2007-09-07 10:07:00 German band Xandria plays intereting music that sounds much symphonic metal, but at least I cannot actually define the genre. Their second album Ravenheart has been pretty successful, and now there's third one released. Lisa Middelhauve (vocals) has a interesting, very high sound. The bands sounds good for me, but I have to say I would like to hear a bit heavier guitars on the background. A little towards Arch Enemy would make good. Anyhow, I enjoy female vocals sang high.

2007-07-11 13:26:00 .uma visita a Alexandria recomenda-se, mas evitem o Pompei Pillar. Basicamente é um pilar gredo (é o que resta de um palácio que terá havido aqui) muito remendado com cimento, uns buracos no chão que putativamente foram túmulos e umas 4 estátuas egipcias também remendadas com cimento..A estória por trás do nome do pilar é curiosa: visitantes europeus ao verem o pilar, lembraram-se das ruínas de Pompeia então muito na berra. Daí a chamar-lhe "Pompey Pillar", foi um passo. Em Alexandria posso recomendar as catacumbas de Kom el-Shoqafa, a mesquita Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi, o forte de Quait-Bay, o Palacio Muntazah em Sidi Bisher e as praias circundantes.photos shot in Alexandria.

2007-07-02 20:49:00 Exactamente no mesmo local onde durante séculos reluziu o Farol de Alexandria existe desde o século XV o forte de Quait-Bay. Tem uma posição que domina toda a baía onde está plantada Alexandria e grandes vistas sobre o Mediterrâneo e a cidade.ao fundo consegue-se vislumbrar a biblioteca de Alexandria.junto ao forte existe o museu sub-aquático. Pelo que entendi é o único do género no mundo e permite vislumbrar estátuas do período egípcio, grego e romano nos locais onde os tremores de terra os deixaram : no fundo da baía. A year and a half ago, I started sending out emails to non-artist friends who were interested in being informed on "must see" exhibits. It is a small effort on my part of a greater plan to increase awareness that D.C. has an important art scene worthy of national and international attention.My observation is that people (including the well educated, observant, aesthetically sensitive) are afraid of art (Oh yes, artists are equally shy). Many are afraid that they don't know enough about art to be secure in their likes or dislikes. Even art buyers retain this "I am not an expert" humility.
