Closing the Gap in web advertising
2008-05-01 12:12:00
In internet affiliate marketing, there are many options to choose from and many types of programs. Undoubtedly the most well known of these programs is known as pay per click. (PPC) PPC advertising, however struggles with a major problem. Click fraud. Unscrupulous individuals who try to earn money by clicking on their own links (or asking others to do the same). Other programs are in place today to help combat this problem. Cost per Action (CPA) networks help to combat this problem for the internet marketer. Until recently, I have found there to be a large Gap between PPC and CPA networks. Where PPC networks are generally open to anyone, CPA networks generally have more strict entry requirements, and less opportunities. Enter the Clickbooth CPA Network. I have signed up for this network just recently, and have been very impressed with the service. Before, I could even register, there was a rather rigorous process to confirm my identity. ScratchBack is live!
2007-10-29 11:36:00
Jim Kukral’s long awaited Scratch/Back has been launched. You can see the “Top Sites” widget on the right sidebar of this blog. Its an interesting concept built for “fun” as Jim has mentioned at the ScratchBack blog. Its still in Beta though. The website interface is simple and easy to use. All links created do not pass an “page rank juice” since they are all “nofollow”. This ensure that these links do not come under the category of “selling text links”. I’ve installed it with 10 “spots” available for purchase for just $1.00 per link.  Yes! You heard that right. So go ahead and get into my “Top Sites” widget right away. Share This © 2007 Anuj Seth

Payments are done via Check or PayPal. You can expect a follow-up review of ADS-click in a couple of weeks with more details in terms of their payouts. Share This © 2007 Anuj Seth

TNX.net: The newest text ads kid on the block

TNX is the latest entrant in the arena of selling text link advertisements. This market is currently dominated by TextLinkAds and LinkWorth. TNX introduces some new and unique concepts that can help it differentiate itself from TLA and LinkWorth. A run down is given below. Publishers get “TNX Points” whenever text ads are displayed on their sites. These sites can be redeemed for cash paid via PayPal or can also be used to purchase advertisements. You would think that everyone in business would be able to tell youwhat they do and why you should be doing business with them;unfortunately the sad truth is many business executives can't. In factone of the biggest problems in designing websites has always beengetting appropriate raw material that can be turned into meaningfulpresentations: a handful of badly written brochures and a fewout-of-date photographs are not going to make much of an impression. And now that the Web has involved into a sophisticated communicationplatform, able to deliver audio and video content, the problem hasbecome even worse; not only do websites need to deliver appropriatecopy and image content, they need to present audio dialog and videoperformances that demonstrate how products and services improve thebusiness or personal lives of website visitors. As a company we are good at what we do, we can turn the mundaneinto the memorable but we can't do it if clients don't know or can'texpress their own mar...

Web Advertising Secrets That Will Give You All The Traffic You Need To Make

Admittedly most of the popular effective methods of generating traffic to a site are not free. Take the most effective for most people, PPC (pay-per-click) ads at popular search engines for instance; you will need to pay for the traffic that you receive at your web site or blog. And although it may be at a rate of a few cents a pop, it tends to quickly add up. That's why Google makes such colossal profits. Now the problem with sites that ma...
Make Web Advertising Worth Watching

How To MakeWeb-Advertising Worth WatchingBy Jerry Bader (c) 2007 It has become an article of faith that the Web is all about content; content is King on the Web as opposed to television where commercials are king. It seems that television networks just can't wrap their heads around the Internet and fit it into their standard commercial box. The traditional media's tactic of last resort, buying-up the competition and imposing its commercial will, just won't work with the Internet.Businesses that want to succeed on the Web must learn how to turn their commercial message into content as a seamless entertaining presentation. After years of website visitors first ignoring, then getting increasingly irritated with banner ads that blink, burp, and blast across their screens, there finally is a better way; advertising in the form of Web-videos that not only deliver a marketing message but are worth the time invested in watching. There is a lot of hype surrounding so-called viral videos. ...

Top Blogs accounting for 2-3% of entire Web Advertising?
2007-08-02 15:23:00
A new study being published by the University of Texas and Chitika says that the top 50,000 blogs may have generated around $500 million in aggregate 2006 revenue. The data of course can’t be trusted to a great extent since they have mostly looked at the Chitika blog advertising network (12,000 blogs). Blog rankings too have been determined by Technorati, which is not the perfect indicator either.Anyways, not all blogs earn money and perhaps only the top 50,000 blogs in the world would be earning a considerable amount of money, which too I doubt. I would say only around the top 20,000 blogs make good money. How much is good money? Well, at least $1000 per month.Micheal Arrington says:"An interesting conclusion is that blog revenue may defy the “80/20 rule”, with even more revenue going to top blogs than usual, with 20% of total revenue going to the top 1% of blogs. “Upon closer observation, it was found that model tends to overestimate the revenue at less ...

In-text advertising on your blogs

In-text advertising is a form of advertising and source for bloggers to make money online. This is medium where keyword in your blog articles get linked to show pop-up advertisements on a theme connected with the keyword. There are various companies that provide such forms of advertising. Surprisingly Google does not figure on the list yet. The Online Presence Blog uses Kontera’s ContentLink for this form of advertising. You will find double underlined text on this blog which will show popups as in the image below when you hover over it. When someone clicks on the advertisement (and not just the link!) you get paid for it. All of these services work on a PPC model. Does in-text advertising really work? The simplest answer is Yes! It does work. But it goes without saying that the blog/website needs to have good content and well written content to ensure that the appropriate keywords get linked into ads. PrimoFeed: ?AuctionAds? for Amazon.com
2007-06-22 11:53:00
PrimoFeed is another of the advertising services that you can deploy on your blogs to make money online.  In my opinion, its quite similar to the AuctionAds service. Basically AuctionAds is a service on top of eBay and PrimoFeed can currently be called a service on top of Amazon.com. Its not that they focus only on Amazon. They have bunch of other services besides Amazon and anyone can tie up with them as long as they meet the requirements of the program; but Amazon seems to be the biggest right now and most of the ads are served from Amazon currently. One nice feature that I liked about PrimoFeed is the fact that you can click on a “Details” link next to each ad block to get further details of the product being advertised. Yahoo Publisher Network heads the Google Way
2007-06-07 08:00:00
Yahoo recently announced on their Search Marketing Blog a new pricing model for their network. The model is based on the ‘quality of traffic’ that comes from your website. Quoting from their site: Previously, you were charged the same for traffic from all web sites within our distribution network. Now, with quality-based pricing, you may be charged less for certain clicks than you otherwise would pay, depending on the overall quality of the traffic provided by our distribution partners. As a result, your click charges can decrease. Get to know more about their Quality-based Pricing at their FAQ page. A new web advertising service has been launched recently called AdvertCube. Advertisers can get unlimited ad views and unlimited clicks for as less as $5.00!! Webmasters can earn $0.50 per click and $2.50 per successful referral. The payouts seem to be good. Lets wait and watch on the quality of ads and the click thru rates that we get. Since the service is relatively new, there are not too many reviews available on the Internet. So, I’m not sure how good or bad this service is going to be. 2007-04-30 12:42:00
I came across an interesting article on how to convert the AuctionAds JavaScript code to generate contextual advertisements on your blog. The gist of it is that AuctionAds gives you permission to tweak their JavaScript code with respect to the keywords it searches for when displaying ads. This is typically a static list and is controlled by a variable in their JavaScript code as shown below:

WPAds: Have control over your ads

WPAds is a simple Wordpress plugin that gives you control over the advertisements you host on your blog. You can specify the number of times the advertisement is to be shown. You can basically embed HTML/Javascript code for the ad service you have subscribed to, be it AdSense, Adbrite, or whatever else it might be. All you need to do then is to simply put in a simple 1 line php code at the area where you want to show the ad.
AuctionAds/eBay tracking issue resolved
2007-04-26 13:23:00
I received an email yesterday from AuctionAds: We’re happy to announce that the tracking issues eBay experienced have finally been fully resolved. The fixes were in place several days ago but again we didn’t want to make an announcement until we were sure everything had returned to normal. Credits will be applied to publisher’s accounts as soon as the final numbers are determined. Thanks go out to all our publishers who waited patiently through this issue. It was frustrating for everyone involved. That being said, with tracking fully restored revenues are higher than ever.
