Hugh Laurie confessa di aver sperimentato il Vicodin. E in un’intervista
2008-03-18 23:57:00
=> Continua! Are Generic Drugs as Addictive as Brand Name Drugs?
2008-03-18 20:30:00
Chances are that about half of you who have prescriptions for Vicodin or Lorcet or Norco don?t receive a little bottle from the pharmacy with the brand name on it. Most likely it will use the generic name: Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen. Is there any difference between brand name and generic prescription painkillers? And more importantly, is either more or less addictive than the other?

Don?t try to play Dr. House, cause you are not him? :)Hugh Laurie admits he attempted to get closer to the character he portrays on House ? by experimenting with Vicodin. ?I wouldn?t recommend it ? we have to be careful,? Laurie, 48, tells Britain?s Radio Times magazine, ?But then again ? if you?re not in pain it gives a floaty, pleasurable feeling.?Being apart from his family is probably the reason why Hugh is not happy with his Golden Globe winning performance, but we love House!!?I?m hugely surprised House survives. The Difference Between Naltrexone and Naloxone
2008-02-25 13:42:00
There seems to be a little confusion about the difference between the two ?nal-xone? drugs, naltrexone and naloxone. Two very different drugs, the similar names are confusing but what makes it worse is the fact that both are related to the treatment of drug and alcohol abuse. Hopefully this will clear up the misconceptions.
Are Patients or Doctors Responsible For Opioid Medication Abuse and Addicti
2008-01-31 07:39:00
Peggy Compton, RN, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Nursing at the UCLA School of Nursing, Los Angeles and recently published an article online at Pain-Topics.org, "Should Opioid Abusers Be Discharged From Opioid-Analgesic Therapy?" Basically, she says that those who are using prescription opiates are in a precarious situation and that abruptly stopping their medication is dangerous. A thorough exit plan is a necessity when doctors take on the responsibility of prescribing opioid-based medications like Vicodin, Norco, Fentanyl, OxyContin and others.
Celebrity Drug Rehab Profile: Jessica Sierra
2008-01-25 06:13:00
The biggest complaint about Jessica Sierra?s appearance on VH1?s Celebrity Drug Rehab reality TV show is the fact that she?s not really a celebrity. Where everyone else in the house has logged years in the entertainment industry, Jessica Sierra entered a contest and lost. Granted, it?s one of the most-watched contests on TV--American Idol--and she wasn?t the first one cut or anything, but as far as celebrity goes, you have to define the word pretty loosely to include Sierra.

Celebrity Rehab Profile: Marshall Mathers (aka Eminem)
2008-01-04 22:28:00
Marshall Mathers, better known as Eminem, is one of the most successful recording artists of the past decade. Each of his three albums have hit number one on the pop charts and 5 of his singles have been in the top 10 with "Lose Yourself" hitting number one. Unfortunately, like many others who share the spotlight with him, Eminem found himself addicted to sleep medications and went to a short-term inpatient rehab to cover.

2008-01-02 20:44:00

The gossip columns and paparazzi love to report that she is on her way back to rehab or going AWOL from a rehab facility to hit the shopping mall. At 26 years old, Richie has lived 10 lives in the press and with the conflicting stories from CNN, her press agent and the tabloids, who knows what?s really true?
Pros and Cons of Medical Detoxification
2007-12-30 18:36:00
Medical detoxification is a way of breaking an addiction to drugs with the help of a prescription designed to ease the symptoms of withdrawal. The alternative?quitting ?cold turkey??can be painful and even deadly depending on the dosage. A medical detox gives you the benefit of a drug-free life without the nasty physical withdrawal symptoms that would otherwise be a part of the experience.
Deadly Mechanism of Methadone
2007-12-29 19:36:00
In 2004, more than 3800 people died from methadone overdose in the United States, according to the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS). Every year since, overdoses due to methadone have continued to increase by about 20 percent. Once the gold standard in drug addiction treatment, methadone has quickly become one of the most commonly abused prescription opiates on the black market and by legal prescription for chronic pain.
The Mechanism of Naloxone in Narcotic Addiction Treatment
2007-12-29 03:54:00
The term ?narcotic addiction treatment? refers to any treatment with the goal of breaking addiction to opioid-based drugs like heroin, morphine, OxyContin, Vicodin and other prescription painkillers. An opiate addiction treatment that makes use of naloxone is especially effective. It can be used alone like when paramedics use it to treat overdose victims or in combination with other drugs like in Suboxone where it is combined with buprenorphine.
Methadone Abuse Worse Than Abuse of Other Prescription Opiates
2007-12-25 09:32:00
It used to be that methadone was considered the drug of choice when it came to treating opiate addiction. However, with its increasing prevalence as a treatment for chronic pain, methadone has joined the ranks of other commonly abused opioid-based drugs like heroin, Vicodin, OxyContin and others. More than any other prescription painkiller, the rate of overdose by methadone has skyrocketed over the past five years. The rate of increase is about 390 percent according to the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS). In 13 percent of overdose fatalities that were reported in the United States, methadone was a contributing or sole cause. Only cocaine kills more people than methadone. Methadone is far less expensive than other opiate pain relievers like OxyContin, so more and more doctors are prescribing it for that reason. Those who are addicted to opiate pain relievers also resort to methadone pills when they run out of their regular, more expensive prescriptions. The Drug En...
Hardwares In My Jaw, The Boobs Shots, and A Bottle of Vicodin
2007-09-01 08:35:00
Well... that title should draw some people off Google Search ;)(If you're one of those, maybe check THIS out.)Today I went back to the Orthodontist to do the second stage of my dental implant. He opened up my gums and exposed the screw (oh, pardon me, I didn't give a warning to those who can't take this kind of "opening the gum" talk). So anyway, I now have screws with caps in my mouth. I have a feeling the airport security check will go off when I walk in because of all these metal in my mouth. After an hour and a half of this process with the orthodontist, I immediately drove to Kaiser to get a Mammogram. Out of the blue, Kaiser called me 3 weeks ago saying that my doctor recommended I take a mammogram. And since this is the only time I could do it, I did it anyway despite my dental surgery in the morning. It's my first time to have a mammogram. I asked the technician if it's going to be like a photoshoot of my boobs, and she said "pretty much". But oi, it wasn't just ...
Did Nicole Richie?s uterus make her do Vicodin?
2007-08-03 16:08:00
Was anyone else impressed by Nicole Richie’s skillful performance on Good Morning America yesterday? My favorite part was when Diane Sawyer leaned in for the kill and probed deeper, asking Nicole why she was taking Vicodin. And a straight-faced Richie,… More: continued here

Nicole takes Vicodin for menstrual cramps
2006-12-18 17:08:01
This is so much bullshit! Us Magazine is reporting that Nicole Richie takes Vicodin to ease the pain from her menstrual cramps. Girls around the world suffer through this stuff every month and I’m pretty sure they aren’t popping Vicodin. This has to be the lamest excuse I’ve heard in a long time. She’s going to have to do better than that. Her friend is also claiming that Nicole really weighs 95 pounds as opposed to the 85 the police says that she weighs. I don’t believe any of this. If she really gained so much weight someone would’ve noticed. I surely would have.
Vicodin
2006-11-17 17:07:00
What is the most important information I should know about Vicodin? • Hydrocodone is habit forming. It is possible become physically and/or psychologically dependent on the medication. Do not take more than the prescribed amount of medication or take it for longer than is directed by your doctor. Withdrawal effects may occur if Vicodin is stopped suddenly after several weeks of continuous use. Your doctor may recommend a gradual reduction in dose. • Avoid alcohol while taking Vicodin. Alcohol can increase drowsiness and dizziness caused by the medication, possibly resulting in unconsciousness and death. Also, acetaminophen can be damaging to the liver when taken with alcohol. • Vicodin may increase the effects of other drugs that cause drowsiness, including antidepressants, alcohol, antihistamines, pain relievers, anxiety medicines, seizure medicines, and muscle relaxants. Dangerous sedation, dizziness, or drowsiness may occur if Vicodin is taken with any of these medica...
