2007-08-24 09:09:00 Its something about custard shops that make it uncomfortable for black folks. I know that sound dam near racist, but its true nonetheless. I don’t mean them kind where you walk up to the window, I’m talking about the ones with that are like custard Mc Donald’s. Ask anybody black and they’ll tell you, they just won’t be able to tell you why. It just seems like the old white ladies a little more jumpy and the fathers a tad more protective when black folks are around. The excuse me’s sometimes sound like threats and every time you look up at somebody, they are already looking up at you. It’s not an outright refusal of service, nothing that cut an dried, but the air seem to have a few burst of “you’re not welcome here.†Or “state your business and go!†sprayed in it like darkie repellent from an aerosol can. You couldn’t put to words exactly why it feels prejudice, you just know it feels that way. Its like smoke down the wrong pipe, it butterflies your stomach....

If this was to ever happen here, the world would know and they would respond in a second, they'd have to. You can help, though, and wonder about small town America and all those small towns we saw over the years be wiped away by the worst weather events on earth. Like Xenia, Ohio, Dunlap, Indiana, Homestead, Florida, Andover, Kansas, Moore, Oklahoma, Jarrell, Texas, New Orleans and The Louisiana and Mississippi Gulf Coast, Enterprise, Alabama, The Villages, Florida.I wonder how they are today, and I wonder what advice they have for the people of Greensburg.

2007-03-03 18:14:02 I don’t care how the financial experts try to smooth over and explain away the over-inflated stock market bubble. It gives you a nice glance at exactly what you have and how fast you can lose it when “investing” in the stock market. They used fear to scare you away from buying real estate, you bought their IOUs instead. Now, do you feel more comfortable and secure with that IOU or a tangible brick and mortar house? For the week, the Dow fell 3.3 percent, the S&P 500 lost 4.4 percent and the Nasdaq fell 5.9 percent. For the Dow and the S&P 500, it was their biggest weekly point drop since the week ended July 19, 2002. And for the Nasdaq, it was the poorest weekly showing since the week ended Sept. 21, 2001, the first week of trading after the 9/11 terror attacks. There is now a good chance the federal reserve will re-think and lower their rates, they have to try and balance(manipulate) the stock market which is only built on a balance of fear vs positive s... |
