Earlier this month, I had the chance to speak to filmmaker Wong Kar-wai over the phone, as he was in New York City to promote My Blueberry Nights's opening weekend.Having been an admirer of his work for a long time, there's a strange feeling of irony in how I finally got to talk to him, yet it's

CHICAGO ? The publicist for ?My Blueberry Nights? with Natalie Portman, Jude Law, Rachel Weisz, Norah Jones and David Strathairn just sent us the poster art for the new film, which will open in limited U.S. theaters on April 4, 2008. Our Chicago publicists have informed us that the film will open in the Windy City on April 18, 2008. The new poster is below. You can click it to view the image in insanely high resolution. The synopsis for the film follows the poster. In Wong Kar Wai?s debut English-language feature, the internationally acclaimed director takes his audience on a dramatic journey across the distance between heartbreak and a new beginning. After a rough break-up, Elizabeth (played by songstress Norah Jones in her screen debut) sets out on a journey across America and leaves behind a life of memories, a dream and a soulful new friend - a café owner (Jude Law) - all while in search of something to mend her broken heart. Waitressing her way through the country, Elizabeth b...
In the Mood for Love (????, 2000)

Although director Wong Kar-Wai is a household name among film critics and international cinema aficionados, he has yet to become fully acknowledged by the American audience. Actually, the vast number of the world’s great filmmakers still unknown to the American public puts PB immensely ill at ease, but that’s another discussion altogether. So in honor ...

Must Watch: Wong Kar Wai's My Blueberry Nights Trailer We've been following Wong Kar Wai's My Blueberry Nights since it debuted at the Cannes Film Festival last year. A new full-length trailer has debuted online and really needs to be watched. There is a whole handful of fantastic actors in this, from the gorgeous Natalie Portman to the charming Rachel Weisz to David Strathairn and Jude Law. However, I'm concerned not only at Natalie's accent, but that this trailer doesn't make this seem too good at all. I'm hoping it's just another case of a poorly cut trailer. After watching this a couple of times, I must retract my statement above. I don't know whether it's the fact that I'm at Sundance or tired as all hell, or a combination of both, but my desire to see this has just peaked. It looks like everything that a film fest indie movie should be with heart, great visuals, and a great story. I wish it was playing at Sundance! Watch the trailer for Wong Kar Wai's My Blueberry ...

Upad?e anio?y [Duo luo tian shi, Fallen Angels] (1995), re?. Wong Kar Wai

Na dzie? dziecka dostali?my bardzo ?adnie wydany box filmów Wong Kar-Waia . W jego sk?ad wchodz? 4 filmy: "Chunking Express ", "Upad?e Anio?y" , "Spragnieni mi?o?ci" i "2046". To historia trójki bohaterów mieszkaj?cych w Hong Kongu. Wong Chi-Ming jest p?atnym zabójc?. Zlecenia dostaje od swojego agenta - kobiety. Nie znaj? si? dobrze. Spotykaj? rzadko. Na ogó? zlecenia zabójca dostaje od niej faksem. Lubi tak ?y?, bo odpowiada mu to, ?e kto? za niego wszystko planuje, a on tylko musi wykona? zadanie. He Zhiwu jest niemow?. Jego ojciec jest w?a?cicielem podrz?dnego hotelu w Hong Kongu. Ch?opak lub...
