Which is the reason I didn’t bother linking to Michael Ausiello’s over-hyped story on a possible MARS movie. I mean seriously, what studio head in their right mind is going to invest a minimum of thirty to fifty million dollars on a television series that ranked 148 out of 156 in the ratings? And most know by now, CBS has ordered up a couple more episodes of Jericho, which had originally been missing from the fall lineup in part because of a fan drive that sent lots of nuts (don?t ask, I don?t know either) to network. This was a surprised to me that people cared so much of the show because it wasn?t very good and was better off being canceled. Thoughts on the VERONICA MARS Series Finale
2007-05-23 15:38:00 With last night’s… cannot even utter the words… SERIES…finale… of VERONICA MARS, creator Rob Thomas along with co-writer Diane Ruggiero successfully accomplished something far too few finales ever manage to do. They reminded fans (or at the very least this TV addict) why we fell in love with the show in the first place. Forget the Hearst Rapist as well as the entire Dean O’Dell murder mystery (seriously, who cares?). Last night’s finale, titled “The Bitch is Back” was classic old school VERONICA MARS. And by old school, I’m talking season one goodness — the perfect mix of mystery, excitement, romance and snappy one liners. Proving Rob Thomas saw the writing was on the wall, many of our favourite characters returned to play integral roles in the series finale. It was recently reported that the popular CW dramedy, "Veronica Mars," would not be coming be coming back for a fourth season next year. The show apparently only drew 1.8 million viewers last week, thus prompting execs to consider pulling the plug. Despite the show being watched by nearly 1 out of every 150 Americans, "Veronica Mars" will soon be simply another bulletin point on Kristen Bell's resume. And Bullshattuck may have inadvertedly had something to do with that. Sorry. Several weeks ago while in Las Vegas, I visited the MGM Grand Las Vegas Resort & Casino. Located at the MGM Grand is the CBS Television City, where visitors are invited to watch clips of future television shows, and then rate them according to how much they enjoyed them. 2007-05-17 18:50:00 In a press conference following the CW UpFronts, network president Dawn Ostroff officially revealed to some very disappointed reporters that, “Veronica Mars is not coming back.” Additionally, when asked about the mid-season possibilities or the much talked about FBI scenario — Ostroff shot that down as well saying, “It’s not going to happen.” A few more questions were tossed Ostroff’s way, but the tone of her answers were pretty clear. She loved the show, Rob Thomas and star Kristen Bell. But VERONICA MARS season four simply isn’t going to happen. Let the mourning begin.

CW UpFront Rumours: VERONICA MARS Cancelled
2007-05-16 14:18:00 Draining even more suspense from tomorrow’s CW UpFront presentation (as this TV Addict ponders why he even bothered to show up in New York — oh wait, to paraphrase Barney, NYC is awesome!) — Variety is reporting that the CW has officially greenlit three new dramas, and gave Veronica Mars her walking papers. Renewed series include SMALLVILLE, SUPERNATURAL and ONE TREE HILL as well as the hilarious and underappreciated CW laugher EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS. Not so lucky is VERONICA MARS. While nothing’s official, sources close to the show say ‘Mars” is indeed coming to an end. On the new drama front, THE OC’s Josh Schwartz is headed back to TV (and not a moment too soon, I’m still in OC withdrawl) with GOSSIP GIRL along with two new dramas REAPER and WILD AT HEART.
