2008-03-27 13:04:00 Gamespot is reporting that EA has pushed back the highly anticipated Warhammer MMO until later in 2008. Today, EA further demonstrated its commitment to hitting those two benchmarks. As noted in EA Mythic's monthly newsletter, Warhammer Online has been pushed back from EA's second fiscal quarter to a broad "fall" release. Echoing Jacobs' comments from several months ago, the game's latest moratorium is to allow time for further polish and fine-tuning as it gears up for primetime. "During the most recent phase of beta testing, two things have become clear," Jacobs said today in the game's monthly newsletter. "One was that our key innovations--Public Quests, Tome of Knowledge, and Realm vs. Realm combat--were all coming along extremely well, as was the first stage of our innovative crafting system. In light of this dim announcement, Mythic also let us know that they will be releasing a special Collector?s Edition of the game limited to 60,000 units in North America, priced at $79.99. The Collector?s Edition will include a 128-page graphic novel, exclusive miniature figurine, and a 224-page art book. That is not all though, virtual items bundled with the Collector?s Edition include 12 additional in-game character heads, 12 bonus quests, and an EXP boosting item limited to 3 uses of 60 minutes a piece.
