Pat Fitzgerald Leads Discussion with Former Bears, Wildcats at Great Lakes
2011-04-18 02:39:00
With his military style buzz haircut, overt intensity, and passion for the many qualities unique to both college football and the military, Pat Fitzgerald would fit in quite well with the United States Armed Forces. The leader of the Northwestern Wildcats program held a team practice at Naval Station Great Lakes, and plans to hold another Wildcats practice on base this summer. On Thursday, in cooperation with the Great Lakes Naval Museum, celebrating the proud heritage of athletes at Great Lakes, Fitzgerald led a roundtable discussion of five former Sailor-Athletes who played for Great Lakes during World War II. Athletes on dais included: Ralph Jecha (football 1953-1954) and played for Northwestern 1950-1952, and in the NFL for both the...
Illini Utterly Destroy Wildcats; Northwestern 0-3 in Big 10, Illinois 3-0
2011-01-07 04:53:00
Last year's game was A BIT closer than this. When the Illinois Fighting Illini took on their rival Northwestern Wildcats for the first time in 2010, the annual meeting in Champaign resulted in an exciting and very high-scoring overtime thriller in which the Cats took care of the ball astonishingly well, committed very few mistakes, but fell just short. This battle to be Chicago's Big Ten team, was quite a different story. It was long settled by halftime, as the Illini came out shooting fire and smoke like the mid '90s "NBA Jam Session" arcade game. They made their first six threes, and shot a ridiculous 82% for the half. They also out-rebounded NU in the first twenty minutes...
Triple Dog Dare: Bulls, Wildcats predictions
2010-12-31 19:37:00
I bid you a fond farewell, 2010. May you never rear your ugly head again. 2011 better be ready for me; I'm sharpening my claws. Here now, my picks. Let's see yours. Bulls vs. New Jersey, 2 p.m. WGN Bulls 91, Nets 75. The Nets really need Carmelo Anthony. Does he want them? Northwestern at Purdue, 11 a.m. ESPN2 Boilermakers 74, Wildcats 69. Boilermaker Pete scares me. Worst mascot ever. Notre Dame vs. Miami, 1 p.m. CBS Hurricanes 31, Fighting Irish 26. Another heaping bowl of disappointment for ND. Triple Dog Dare: Wildcats, Heat predictions
2010-12-23 19:25:00
I was nosing around the office and found a Christmas present @redeyesportsguy plans on giving me. Sadly, it wasn't a cat. Here now, my picks. Let's see yours. Northwestern vs. Mount St. Mary's, 2 p.m. Wildcats 86, Mountaineers 72. 'Cats scale The Mount, as its known. If they fall, they'll land on their feet. Pittsburgh vs. Carolina, 7 p.m. NFL Network Steelers 30, Panthers 13. Troy Polamalu might actually dismember someone on field. Phoenix vs. Miami, 9:30 p.m. TNT Suns 100, Heat 95. The Sun is stronger than any Heat on earth. True fact. To challenge Whizzer, simply enter your predictions in the comments box. If you beat him, you'll win a RedEye hat or shirt or something. Can the Wildcats break a press?
2010-12-21 19:48:00
Well against St. John's tonight we'll find out tonight. In the past this hasn't been one of Northwestern's strong suits. On the other hand, this is where Alex Marcotullio and JerShon Cobb might really be useful. Both seem comfortable handling the ball and if the Red Storm can force Michael Thompson to give it up then maybe those two can carry some of the load.Things to know:Northwestern vs. St. John's from Madison Square Garden, 9:30 p.m. - MSG Holiday Festival Championship GameTV: MSGRadio: WGNLive-blog: Here again tonight! (Last night's was a lot of fun.)Ken Pomeroy: St. John's 70, Northwestern 69 (45%) in 64 possessionsAccuscore: Northwestern 72.1, St. John's 71.7 (53.9%)...
2000 Northwestern Wildcats: Innovators of the Spread Offense
2010-11-20 17:08:00
When it comes to Northwestern Wildcats football, everyone usually brings up 1995, and how that team re-defined the 'Cats. But I've always said that it's really a different Big Ten championship team, the 2000 squad, who really ushered in a new era for NU. Because that was the first year Randy Walker installed the spread-option offensive system, and the program has showcased exciting, fun to watch, usually pass-happy football ever since. And the spread has really taken off across college football since then, making the Cats rather avant-garde. And it makes sense, considering the phrase "SPREAD far the fame" is right there in the fight song. I discussed the system with Damien Anderson, star tailback on that bellwether team,...
Triple Dog Dare: Wildcats, Bulls, Hawks predix
2010-11-13 15:05:00
The worst thing about waking up for college football? Waking up for college football. Amirite? OK. I'm going back to sleep. Here now, my picks. Let's see yours. Northwestern vs. Iowa, 11 a.m. ESPN Hawkeyes 40, Wildcats 28. Iowa is just too good for the Wildcats. And that's not just my feline hat showing through. Bulls vs. Washington, 7 p.m. WGN Bulls 99, Wizards 89. Gilbert Arenas poops in his teammates shoes? He's stealing my game. Blackhawks at Nashville, 7 p.m. CSN Hawks 3, Predators. At this point, maybe the Hawks are better off on the road. To challenge Whizzer, simply enter your predictions in the comments box. If you beat him, you'll win a RedEye hat or shirt or...

Wildcats Give Auburn Bowl Win, "Nine" a Treat For The Eyes!
2010-01-01 21:22:00
My wife rarely, if ever, watches football with me, but today, we sat watched intently, the end of the Outback Bowl.  She got quite an education.Northwestern had been down all day, with Senior QB Mike Kafka throwing five interceptions, including one returned 100 yards for a score for Auburn.  Kafka threw over 70 passes and gained more than 500 yards through the air. The Cats had come back twice from 14 point deficits, to tie the game and had chances to win the contest.Field goal kicker, Stefan Demos, should have to find his own way home from Tampa.  Demos missed field goal attempts of 48, 43 and 37 yards, and also had an extra point blocked.  NU should have won...

2009-03-27 20:46:00
The Kentucky Wildcats have fired head basketball coach Billy Gillispie after just two seasons on the job.  The move comes after a disappointing but not disastrous season. The Wildcats went 22-14 and made the NIT.  However the 14 losses were the second most in the school’s history.  Gillispie was 40-27 during his two year enslavement to ...

The Aging Disco Diva is a bit blue.... my beloved Wildcat men's basketball season is over. We fought the good fight and I am proud of how hard the team played; though a bit disappointed with the brain-dead reaction from some of our so-called fans. As you might have surmised the team lost this evening. When I need some cheering up I have a small group of video titles that just make me smile or laugh. Here are some scenes from my favorite funny movies:Airplane!Princess BrideO Brother Where Art Thou? This is Spinal TapAnything directed by Christopher GuestComing to America (Eddie Murphy is such a dick in real life, but great in this movie)Anything directed by John Waters (The Aging Disco Diva is one sick puppy)The Addams Family and Addams Family ValuesRuthless People (I've watched it probably close to 100 times and still laugh)Young Frankenstein---IMHO the funniest movie ever created. period. My Cousin VinnyLady Wildcats play in the first round of the NCAA tournament tomorrow at 11:...

Wildcat NewsThe elephant has left the building and the Aging Disco Diva can bask in the glow of a big, big, big, big Kansas State University Men's basketball win this evening:(11) Kansas State 80 --- (6) USC 67Kansas State's Kiddie Corps Moving OnBy PAUL NEWBERRYTurns out, Michael Beasley and O.J. Mayo weren't the only freshmen on the court.Redshirt freshman Bill Walker scored 22 points, true freshmen Jacob Pullen and Ron Anderson also reached double figures, and Kansas State's Kiddie Corps moved on in the NCAA tournament, beating Mayo-led USC 80-67 in the opening round Thursday night.Beasley overcame early trouble to have another big game for the Wildcats (21-11), scoring 23 points and grabbing 11 rebounds for the 27th double-double of his brilliant ? and likely only ? college season. The NBA beckons, after all.But 11th-seeded Kansas State is used to big things from Beasley. It was his supporting cast that made the difference.Walker carried the load in the early going, scoring...

2008-03-14 20:46:00
The Aging Disco Diva traveled yesterday to the land of the Chickenhawks for a meeting, and though I did enjoy (as always) seeing my awesome colleagues and having as much fun as one can possibly have at a mandatory meeting (which given that I have the world's greatest job usually means a lot of fun) I woke up this morning with a massive headache. If this was a hangover headache I would at least have some great, if somewhat blurry, memories to tide me over, but alas...this is just a plain ole'"You-are-getting-too-damn-o-ld-to-wake-up-at-4:30am-and-tra-vel-three-hours-to -and-three-hours-from-a-meeting-" headache, which are not nearly as much fun as a champagne induced brain splitter. I tried the normal cure: two espressos and a box of slightly aged yellow Peeps but this darn headache will not abate.I must be 100% tonight for the big game (Big 12 Championship Tournament: KSU vs the Aggies, coached by Mark The Turd) The team needs me!!! Rick Pitino And Former Wildcats Opening Dunkin’ Donuts
2008-03-12 10:17:00
A coach can be a lot of things. A teacher, a leader, a father figure, and a role model to name a few. Or in the case of Rick Pitino, a business partner. The Louisville Cardinals basketball coach has teamed up with former Kentucky Wildcats Jamal Mashburn and Walter McCarty to start Fast Break Doughnuts LLC of Lexington. They plan to open 17 Dunkin’ Donuts in the Central Kentucky area in the next few years, and the first one will open in May in Lexington. Doing business together is nothing new for Rick Pitino and Jamal Mashburn. From the Lexington Herald-Leader: In 2000, an investor group including Mashburn, Pitino and Avare completed the purchase of 70 percent of Toyota on Nicholasville and the Lexus Store of Lexington on U.S. 27 in Nicholasville. Two years later, the trio picked up Ron McCauley as a business partner and bought Toyota of Richmond. McCauley eventually bought out his partners. He sold the dealership in 2007. Other restaurant ventures for Mashburn, Pitino and Avar...
Ho No, or Whatta a Little Spitzer!
2008-03-11 20:20:00
This morning the Aging Disco Diva found herself in the midst of a crisis---I plunged my coffee scoop into the canister and came up with air. A look inside revealed a horror that rivaled anything Tobe Hooper could put on film---a few lousy coffee granules, not even enough for an espresso snort.Wobbling and weaving under the effects of extreme caffeine withdrawal I managed to crawl into the exploding Pinto. Scraping dried, weeks old latte debris from the bottom of a discarded Styrofoam cup I found in the back seat and licking them off of my trembling fingers gave me the strength to drive the half mile or so to our local "Pay More and Buy Less" supermarket. I made a bee line to the coffee isle and dumped a scoop of industrial strength coffee beans into the grinder, placed my open mouth underneath the hopper and pushed the button.Within seconds the twitching stopped and the fog began to lift. I placed twenty bags of coffee beans (enough to last the week) into the cart and headed to the ...

Love Is In The Air...

Wildcat NewsSenior Night...love is in the airThe Aging Disco Diva has never hidden the fact that she thinks Clent Stewart is an awesome kid (Yes, I am an old lady, so I can call him a kid) who not only is a very good basketball player, a fantastic student and a wonderful representative of all that is great about Kansas State University, he is an amazing young man who has had a lot of adversity in his life that he has handled with dignity and class. Last night was senior night and traditionally the seniors give their mother's roses and a hug before tip-off. Vanessa Stewart, his mom, passed away last month but was smiling last night as Clent's girlfriend Stephanie stepped in to receive the roses...and a little something extra:Wildcat Women's basketball newsThe woman play tonight---time to pluck those chickenhawks ladies, and grab that Big 12 regular season title. No 19 Kansas State will look to capture at least a share of its second Big 12 regular season title on Wednesday night, a...
African Crotch Disease
2008-03-03 22:31:00
Read It and ItchThis morning as I nibbled daintily on my cholesterol clogging pastries and serenely sipped my double-strength espresso I stumbled upon the latest Amy Winehouse news: She has the creeping crud on her face and it is highly contagious. The singer has been diagnosed with impetigo, her spokesman confirms to PEOPLE.It's a bacterial skin infection that causes pimple-like lumps ? and is "is highly contagious, and scratching or touching the sores is likely to spread the infection to other parts of the body as well as to other people," according to the Mayo Clinic's Web site. As for how the singer's feeling, "She's fine," a pal tells PEOPLE. "She's not hiding away. She's never been one to care what people think."That is almost enough to take a Disco Diva off her feed... Yuck, whatta visual.Unfortunately Amy's creeping face crud story brought back some nasty flashbacks from my diva-in-training days.It was the last month of school, during my senior year, and we had just fi...
Freshman Phenoms Teams Struggling As Dance Is Upon Us
2008-03-02 03:09:00
O.J Mayo and Michael Beasley are two of the best freshman playing college basketball this season. Both players are averaging over 20 points per contest, and both decided not to go to the elite basketball programs like Duke, North Carolina, Kansas or Indiana. Despite how much game these future NBA All-Stars have, both Mayo and Beasley are having a hard time getting to the big dance next month. They both are seeing that basketball is a team game, and neither of these guys have the supporting cast to carry them into the field of 65. So they have to carry their teams themselves. Beasley looked like his Wildcats had all but wrapped up an at large bid. However they are back on the bubble again after losing four out of the last five games including losses to Nebraska and Texas Tech. USC has won two straight since losing at home to arch rival UCLA, but still is looking for another good win to put on their resume. They beat UCLA at UCLA earlier in January, but that is their only good win. Lo...

A code red alert has been issued after news hit that Starbucks will be closed for three hours today. Papa Spears has made arrangements for emergency provisions and the mansion is stocked with plenty of frappuccinos for Britney. The Aging Disco Diva actually lives in a town that does not have a Starbucks (Yes, I am languishing in Java Hell) so she is glad to see the world will share her pain, if even for a few hours.Everyone will have to do what I am forced to do: get a minion...I mean.... beloved employee, to do something called BREW A POT OF COFFEE. For the cost of a single fancy Starbucks cuppa I can buy the ingredients necessary to make enough coffee to last a week for a normal person....or half a morning for an Aging Disco Diva. Since my concoctions are 40 calories for the coffee+creamer+syrup+Splenda or 30 calories for a soy latte, I think it is best (for the sake of my ever expanding girth) that there are no Starbucks in this podunk town. Besides, I did try Starbucks twice and...

Before discussing the awesome weekend our Kansas State athletes had I thought it would be fun to share this video clip of Will Ferrell, proudly sporting his KSU sweatshirt. Here is the description of the clip (warning they do use the "f" word so if you are faint of heart... Don't f'n play the f'n clip!):What in the hell is Will Ferrell doing in the Little Apple (Manhattan, Kansas)? Eric Melin, co-host of Scene-Stealers.com, caught up with the comedy genius while on the first stop of his Funny Or Die College Comedy Tour. He was also promoting his new movie about the American Basketball Association, "Semi-Pro." After taking a brief tour of Manhattan's highpoints (i.e., the bars), Eric journeyed to a sold-out Bramlage Coliseum where Will f***ing Ferrell performed with Zach Galifianakas, Demetri Martin, and Nick Swardson. I love it....."SpongeBob is my man, he is my homie!" Michael is such a fun kid to listen to.It seems that Dick Vitale agrees with the Aging Disco Diva's assessment of Michael Beasley! Hey, Baby...finallyFresh-faced Beasley quite a dandy for K-StateBy Dick Vitale, special for USA TODAYCould this be déjà vu?Last year a Diaper Dandy named Kevin Durant dominated the player of the year awards, winning the Naismith, the John Wooden and Associated Press player of the year.Well, we could be seeing another Diaper Dandy sweeping those trophies again in a season that has the deepest freshman class I've seen in my 29 years at ESPN.My friends, Michael Beasley of Kansas Sate has been awesome, baby, with a capital A.Right from the start, when he had 32 points and 24 rebounds in his debut, he sent a message that he could be the premier player in the land. What really impresses me about Beasley is that he plays within the team concept. He set a school record Saturday against Oklahoma State with his...

Kansas State Women Continue the Beat-Down
2008-02-12 05:03:00
Our men?s team are not the only Wildcat?s on the hard boards who are kicking butt and taking names. Our women are playing fantastic. In the past some of our women?s teams allowed themselves to be pushed around?. whenever we came up against a more physical team we seemed to fade into the woodwork. Not this year---this is a team of stud muffins and I love their aggressive play Here is a recap of the big win against the hated KU Chickenhawks this Saturday:Kstatesports.comMarlie-s Gipson had 20 points and 14 rebounds on Saturday, helping No. 18 Kansas State overcome a ragged first half for a 64-58 win over rival Kansas. Kimberly Dietz scored 12 of her 15 points on 3-pointers in the first half and Ashley Sweat added 12 points for Kansas State (16-6, 8-1), off to its best Big 12 start since going 14-1 in 2002-03. Gipson also had four assists and blocked three shots. Kansas State did its best to collapse on Kansas center Krysten Boogaard, but the 6-foot-5 freshman was just too m...
Beasley named Big 12 Rookie of the Week
2008-02-12 04:49:00
It was deja vu all over again as Michael Beasley was named the Big 12 Rookie of the Week...AGAIN. Yes, he is "A man amongst boys"Kstatesports.comIRVING, Texas ? Freshman forward Michael Beasley became the first player in Big 12 history to win Phillips 66 Rookie of the Week honors for three consecutive weeks on Monday, as he averaged 29.0 points and 13.0 rebounds in a pair of Wildcat victories last week.Beasley?s five rookie honors this season is tied for the second-most in Big 12 history with Texas A&M?s Clifton Clark (1998-99) and one less than the record set by Texas? Kevin Durant in 2006-07. The player of the week award is also Beasley?s seventh overall this season after he earned Rookie of the Week honors on Nov. 19, 2007, Dec. 26, 2007, Jan. 28, 2008 and Feb. 4, 2008 and Player of the Week accolades on Nov. 12, 2007 and Jan. 14, 2008.Beasley averaged 29.0 points on 57.5 percent shooting (23-of-40), including 50.0 percent (4-of-8) from 3-point line, for the week with 13.0 r...

There was a wonderful article about the relationship between Clent Stewart and his mom. As I write this her funeral is going on and it seemed appropriate to share this with all of you....NewsOK.comSat February 9, 2008K-State's 'motivator' deals with tragic lossBy Andrea CohenStaff WriterClent Stewart drove from Manhattan, Kan., to Norman early Monday morning to tell his mother he loved her.On her deathbed, she responded: "Play hard.?Play hard. Study hard. These were messages Vanessa Stewart ingrained in her son as he was growing up in Tulsa. She passed her wisdom to Clent, now a senior at Kansas State, one last time on Monday. She died Tuesday after a long struggle with breast cancer."My dad called me Sunday at one in the morning to let me know she wasn't doing very well,? Stewart said. "He never told me ?Come down here right now.' He said ?Do what you have to do. Take care of your responsibilities.' That's exactly what my mom would say.?Stewart left first thing Monday morni...
Will Ferrell a Wildcat!
2008-02-08 23:44:00
Some fun K-State stuff...Will Farrell is one of those performers that I don?t care for as far as the roles he plays ( the exceptions being ?Elf?, More Cowbell, and his Pearl, the landlord skits,) but that I like as a person. He seems like a real fun guy who does not take himself too seriously and anyone who is comfortable enough to showcase his?how to put this? less than stellar bod, to make people laugh is ok in my book. Will has gone up a few more notches in my book after he performed at Kansas State last week:Will wearing the Purple Pride colors! Will with head football coach Ron PrinceMichael Beasley, Will Ferrell and Bill WalkerMichael Beasley will be a millionaire someday (hopefully AFTER he spends four years at K-State) but he is such a ?man-child? that it is refreshing to see him enjoy life. Evidently Mike covets an iPod:Mike and the iPodMike and the iPod?the sequelHere is another fun video of the guys goofing at the post game press conferences:
I'm so Tired...
2008-02-01 23:43:00
The Aging Disco Diva is really dragging her polyester clad butt today. I hate it when I am feeling less than great but not quite sick enough to justify lying in bed all day. The espresso transfusions are just not kicking in and I am so tired. Time to cue up the Beatles:I'm so tired, I haven't slept a winkI'm so tired, my mind is on the blinkI wonder should I get up and fix myself a drinkNo,no,no.I usually don?t watch the Jimmy Kimmel Show during the school year but I was up late last night and had the TV on in the background while getting caught up on some paperwork. It was his anniversary show and Sarah Silverman (his girlfriend) was a guest?Sarah is definitely an acquired taste, but this skit was actually really funny and Matt Damon was hysterical. Jimmy has had a running gag for years where at the end of his show he says something to the effect that ?I want to extend my apologies to Matt Damon, we ran out of time so we can?t bring him on?Sam I am?Sam Lufti appears to be somet...

I got very little sleep last night and am still on an adrenaline rush. Here are some great videos of last night's game and celebrations:
The Streak Ends! Wildcats Win.
2008-01-31 06:30:00
I know I said that I would not be posting this evening but the Aging Disco Diva is lit up like Christmas tree...I spent the greater part of this evening screaming my head off, pacing like a woman possessed and consuming adult beverages as I watched my Wildcats BEAT our much hated rival. Damn that sounds good. There is no way I will be able to fall asleep for hours... I am still on an adrenalin high. I cried like a baby at the end of this game. Only a fellow Wildcat could understand the depth of the pain we have suffered for the last 24 years. In fact I tivo'd the game and am watching it again. Hell, I might watch it two or three times before I go to bed.Final score KSU 84 and KU 75...and that was despite some really crappy refereeing. Beasley was practically violated several times during the game and nothing was called. For once though, I will admit that KU actually had SOME calls made against them and Bill Toupee Self about flipped his rug several times. And oh yeah...Remember Ole...
Sunflower Showdown

Obama in the house!Barack Obama was visiting the Aging Disco Diva's stompin' grounds today; in fact he spoke at a town less than an hour away. I would have loved to have seen him speak, but alas, I had to work today and could not leave my home office. I am a proud independent voter who does not believe in party affiliations but I do like Obama and have decided to give him my endorsement...for some odd reason the press has not reported my oh so important backing, LOL. EL DORADO, Kan. - For all the talk about Barack Obama's quest to be the first black president, his visit to his grandfather's hometown Tuesday was a reminder that it is only half the story. Obama is the son of an African father and a white mother from this heartland state, which holds its presidential caucus Feb. 5. "We're family!" Obama said as he took the stage in a packed community college gymnasium for an event that combined politics with a personal story that does not get a lot of attenti...
Kansas State Wildcats-KU Jayhawks Show Down in 2 Days . . . Who Will Win?
2008-01-28 18:25:00
The two undefeated teams in the Big 12 will go at it in friendly Bramlage Coliseum (only friendly if you are a wildcat). Lately All I have heard is how the Chicken Hawks are going to tame the cats once more. For some reason the Jayhawks think that the...(read more)
Shake It

The Aging Disco Diva is going to have to make this a brief entry. My coffee machine went belly up today right after breakfast and I was involved with conference calls and phone meetings until after 5pm so I was unable to get my java fix. I love having a job that lets me work in my pajamas (yes, those jobs do exist for a lucky few) but the downside is that I have no one around to run and get me a latte. After chewing a few handfuls of espresso grinds to tide me over I headed to the store to get a replacement. My first pot full was injected directly into a vein and the fog is slowly lifting but I am still a bit woozy. The book club will meet again next Tuesday (I think Tuesdays and Thursdays will work fine for our chit chats) Today?s gossip Today was a slow gossip day. There were the usual ?does she have a bump?? rumors centering on Angelina Jolie. The buzz is that she is expecting twins. I might be in the minority in the gossip world, but I really like Angelina. She was a wild ...
Smoke Gets In Your Eyes

Everyone is still reeling about the Heath Ledger news. The latest information is that police did not find any illegal drugs in the apartment and there was no sign that he had been drinking. Some type of sleeping pills were found by his body but there are conflicting reports as to whether it was a prescription sleep medication or an over the counter medication. It is being reported that he had sick with pneumonia. So damn sad.Wildcat News ESPN giving my Wildcats some love Has the time come for the Wildcats? (click to view article)"This might be the year that Kansas State finally beats Kansas in Manhattan. It has been since 1983 that the Wildcats have beat their in-state rival in their own building, but with Bill Walker finally coming around and Michael Beasley still a load inside -- this may be the year. Do not get me wrong, I have KU as my No. 1 team in the country right now, but after watching KSU destroy A&M Saturday night, I am convinced that KSU is KU's next threa...

We received word that Suzanne Pleshette passed away this weekend... I wanted to be her when I grew up. She was beautiful, funny, ballsy and you just knew she wouldn?t take crap off of anyone. In short I adored and envied her. I mean my gosh?.she was married to TROY DONAHUE ? if you ask who is Troy Donahue I owe you a beeyoch slap for making me feel so damn old?(He was a huge hunk back in the day.)Suzanne was also married to Tom Poston, how much fun would that have been? She was a classy lady who will be missed.Today's Gossip: The latest word out of BritneyLand is that she has multiple personalities. Insiders say that besides the normal Britney (yes, I laughed out loud as read that phrase?an oxymoron if I ever saw one) there is ?British Britney? who speaks with a really bad British accent (must be what Madonna suffers from also) and a ?Nympho Britney? who wears pink wigs and shags anything that moves. How could they forget about ?Trailer Trash Britney? who does not understan...
Oh Fight You K-State Wildcats!
2008-01-20 20:05:00
The Aging Disco Diva does not normally blog on weekends but I am trying to find something constructive to do (that does not involve consuming the caloric equivalent of a small, third world country) My all-consuming interests do stretch beyond juicy gossip, expensive chocolate, imported champagne and pool boys with six-pack abs. My two greatest passions are my family and Kansas State University. If I had to choose between my favorite Cheese Cloth Shirt and my beloved Wildcats?well, the shirt would have to go.Though I was born in the center of the disco world (New York of course) I spent my formative boogey years (ages 18-21) as a disco diva tearing up the dance floor in Mother?s Worry, the hot disco spot in Aggieville (Manhattan, Kansas) while attending KSU.Yes, I moved from the Big Apple to the Little Apple to attend college and have never regretted the decision.Aggieville is one of the many reasons why I love Manhattan. It is a six block shopping district built right off campus...
TIM: CMGI, Solar Fun, Gawker and Those Crazy Arizona Wildcats

TIM $14,140 (up $77 on the day) 100% Cash, No Positions  A nice day trade on an oldie, but a goodie, CMGI (Nasdaq: CMGI). Remember them? They were one of the high fliers back during the bubble days, but have fallen on hard times and had to do a reverse split just to get their share price up. That is, until last night’s earnings rep
Wildcats Are Hitting The Ice And Rocking The House

The Wildcats are in the House and they are coming to a city near you! It’s High School Musical in a way that you have never seen it before… on ice! That’s right, the show is High School Musical on Ice and it is one of the “coolest” produ...
Go Wildcats!
2007-11-13 22:27:00
With wins against Georgia and Tennesse, Kentucky can put the Gators into the SEC Championship game. Have I ever told you I've always been a big Wildcats fan? The losses by UGA and UT would creat a three way tie, with Florida being the big winner. They would win the division by virtue of having the best record in the SEC EAST among the teams locked. In Heisman news, Tim Tebow was second in a poll behing Oregon quarterback Dennis Dixon. Tim is 173 of 255 passing (68 percent) for 2,532 yards and 23 touchdowns. He has also rushed for 718 yards and 19 touchdowns on 170 carries.
