Legends on Parade
2007-08-15 16:17:00 From a press release comes this new information:The time of the FIRST ANNUAL LEGENDS ON PARADE has changed from 2 p.m., until 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007 to accommodate the schedules of the players who are coming in for this kick-off of NFL Alumni weekend in Green Bay. An attached modified route is also included. The parade will feature a number of players from eras in Packers history, as well as fans, floats, bands, Packers cheerleaders of the past. Some of the legends who have confirmed appearances in the parade thus far are Bart Starr, Gary Knaflec, Jerry Kramer, Paul Hornung , the families of Vince Lombardi and Ray Nitschke. The parade will begin and end at the Tundra Lodge Resort and Waterpark in the City of Green Bay. Float entries are still welcome for this 60s Glory Years themed parade. Silver screen to feature Lombardi
2007-08-03 14:12:00 Hollywood is about to jump on the Vince Lombardi bandwagon. A full length feature film about Lombardi is set to be made in the near future.Don Walker of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports, "A script has been written for the film, which is based in part on Jerry Kramer's best-selling book, 'Instant Replay.' Both Kramer and Vince Lombardi Jr., have signed off on the project, according to NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy and Andrew Hauptman, the film's producer."Warren Gerds of the Green Bay Press-Gazette writes, "The movie 'Lombardi' apparently will center on the coach during the week leading up to the Ice Bowl, which was played Dec. 31, 1967, at Lambeau Field."The Green Bay Packers have reportedly had talks with the NFL about the project. The NFL will be heavily involved with the production about the movie.
