2011-07-11 01:00:00 When someone says Piña Colada, you immediately picture a frosty drink with tropical fruit hanging off the edge of the glass. It is cool, delicious, and sweet. It is the "national" drink of Puerto Rico, and is available just about everywhere here — beaches, roadside stands, restaurants, and bars. A Delicious Hands-on Lunch Tour in Old San Juan
2011-07-04 01:00:00 Flavors of San Juan offers a really nice tour that just might give you that little push that you'll need to try cooking a Puerto Rican meal on your own at home. It starts out as a guided tour around Old San Juan — where you learn all sorts of history — and it finishes up with you making a local dish (Mofongo) as part of your lunch. It is called a Hands-On Lunch Tour, it was yummy, and I have been inspired to try my hand at some Puerto Rican cooking!Continue reading this article → A Delicious Hands-on Lunch Tour in Old San Juan Are you on Facebook? The Outworks Tour at Fort San Cristobal
2011-06-06 01:00:00 When touring Old San Juan, no visit would be complete without a visit to at least one of the forts. Recently, we had the opportunity to take the Outworks Tour at Fort San Cristobal. This tour highlights just how much of a military engineering marvel this fort is, and how it is designed with all sorts of boobie traps, and visiual deceptions, to really mess with the heads of any invading enemy?s troops.Continue reading this article → The Outworks Tour at Fort San Cristobal Are you on Facebook? Witness History at the Battle of 1797 Reenactment

This year, the reenactment will be held April 29 to May 1, 2011. Stop by El Morro or Fort San Cristobal and check it out!Continue reading this article → Witness History at the Battle of 1797 Reenactment Are you on Facebook? Another Taste of Rum
2011-03-04 16:30:00 I admit that one of the fun things I love about living on an island is the rum. And Puerto Rico is quite the island for rum — called the Rum Capital of the World. So, for me, one of the most wonderful times of the year is the annual Taste of Rum Festival. The 2011 Taste of Rum Festival will be held March 19 and 20th. As in years past, there will be rum to sample, food prepared with rum to taste, rum-related seminars and competitions, as well as live music to get your rum-infused body moving.Continue reading this article → Another Taste of Rum Are you on Facebook? Daley's visitor's log
2009-09-04 22:53:00 The Obama administration today said it would open its visitors log for public inspection, so that Who are those people sneaking into Daley's city hall office/we can see who's trying to influence the president. Truly a swell idea. But if it's good enough for the president, than why shouldn't it be good enough for Chicago Mayor M. Daley to disclose everyone who drops by his office? Or his zoning office? Or his hiring office? Or his...well, you get the idea.A federal judge has ruled that the president's visitors log is a public record, so I would invite the same group that sued to open the president's log--Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington--to open a Chicago office, were the need for...

Newdow, Sherman to sue to block IGWT at Capitol Visitor Center
2009-07-10 06:45:00 America's top two atheists, Mike Newdow and I, will be filing suit, shortly, to stop the Architect of the Capitol in Washington, D.C., from desecrating the Capitol Visitor Center by engraving "In god we trust" in the brand new facility. At issue is the constitutionality of spending tax dollars to advance religion, which this expenditure would do and which clearly is prohibited by the First Amendment. According to Chicago Tribune story House orders 'In God We Trust' engraved in new visitor center,...

AdBoards – The Undiscovered Goldmine of Visitor Flow
2008-12-28 07:05:00 Marketers are frequently convinced that search engines and pay-per-click programs are genuine and reliable sources of visitors. Alternative ways of advertising are often being scouted. That’s so unnecessary! After testing several different strategies of web promotion, the results were unexpectedly surprising: Free AdBoards can provide you with 5 to 60 unique and very interesting visitors every day. I am not talking about websites of discussion forum type that allow advertising tons of all sorts of rubbish, but the simplified versions of Free Classifieds. Such Free AdBoards websites as BusinessFreeAd, Avgo or SkyAdBoard allow visitors to place their promotional text lines directly on the front page. New promotional headlines are placed on top of the list, by pushing the previous ones one line below. Some AdBoards allow placing a certain number of promotional lines with no additional conditions, while others require clicking on somebody else’s promotional line before letting you p...

Indian visitor upset over Gandhi statue position at Tussauds
2008-06-07 08:09:00 AHMEDABAD: Not happy with the placement of Mahatma Gandhi's statue at Madam Tussauds, a man from Gujarat after his first visit to the famous wax museum has written to Britain's Prime Minister Gordon Brown to shift it from that position. V K Saxena of National Council of Civic Liberties in his letter to Brown said the statue is not placed in the wing where the statues of other illustrious world leaders are exhibited. Gandhi's statue is placed at an isolated corner on the second floor near an ice cream parlour close to the dustbin, Saxena wrote in his letter. Thousands of visitors who use this parlour throw away waste into the bin which often spills out near the statue, he said. He requested Brown to take immediate action to see that this anomaly is rectified. Saxena has also sent copies of his letter to all national leaders including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Leader of Opposition L K Advani.Source: economictimes

Lodi Wine and Visitor Center
2008-05-10 18:08:00 Located halfway between Sacramento and Stockton on the way to the Bay Area, Lodi is California’s other wine destination. Lodi has long been California’s number one source of varietal grapes, and its old-vine Zinfandel has even achieved cult status among connoisseurs, yet few wine labels mention the area. That’s changing as an aggressive local growers’ group promotes the area’s grapes and wineries increasingly recognize their quality. As a result, Lodi is starting to gain credit on wine bottles. Your first stop on your Lodi wine county trip should be the Lodi Wine and Visitor Center. Learn about the local history, taste some local wine and pick up a wine trial map. Located only 35 minutes south of Sacramento and 90 minutes east of San Francisco - the Lodi Wine & Visitor Center is a must stop sight in the Northern California wine country. Lodi Wine & Visitor Center, 2545 W. Turner Rd. Lodi, CA 95242 Open Daily: 10:00am - 5:00 pm
Creating a Simple Visitor Counter in PHP
2008-05-06 09:05:00 Visitor counter is an easy way to track number of visitors coming to a web site, while sophisticated trackers can give detailed statistics of visitors, a simple visitor counter like the one we’re going tot create, would only track the number of times a web page (or site) has been requested. A simple visitor counter which only tracks number of pageloads is very easy to create. It is obvious that the number of pageloads has to be preserved across different runs so we need to store that data in a Database or file. To ease things we’ll use a file. Every time the page (with the script) is requested the value (number of pageloads) will be read from and incremented in the file. The initial value in the file should be 0. Here is the code: <?php //function function showCounter() { //open&-nbsp;the file in -;read & write&nbs-p;mode $fp=fop-en("counter.txt",...

Qatar Visitor Forum
2008-04-28 14:48:00 When we first started the Qatar Visitor website in July last year, we discussed whether or not to have a forum. We decided against it, at least for the time being. There were other forums out there, we didn't think we had enough visitors at the time to make it work and we didn't see the need.We changed our minds. One reason is that we felt the need to make the website more interactive. At present, there is no way for people to give us any feedback, ask us any questions or just discuss matters with us. This is just one of the ways we hope to change this - we are also in the process of adding a comments section to the articles. We realise that there are tonnes of good chat and social sites out there - Facebook has a huge Qatar group, and many local users also favour Qatar living for their online chatting. However, the majority of our users (who now number about a 1000 a day) are coming to Qatar Visitor to look for jobs or for information about moving to Qatar - we often get emails whe...

Which is proper: Visitor Center, Visitors Center, Visitor's Center or
2008-04-25 21:32:00 SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: Visitors Centers are most useful and helpful institutions. Anywhere we go, we first try to figure out where the local centers are. Prior to delving into our adventures we like to get a solid overview of the area and the attractions. Visitors Centers almost always provide excellent information whether it be with maps, brochures, hours, prices or some detail unbeknownst to us. Friendly people, sometimes over-friendly, man the counters. They are eager to help with your inquiries and tell you everything you've ever wanted to know about their region. One thing has been bugging me though with respect to these centers. It seems like they all have an ever so slightly different name they are called. The question is: Which is proper: Visitor Center, Visitors Center, Visitor's Center or Visitors' Center?

2008-04-24 01:30:00 SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: As we were driving along the Tamiami Trail (90/41) at the Northern edge of the Everglades National Park, signs advertising air boat tours appeared every few minutes. Guarantees were given on the amount of excitement one will have, the wildlife they would see and the fun. We resisted all of these as we had already planned on taking part in the Everglades National Park Boat Tour which departs from Everglades City and visits the Ten Thousand Islands area. Clear signs along the roads meant that we found our destination without problems. It was a weekday around noon and Everglades City was quite deserted. A bit spooky. After a quick bite at the solid JT's Island Grill & Gallery we parked at the Gulf Coast Visitor Center and proceeded to inquire about departure times.Rate and Review : Everglades National Park Boat Tour from the Gulf Coast Visitor Center in Everglades City, Florida
