2008-06-06 15:38:00 Quite frankly, lately I have been up and down about weighing in but this week I kicked some ass! I lost 3.4 pounds I could have even lost more by now because I weighed in early, because you know, I just felt… lighter, lol. I wish I could say that it was all that exercise but nope - it was better food choices. I really made a very conscious effort to watch everything I ate. I worked very hard at my portion control and not snacking mindlessly. I did walk 2 days but it wasn’t anything to write home about… about 30 minutes each time. But I felt good that I made that effort as well as constantly checking my food intake. I ate home this week all except one day which I’m sure made a huge difference as well. My water intake is something to be desired though - normally I’m a 6 bottle a day water drinker but I admit to doing something I haven’t done regularly in 3 years plus… I bought a bottle of soda this week, and I drank it...

2008-05-22 06:07:00 Ok, if you read my Scale Habits post you know it's been a LONG time since weighing in. Well today was the BIG day. How did I do without looking at the scale for 6 WEEKS?!? I didn't even track points and I only journaled my food a few days here and there. Well, I am happy to report I was down .8!! Which is a perfect maintenance number. I'm still a few pounds up from where I want to be but I am ecstatic! I feel as if I can trust myself a little more now. I do not have to be a slave to the scale to maintain my weight. Now I want to kick it up a notch and loose these 4 pounds! So I have FINALLY updated my Weight Progress page. However, I hit a snag with the new MAC. I don't have Excel and my weight charts aren't translating well in my Office knock off software. So the table is updated but the charts aren't. I may have to figure out a new system. I completely was off my game this week. No exercise except for 2 days, no motivation to skip those onion rings at Red Robin even though I got a petite burger and a side salad with fat free dressing. If all the options are picked up and bonuses earned, the Dirtbag from Long Beach State will earn $44.5MM over the next 9 years. Some have noted that the Rays are following the blueprint of the Indians from the 90s, by locking up their young talent long-term. However, this move is unprecedented for a player so early in his career, as last night marked only his 7th game as a major leaguer. Buster Olney notes that this deal is not surprising as teams are even starting to consider giving star college players 10-year deals when they are drafted. While there is certainly risk with the deal, historically the risk is minimal for top position prospects.
