OK, so that little acoustic cover that Mark Ronson and Dan Merriweather did of "You Don't Know What Love Is" (originally by the White Stripes) was more than just a spur-of-the-moment whim on Mark's radio show. We posted the audio from it, and we still get more search hits from that post than anything else we've written about. A full-scale studio version of the song is now in the works, and the official demo track was played on Mark's show a couple weeks ago. I have some issues with it, but I'll save final judgements for when the final track surfaces. So far, I'm gonna say that it has a lot of promise. I heard the demo track of the Winehouse cover of "Valerie" on Amy's last B-Sides album, and it was several shades weaker than the borderline-classic final product, which gives me hope that this can grow into a kickass single later this year.

Plaza de mala muerte. Sol de justicia. Y al ruedo salen… ni más ni menos que Jack y Meg, o White Stripes, lo que más rabia os dé, ataviados con pseudo-trajes de torero (más mejicano que español) para poner imágenes a uno de los peores singles que desde mi punto de vista han sacado en mucho tiempo. Conquest es su nuevo sencillo, y la estética latina que han elegido ha sido más bien poco acertada, poco graciosa y sí algo chabacana. El aire cutre que rezuma todo el clip, por muy a propósito que esté hecho, acompañado de la horrorosa versión que han hecho del original de Corky Robbins y Johny Bosworth es realmente lamentable. White Stripes get their own Lomography camerasDon't look now, but Jack and Meg are at it again. Yep, the White Stripes are once more reaching out to the retro lovin', geeked-out crowd by offering up a set of 'all-plastic,' limited edition Lomography cameras. The JACK Holga and MEG Diana+ seem to only differ from their standard counterparts externally, but fans of the band are sure to appreciate the Rob Jones-designed motifs. Notably, the JACK Holga Starter Kit includes 'an additional Fisheye lens, three filter set and a custom Peppermint lens filter,' while MEG's version comes with the 'Nobody Knows How To Talk To Children' ringflash and a custom Peppermint Film Mask filter. Both kits are available as we speak for $180 apiece, but you better make haste, as only 3,000 of each camera were constructed. Check out a few more looks after the break.(Via Engadget.)
