An Open Letter to General Wesley Clark (Ret.)
2008-07-10 06:41:00
-By Vince Johnson Dear Wesley: Your recent comments on MEET THE PRESS June 29, 2008 are disturbing and entitled to rebuttal: For example: You said: ?He (John McCain) hasn’t held executive responsibility. That large squadron in the Navy that he commanded — that wasn’t a wartime squadron.? Don?t you realize that the entire United ...
Gen. Wesley Clark Touches The Third Rail
2008-07-04 15:45:00
Today, Independence Day, seems like a perfectly appropriate time to praise two war heroes: Lt. Commander John McCain, shot down in 1967 over North Vietnam by an enemy missile; and Army Captain (now General) Wesley Clark, shot four times three years later by a Viet Cong soldier. You would think these two war heroes would have ...

WESLEY CLARK SHOULD TURN IN HIS STARS
2007-10-03 20:03:00
THE LEFT WING MOUTHPIECE LIES THROUGH HIS TEETH Rush Limbaugh is the target of a now all too obviously orchestrated series of attacks The American leftists are out to get Rush Limbaugh. While this is certainly a compliment to his effectiveness in American politics, it is disturbing because we can see the left wing moonbats lying outright - just because they disagree. Two days ago, Harry Reid (who is now despised by his constituents in the State of Nevada) threw a gigantic hissy-fit on the floor of the Senate, calling for Limbaugh to apologize for comments Rush never made. In turn, the next day, Rush invited Reid to join him on his program and repeat the lies there. There was only the sound of crickets. Now today on msnbc (bs-nbc?), the puppet General Clark said that Mr. Limbaugh has a ‘long history’ of disrespecting our troops and the American military. Now you can hate Limbaugh if you like; you can disagree and think Limbaugh is a right wing whack job. But that Lim...
The Wesley Clark Challenge
2007-10-03 19:12:00
Italics of the twist (not necessary for those with even slight intelligence) from a former soldier and former presidential wannabe. In my opinion the general is fitting in just fine. From one at the Huffer:"Last week, Rush Limbaugh labeled any American soldier who supports an end to the war in Iraq as "phony." We challenged Limbaugh through an email campaign to invite VoteVets.org's Jon Soltz to his show and repeat these same insults to an Iraq war veteran's face. Over 10,000 people responded and emailed Rush -- but to our disappointment, he has refused to respond to our request."Oh the disappointment. How does one repeat that which they didn't actually say or connote? What does it mean when a former general sees things this way...hmmm, how's the war going?DeMediacratic Nation BlogrollsPlease give this Post/Blog a Vote -
Add Bayh To The Veepstakes
2007-09-26 06:37:00
Indiana Senator Evan Bayh added himself to the Clinton veepstakes with his endorsement of his Senate colleague from New York this week. Following two terms as Indiana's governor, Bayh has twice been easily elected to the Senate in the Republican-leaning state. Like the endorsement Clinton recently received from retired General Wesley Clark, Bayh's move is not that surprising. Bayh sits with Clinton on the Senate Armed Services Committee and chaired the Democratic Leadership Council."I believe that the next president of the United States must be experienced and seasoned, must be smart and must be tough. And I believe that Hillary Clinton is all of these things and more," Bayh noted.Bayh had considered his own presidential run in 2008 and despite raising a significant amount of money, he opted out of a bid late last year. His endorsement means little in the primary season, but should Clinton win the nomination, Bayh will certainly be among those considered, along with Tom Vilsac...
Wesley Clark Endorses Clinton
2007-09-17 18:35:00
Retired General Wesley Clark announced his support for Hillary Clinton's presidential bid this weekend. The endorsement is not entirely surprising. Clark was appointed to serve as NATO's supreme allied commander by President Bill Clinton and he's the latest major Democrat from Arkansas to endorse the state's former first lady. Some supporters had hoped Clark would run for the presidency again in 2008. While he never took himself out of the running, his delay of an official decision effectively removed him from serious consideration. Clark's short-lived bid in 2004 was doomed by a late start, campaign missteps, and lofty expectations. He had been drawn to the race, in part, by a draft movement, but rivals questioned both his military service and loyalty to the Democratic Party. Despite winning the Oklahoma primary, he dropped out of the race in favor of John Kerry in early February 2004.Since that ill-fated run, Clark has remained active in politics. He was one of the part...
Gen. Wesley Clark Endorses Hillary Clinton
2007-09-16 23:43:00
The Clinton campaign received a boost yesterday with an announcement from Gen. Wesley Clark (Retired) that he is endorsing Hillary Clinton’s quest for the presidency. His endorsement adds a significant amount of credibility to the notion of having a woman, specifically Hillary Clinton, as Commander-In-Chief; Clark noted: “She will be a great leader for the ...
Wesley Clark Endorses Clinton
2007-09-15 20:35:00
Former General and Supreme Allied Commander (NATO) endorsed Hillary Clinton for President today. Clark was appointed by President Clinton in 1997 and served through 2000. Clark also made a failed bid for President in 2004 after a late and lackluster start.?She?s a remarkable person. She?s had incredible experiences; she?s smart; she?s done her homework,? he said.Of course this only heightens the speculation that Clark will be the Vice Presidential nominee under a Clinton ticket, but that is pushing it.I don't think Clinton made a deal with Evan Bayh, Tom Vilsack and Wesley Clark at the same time.

Assholes of the Week - From Larry Craig to Wesley Clark
2007-09-03 02:42:00
by Paul Krassner *Senator Larry Craig, not only for the opening statement at his press conference — "Thank you all very much for coming out today" — but also for his silly rationalization that when he tap-danced on the shoe of an undercover cop in the adjoining stall, it was only because of his own 'wide stance', thereby breaking Rose Mary Woods excuse record. She testified that, while transcribing Richard Nixon's tape, she answered a phone call, but when reaching for the stop button on the recorder, she mistakenly hit the record button next to it, [unnecessarily] keeping her foot on the pedal, resulting in the infamous 18-1/2-minute gap. When asked to replicate that position, her extremly awkward posture caused political pundits to question the validity of her explanation. *Senator John Kerry, for not ridiculing George Bush's 180-degree turnaround concerning the comparison ...
Thompson's Timing
2007-08-31 22:51:00
Fred Thompson finally made an announcement this week. No, he didn't announce he was running for president, but at least he told us when that would begin running officially--September 6th. There are two prominent lines of thinking relating to the timing of the announcement. One suggests that Thompson waited too long and may have missed his window of opportunity earlier in the summer. The other contends that there was no reason for Thompson to rush in--building a campaign takes time. So which side is correct? Perhaps a little of both.Thompson's buzz probably peaked sometime in June--Thompson had just announced that he would "test the waters" for a presidential bid, John McCain's campaign was collapsing, voters were unhappy with the current crop of Republican candidates, and some polls even showed Thompson leading nationally. Critics argue that Thompson should have entered the race then when he had the momentum, buzz, and excitement. In the interim, he's reported financial numbers t...
Politics: General Wesley Clark on the U.S. preplanning of war about ten day

Fred Thompson: A Glass Half Empty
2007-07-16 18:44:00
Back in March, it seemed more like Internet fancy than political reality. Fred Thompson running for president? Really? But the draft movement picked up steam and Thompson was apparently more serious about running than we thought. Just like that, Thompson found himself atop some state and national polls. Let's take a look, however, at the pessimist's perspective of Fred Thompson's campaign.Where's the beef? During his eight years in the Senate (he filled the remaining term of Al Gore, before being elected to a full term in 1996), Thompson failed to lead the way on any significant piece of legislation. He chaired the Governmental Affairs Committee, investigated President Clinton's campaign fundraising, but eventually produced little of substance. Where were Thompson's conservative ideas, vision, and leadership then? His elected experience will be little more than that of Barack Obama, who's frequently criticized for it. In a race with a war hero in John McCain and America's Ma...
2008 Tidbits
2007-06-06 21:40:00
? Democratic Representative William Jefferson was indicted this week on bribery charges, after investigators found money in his freezer in a raid of his home in 2005. Despite the suspicion, Jefferson was re-elected by New Orleans voters in 2006. He has temporarily resigned his position on the powerful Ways and Means Committee, but Republicans are seeking for his ouster from the House. After running against Republican corruption in 2006, Democrats would be wise to distance themselves from Jefferson. Though Jefferson appears unwilling to give up his seat, Democrats may want to push for expulsion to move past the scandal quickly and show that they remain tough on corruption.? Wesley Clark, a 2004 Democratic presidential candidate, suggested in an interview with The Politico that he's still open to a run in 2008. Clark backers shouldn't get their hopes up. A late start helped derail his chances in 2004, so it seems unlikely that he'd be willing to repeat that mistake. Clark remains a...
Fred Thompson's Impact
2007-05-30 19:17:00
As we suggested yesterday, Fred Thompson's emergence as a legitimate candidate for president was a matter of if, not when. Thompson is preparing to enter a more official phase of the presidential campaign, though he remains far from a full-fledged candidate. Thompson will reportedly file papers with the FEC June 4 that will allow him to begin to raise money and his campaign will coordinate a "First Day Founders" fundraising blitz that day. He talked with more than 100 donors and supporters about this yesterday and the campaign will use the event to make a big splash and show their strength starting out. He will avoid having to file second quarter fundraising reports on June 30, though he will have to file retroactively, and restrictions on his public speaking (he subs frequently for Paul Harvey). Thompson isn't expected to officially join the race until sometime around the Fourth of July holiday, though the timetable remains unclear. Such an announcement could come in Nashville, T...
Poll Vaulting: Iowans Call For Al Gore And Condoleezza Rice
2007-05-20 05:48:00
An interesting new poll from The DesMoines Register gives high marks amongst likely Democratic primary voters to Al Gore and high marks amongst likely Republican primary voters to Condi Rice, Newt Gingrich and Fred Thompson… Usually, I don’t find polls particularly meaningful, but they can be interesting or entertaining; this poll is both. The one ...
Wesley Clark: The possibility of a U.S. attack on Iran
2007-03-08 22:27:02
The below interview is a 50min interview on the possibility of a U.S. attack on Iran.  Ret. General Wesley Clark also talks about a wdie range of issues including the right for soliders to say they are not going to fight in Iraq, the legality of the Iraq war and impeaching President Bush. Listen to the interview here   From the interview:  ?This is a memo that describes how we?re going to take out seven countries in five years, starting with Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and, finishing off, Iran.? I said, ?Is it classified?? He said, ?Yes, sir. Bookmark to:
Tucker Carlson rips Wesley Clark
0000-00-00 00:00:00
We have had some fun with Tucker Carlson here.    Yet give Tucker his due.  He makes Wesley Clark look like a babbling idiiot,  watch. Clark's problem with free speech is limited to the right.    Clark doesn't mind NPR spouting socialism on the government dole. Hat tip:   Allah Pundit, Hot Air.
