'Miss L Fire' splash boots at Shellys We've featured lots of weird and wonderful Wellington boots here at Shoewawa over the years, but I think these may just be the first wedge heeled wellies I've come across! Actually, I think they're possibly the prettiest wellies I've seen too, with their floral design, and at least the wedge is small enough not to really be noticeable! They're £40, which seems like a lot to pay for a pair of rain boots to me, but if you live somewhere very rainy they could be a sound investment. They're also available in black and blue floral and polka dot designs.

I'm quite taken by the bursts of red petals on the off-white background, which is somehow kept from being too messy by a neat black and white striping effect at the soles. An extremely practical buckle at the top of the boot allows easy adjustment to calf-size fits, and looks quite smart, too! 2007-09-21 23:43:00 Tory Burch's Winnie wellies keep out the rain with a hint of style I'd love for wellingtons to be only necessary in festival season, but I've just looked outside my window and it is quite frankly bordering on torrential out there. While the lumpen garden green welly isn't exactly what you want to be seen in on the high street, there are alternatives. I never thought I'd see a designer 'rain boot' in my life, but these Tory Burch Winnie boots have proven me wrong on that. The patent banding and logo give these a little edge of style to say "I have to keep the rain out, but I don't have to look like a garden gnome". They're available from Shopbop for $295. Perhaps a little bit too much to splash out (sorry) on rain wear for some, but then I do live in Manchester...

2007-08-29 09:10:00 I just read in Second City Style that Wellies are becoming hotter and hotter (thanks Kate Moss and the Glastonbury gang)The wilder the Wellies the better and aren't i just the luckiest, i have some yummy leopards print ones!The only problem is i bought them just before the start of winter in South Africa, then i moved to Costa Rica (way 2 humid 2 wear them even though its very rainy) then i went to England for a few days (jippppeeee i wore them once!) now i am in Malta (36 degrees everyday and NO rain) and only back in Cape Town when summer starts again! :( Boo i have missed winter with my wellies!!!Well, for everyone in the world that's hitting fall next month go get yourself a pair! 2007-04-18 12:27:00 When we thought about the idea of the veggie garden we put some thought into how we were going to water it, especially with a long hot Summer forecast.At about the same time we received the latest Wiggly Wigglers catalogue, while looking through we found the ideal solution, The Drought Buster . I tried it out this morning and it is really easy. I had to attach an extra bit of hose onto the end , for it to reach the water butt, using the connector that is all ready attached.You don't have to wear wellies or stand in the bath to do it , but I like to wear my wellies whenever I can.After I gave the pump a few squeezes gravity took over and the water began to flow. After about five minutes the bath was empty and the water butt was half full. It just goes to show you how much water you use in a bath.I am going to leave the water to settle for a day or two before I water the veggies with it.We just hope that we don't get bubble bath flavoured carrots.We can see how useful the drought bu...
