Today I’d like to point people to a fantastic new scientific tool for monitoring the carbon emissions of the continental United States: Project Vulcan. But first, a YouTube video on the project. Project Vulcan is a joint project of Purdue University, Colorado State University, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and it was funded jointly by NASA and the Department of Energy. The goal was to create a map of carbon dioxide emissions that was highly detailed both in time and in space.
