2008-01-10 23:21:00 A few days ago I posted an article about my wrapper API which unifies the mDNSResponder and JmDNS packages behind a single interface, but I neglected to provide usage examples or a usage guide. I’ll try and correct that now. In addition to unifying multiple mDNS implementations under a single API, I think my API reduces the amount of work needed by the developer for registering and listening for services to a minimum. Building the code First off, all you should need to compile and run my package is Maven. Once you have Maven installed, cd into the jmdns directory, and run: mvn test This will compile JmDNS, my add-on API, and run a few unit tests. The API in question is tested by org.jmdns.api.DiscoveryFactoryT-est. I would expect the JmDNS portion of the test testJmDNS() to pass under almost any circumstance, but the testmDNSResponder() will only pass if you are running on Linux and have mDNSResponder (or possibly the avahi compatibility layer) installed successfully. ...

For example, I needed a fanclub sign up form. At first I tried pasting in my source code for a form into a static content page. Then, I went back into the page to edit it and - whoa! it integrated itself into the admin gui. I can't explain how exactly this looked, but try pasting form html into a static page and you'll soon see it won't work. Now, there are several mods and components out there that allow you to put in a form (facile form) but these seemed to have too many options to learn in order to make it happen. Usually this div will have a background image or color that you need to go all the way around the content. There are cases where this has come up for me and there are usually two things you can do one of them is to fix the problem as you have accidentally set a property to it that doesn't need to be there in the CSS. The other is you can add something to it to help wrap the div around your content. I'll talk about both of these methods a little more in depth but they are quick and easy solutions for the stubborn div.

2006-12-01 15:03:03 Como ya es costumbre en Ubuntu, y la versión 6.10 no ha sido la excepción, nuevamente se presentan problemas con el módulo ndiswrapper, ya que la versión instalada por defecto en Edgy (1.1) por alguna extraña razón no carga el módulo del kernel, acusando el error : FATAL: Error inserting ndiswrapper (/lib/modules/2.6.17-7-generic/-kernel/drivers/net/ndiswrapper/-ndiswrapper.ko): Invalid argument por consiguiente se hace inviable navegar con la tarjeta wireless. El bug ya ha sido reportado, y se recomienda upgradear la versión de ndis. Gracias al siempre y útil dpkg, podremos instalar la versión 1.8 de ndiswrapper y así no morir en el intento por configurar nuestra conexión.
