It seems to be the whole Mark Teixiera hunt according to those in the know from mlb.com may soon be coming to an end.At this point, I just think that if Teixeira really, really wanted to sign with someone, he would have done so. Many believed Cabrera would be the center fielder of the future entering the 2008 campaign, but a disappointing season, in which he hit .249 with eight homeruns and 37 RBIs in 129 games, led many to believe he was destined for a future as a utility outfielder. Tuesday was an all-around great day for the Boston Red Sox. In their last ever series at Yankee Stadium (barring a miracle), they defeated the New York Yankees by a score of 7-3, Toronto beat up on the first place Rays and the club found out that Josh Beckett will be able to return to the rotation on Friday evening. The Sox crept to within 3 1/2 games of those Rays and have a full three game wild card lead over the Twins and a 6 game lead over the pinstripers.
