La versión definitiva del nuevo coupé deportivo de Volkswagen está ya lista, y su debut mundial será el próximo mes de marzo en el Salón Internacional del Automóvil de Ginebra, mientras que su comercialización inic iará en junio de este año. El Scirocco está previsto que salgan a la venta el próximo mes de junio, y VW construirá poco menos de 20000 por año en su fábrica de Setúbal, Portugal, según informa la revista alemana Auto Motor und Sport. Pese a que por el momento no hay datos oficiales por parte de la armadora, VW ha creado un mini-site en Internet en alemán, donde se puede apreciar pequeños fragmentos del nuevo Siroco, además de algunos datos técnicos con los que contará.

Image leak: 2009 Volkswagen Scirocco While it remains unclear if the Volkswagen Scirocco will make it to U.S. shores, one thing is clear — the 2009 Scirocco is ready for production. Spy photographers managed to get a sneak peak at the Scirocco's brochure which reveals at least some of the car's final styling. Spy photographer first spotted a prototype Scirocco testing back in August, but the car hasn't been seen since a session on the Nürburgring back in September. VW has since been busy at work and it appears as though Scirocco is production ready. The latest spy photos show that the front end of the production Scirocco should closely match the one on the show car. Earlier spy photos revealed some distinctive chrome-ringed air ducts and a portion of the center console, and the latest round of shots give us at least a glimpse of what the production Scirocco's interior will look like. Until now, that is, as a new white Scirocco prototype has joined the prototype parade on the Nürburgring. This time, our spies captured a partial view this prototype's uncovered dashboard. The photo reveals some distinctive chrome-ringed air ducts, and a portion of the center console is visible. Comparing this interior to VW's IROC concept vehicle shows a notable divergence between the show car and this production version. The gage cluster on this prototype clearly makes use of some more mundane VW corporate parts bin materials–most likely shared with the next-generation VW Golf.
