Blacks in Paradise Are a Problem
2008-07-13 05:32:00
The Concow Fire, or Humboldt Fire, is a fire burning near a town called Paradise in northern California. It's in Butte County in the foothills of the Northern Sierra Nevada Mountains.I've never been to the area, but I was in Yuba City in 1973 (30 miles away). I went fishing in the Yuba River and caught a smallmouth bass on a lure (Yay!) and went fishing in a strange place called Sutter Bypass, which is a sort of endless twisting mess of bypasses, channels, fake streams, and whatnot, apparently diverted from the Sacramento River. We also used to stop in a place called Orland and buy really great olives in these little farmers' stores. This part of the Sacramento Valley is infernally hot in the summer, and there are all kinds of weird flying bugs out in the evenings, when it barely cools down. There's a lot more water in the Sacramento Valley than in the San Joaquin Valley (farther north), and you see many fields flooded with water to grow rice. The Humboldt Fire is one of the huge ...

Three Cheers for the Fires
2007-10-26 07:53:00
You're sputtering and spitting, I can see you now. But why are you even on this site in the first place? The profile says the purpose of this blog is to anger as many people as possible. Hence, this post.First of all, let me clarify by saying that I am very sorry for all of the firefighters and the poor, low-income, middle-class and rural residents and ranchers who were either injured or lost lives, homes, belongings, pets, vehicles and orchards in the fires. I am also sorry for all of the Americans of any class who died as a result of the fires (for my less humane feelings on the dead illegal aliens who started the Harris fire, see here).I weep for every wild animal and plant lost in the fires: the California spotted owls, Southwestern Willow Flycatchers, Arroyo Toads, Pacific Pocket Mice, San Diego Ambrosias, Pallid Manzanitas, Quino Checkerspots, Hermes Coppers and Thorne's Hairstreaks. One Pacific Pocket Mouse has more inherent decency and value than 20 of San Diego's ultrar...
Good News: Four Illegal Aliens Burn to Death
2007-10-26 06:48:00
Ok, ok, ok, you're all up in arms about the headline, right? Well, just settle down. I'm not cheering because four illegal aliens got killed by the Harris Fire. Yes, they just found their bodies today. Thing is, I am almost positive that these are some of the illegals that set the Harris Fire. How do we know? The Harris Fire was caused by an "illegal campfire" at a "migrant camp" off Harris Ranch Road near Highway 94 in Potrero (map here). That's PC-speak for the campfires that illegal aliens set in the border area when they are crossing. The bodies were found right near where the fire started.Six illegal aliens were caught very soon after the fire started. They said that four members of their party had been killed by the fire, but they had escaped. Some of them were badly burned.Firefighters watch the Harris Fire, a fire started by illegal aliens, once again doing the jobs that Americans just won't do, in this case, the job that Americans won't do was starting a 90,000 acre co...

MSM Blame George Bush for Wildfires in California, and Everything Else
2007-10-25 22:07:00
As predictable as the sun rising in the morning sky, liberals around America blamed George Bush for the wildfires in California. Evidently, George Bush is responsible for the following: 1) Wild Fires; 2) Hurricanes; 3) Tornadoes; 4) Corporate Corruption; 5) Poverty; 6) Crime (nothing specific, just crime in general); 7) Tsunamis; 8) Illiteracy; 9) Sudanese Genocide; 10) Islamic Fundamentalism; 11) Disease; 12) Drug Abuse; and 13) Just about anything bad in the World. I thought these liberals want a wall separating Church and State, yet they honestly believe that George Bush is responsible for the weather? Those who are fans of this blog know that I am not a George Bush supporter; he has allowed spending to get out of control. But, when liberals want to debate whether George Bush caused wildfires in California, someone needs to acknowledge that Al Gore has destroyed all reason in this Country. Honestly, how psychotic does someone have to be so see a hurricane or a wildfire and bla...

California Fire Storm
2007-10-25 06:47:00
Who or what is to blame for the horrendous wild fires in California? Fox News Blames al-QaedaGlenn Beck blames the environmentalistsLibertarian Lew Rockwell blames the SocialistsIt's being blamed on global warmingAnd it's being blamed on the Iraq warI suggested something else to blame yesterday, too many people. In reality it's too many people with little or no planning for the inevitable wild fires. A wild fire of this intensity is not unprecedented and in fact should be expected. In an area where planning for the inevitable earthquake is the norm there has been little or no consideration given to wild fires. Most areas did ban cedar shake roofs several years ago but that's about it. Lew Rockwell was probably the most wrong. What was and is needed is more government intervention. Developments and communities could be designed and built in ways that would minimize fire danger. If the infrastructure can be designed to survive earthquakes they can be designed to minimize the damag...
Congressman Drier: Coming Together to Fight the Wildfires
2007-10-25 03:58:00
The wildfires raging across California have been devastating. Thousands have lost their homes and businesses and record numbers of our fellow citizens have been forced to flee. As the fires continue to burn and the Santa Ana winds continue to blow, there are brave men and women on the frontlines fighting to contain them. And at the same time, a massive effort is underway to help those individuals suffering from this tragedy. The federal government is working with state and local officials to provide fire-fighting assistance and disaster assistance for those who have lost homes and businesses. The bipartisan California Congressional delegation, Governor Schwarzenegger, and President Bush are working together to ensure every need is met. President Bush has already declared a Federal Emergency, which frees up federal resources to help fight the fires. For example, the federal government is providing Modular Airborne Fire Fighting Systems (MAFFS) units to assist the fight. These u...
California Wildfires A Terrorist Attack??
2007-10-25 02:44:00
Well the wildfires in California have been ruled as Arson. But could this have been an attack by Jihadist?? Intellegence shows that this is very possible. This via World Net DailyCalifornia authorities have confirmed some of the wildfires that have triggered the evacuation of about a million people and burned 1,600 structures with damages at more than $1 billion were set deliberately, and a terror watch organization says the circumstances match terror plans the FBI alerted law enforcement to several years ago."In 2003 an FBI memo alerted law enforcement agencies that an al-Qaida terrorist being held in detention had talked of masterminding a plot to set a series of devastating forest fires around the western United States," the National Terror Alert Response Center warned today."It was reported that the detainee, who was not identified, said the plan involved three or four people setting wildfires using timed devices in Colorado, Montana, Utah and Wyoming that would detonate in fore...

California Wildfires Cont'd
2007-10-24 22:09:00
I've been hearing a lot about how much better the federal response to the wildfires has been compared to Hurricane Katrina. Yes, it would appear FEMA and the administration got it right for once, but perhaps we shouldn't be patting the President and his men on his back just yet. There are big differences between Louisiana and California locally that must be looked at.First, if any state in the union is prepared for a natural disaster, it's California. The Golden State lives everyday with the risk of earthquakes, mudslides, flash floods, wildfires, tidal waves, volcano eruptions and on and on. California also has their wealth behind them. They can afford to implement a major disaster plan, and they have to be prepared because they are constantly at the mercy of mother nature.Second, the people of San Diego have certain luxuries, for lack of better word, in this disaster. For one thing, the city is still intact. New Orleans essentially ceased to exist. The entire city was underwater...
