Social Media News: Digital Atlanta, Google Buzz, Web 3.0
2011-10-17 13:10:00
Atlanta, Georgia – “Social Media News” is a weird term when you stop to consider that social media produces news. Privacy vs. technology, freedom vs. convenience: it?s only going to get wor
2008-03-21 19:00:00
Item: Citizens are concerned about online privacy and security. According to a new report from USC’s Center for the Digital Future, “Sixty-one percent of adult Americans said they were very or extremely concerned about the privacy of personal information when buying online, an increase from 47 percent in 2006. Before last year, that figure had largely been dropping since 2001.” These fears are well-founded. The study, to be released Thursday, comes as privacy and security groups report that an increasing number of personal records are being compromised because of data breaches at online retailers, banks, government agencies and corporations. The Identity Theft Resource Center, for instance, listed more than 125 million records reported compromised in the United States last year. That’s a sixfold increase from the nearly 20 million records reported in 2006. About “two-thirds of adult Internet users shop online,” so their privacy fears aren’t ...

Ahora es el turno de la Web 3.0
2007-07-30 12:54:00

Web 3.0 and Predictive, Preventive and Personalized Medicine
2007-04-09 06:05:00
Since January, Berci over at Scienceroll has been writing about how Web 2.0 is changing medicine. He’s written a number of interesting articles, including Medical wikis: the future of medicine? and Medical Web 2.0 Sites. In Web 3.0 and medicine, Berci writes about WikiProteins, a new site that plans to use Web 3.0 technologies to incorporate real time community annotation into a semantic framework. The article Meet the uber-wiki is a great review of the up-and-coming resource. According to Nova Spivack, founder of Radar Networks, a San Francisco based startup that is developing a new web-based online service that will bring the power of the Intelligent Web to consumers, Web 3.0 is closer than you think (1). To Web 3.0 ... and beyond!
2007-04-02 15:54:00
The whole Web 2.0 meme is getting rather painful to use in context due to the amount of usage it gets from Marketing types who wouldn't know a web 2.0 application if it sold their personal details to Nigerian spammers and emptied their bank account.Nova Spivack of Radar Networks, thinks that Applying version numbers to mark periods in the evolution of web technology makes as much sense as any other way. He's come up with this rather nice map of the technological and social influences that have come to prominence over the lifetime of the web so far, and on into the future. The concept of labelling each decade makes sense, it correlates to the way we think of history in terms of the eighties, nineties, noughties? etc.As for me, I think I'm going to skip Web 3.0 and wait for Web 4.0 before I upgrade ;)

Web 3.0 strategy of top companies
2007-02-02 16:46:02
What is the possibility of leading IT companies in the world surviving 50 years from now? Are they able to remain on top in the next five to 10 years? In the era of fierce competitions, it is difficult for a company to survive if it is not no.1.That?s because no.1 companies make the rules and open markets.
