We choose projects basing on the budget (ISS Art is focused on mid-to-large sized projects) and technologies involved (we choose projects depending on availability of our software developers specializing in required technologies).Most of such web sites provide RSS channels to get a list of projects. I decided to create a video showing how easy it is to create a pipe.In this video, I create a pipe that takes the feed from two sites, OraBlogs and OraNA. I join them together using a Fetch, I de-dupe using a Unique and then sort descending by publish date using a Sort. Yahoo! Pipes: Friendly Data Manipulation
2007-03-10 16:42:20 Pipes is a new Yahoo! project that allows the Average Joe to aggregate data from feeds and manipulate it through a friendly interface. This simple tool will certainly invite innovative and creative uses of data around the world to do neat things like match Flickr photos with New York Times stories and search eBay with no ads (my favorite so far). The editing interface is full of modules which allow you to import, manipulate, or output data. Arguably the most convenient feature is the ability to clone existing pipes to improve them and make them your own. The entire system and community seem to be progressing nicely, as new modules are being added each week. Can’t wait to see even more mashups come from Yahoo! Pipes — especially ones that can be used by an average internet surfer. I definitely see a lot of potential in Pipes and look forward to making my own.
