The worst, of course, was "the list" of school supplies that one year had me coming this close to a nervous breakdown in a Wal-Mart aisle in DeKalb. Article is on Wal-Mart's having reached wage agreements with China's official union, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) in Quanzhou, Shenyang and Shenzhen. Gist of the article is that Wal-Mart's agreement was necessary to stay in good with the government: Dave Orlins, president of the National Committee of U.S. China Relations, said the agreement is crucial to Wal-Mart's business.
