of the major sights in Rome. There is a mistake in the film captioning, maybe you can spot it. Auto MadnessA taxi from Leonardo Di Vinci Airport cost 60 Euro for three people to get into town, there is no meter. The ride back from the city to the airport costs 50 Euro. In terms of obeying the universal rules of the road, our driver into town was just short of mad for American standards and ludicrous for German. But he wasn't alone. Tailgating is common, driving slower or the same speed as the right lane in the left lane is common, making 3 lanes from a one lane street is also common. T...
Even Girls Operate Heavy Machinery
2007-05-24 02:20:00
Endlich. My music video with my MiniDV files is finished. YEAH! I'm so proud of it. I had to get a clue and clean the old Dell and use the iRiver as an extra hard drive to create the .avi file. It took 35 minutes to produce, and 15 minutes to compress. I love the Vegas Movie Studio and Virtual Dub. Now if I just had the time to compile the other old video clips.. Now every time we walk or drive by a construction site, I beam inside knowing I can operate the excavator. The day before my appointment though, I was filled with nervous thoughts. What if I miss understood the German instructor? too complicated? What if I break it? or worse flip the damn thing over with me inside? The only screw up I made that day was that I misread the driving directions and navigated us to the owner's house in Bad Tölz instead of the Kiesgrube. I had to annoy a village lady mowing her lawn for directions. We were almost late for my appointment! As soon as we arrived at the gravel pit, the nerves me...
CNN.com: "Venturing into North Korea"
2007-05-23 08:16:00
Here's an informative piece from CNN.com about Mount Kumgang, a tourist resort in North Korea.--------------------------------------- Venturing into North Korea POSTED: 10:45 a.m. EDT, May 22, 2007By Adam LevineCNN WashingtonMOUNT KUMGANG, North Korea (CNN) -- Hiking on North Korea's Mount Kumgang gives you the uneasy feeling that despite the majesty of the natural scenery, even nature cannot escape politics in one of the most closed-off countries in the world. The four-hour walk to Kuryong Falls is the centerpiece of the Mount Kumgang resort in southeastern North Korea. The trail winds along a river with glistening pools of water and picturesque scenery all around. But you never escape the country's dictatorship -- there is the propaganda carved into the mountainside and rocks by the North Koreans, and the Chinese before them. There are also the North Korean employees working as vendors and rescue workers on the trail. They are always in pairs, and always seem to be watching you.Ku...
Incubation or Corporate Venturing: E-mbrio Releases Incubation Results
2007-05-17 22:11:00
Long ago, I shared my thoughts in a post on the founding and dealflow of E-mbrio by Teknoloji Holding (The Long Tail of Venture Capital). I slated it as an incubator based out of the confines of Teknoloji Holding, and applauded the establishment of such a firm and have waited patiently for any results. Well, recently, I took a look at Embrio's website for any news. Apparently, after 650 applications, 1 company, SuperTeklif was chosen. Founder Murat Serdar Ozyasar presented his idea to the E-mbrio team. E-mbrio's subsidiary, DataProfil A.S, developed the sales and marketing process where SuperTefklif was repositioned as Turkey?s ?first web-based authorized marketing platform", while E-mbrio developed the software and design. But for Teknoloji Holding, has E-mbrio become a full-fledged incubator or merely a creative spin on rolling out an innovative business development platform for investing in young entrepreneurs with great ideas, taking some risks and building a portfolio...

Google Venturing Into Affiliate Marketing with PPA Beta
2007-03-22 21:28:00
Well isn't this not a surprise! Considering Google's remarkable reach, influence and vast network, their venture into Pay Per Action Ads will undoubtedly spell trouble for affiliate marketing companies such as Commision Junction, Linkshare and Shareasale whose business model is very CPA focused. At the moment it is still in BETA with selected advertisers involved for ...
Jeju Island...venturing to Jejusi (central)
2006-08-28 08:21:02
So we decided to spend our last night in Jejusi, the central city on Jeju Island in the north. We were closer to the airport so waking up for our morning flight would be easier. We took another bus ride and this time after getting dropped off we were on the hunt for a hotel. After asking a local (who happened to speak English) about where to stay, she recommended that we try exploring down the side street where we were dropped off. We found Wind and Sand, a nice hotel that cost us 50,000w/night. This time around, our room was very clean and tidy--score!We ventured to Iho Beach and relaxed there for a while. Afterwards we went back to Jejusi and explored the area. The next day we had to wake up and say good bye to Jeju.So all in all, our trip to Jeju was nice, but the lack of planning and preparation showed. We decided on this trip last minute and unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. Oh well, you win some and you lose some. Time to head back to Mokdong and continue to document...
