2008-01-17 04:02:00 I like to picture, as I open my garage door in the morning to embark on my day, this scene:The sun glints over the frozen lake to my right, golden-orange rays speckling through the bare tree branches and glinting off the snow, scattered into the window of my garage door. The door, white and gleaming, rises slowly, revealing my black shoes, then my pants cuffs, moving on up my trench coat. As the door continues rising, someone outside would see me, with the sunlight illuminating the right side of my body, my left still in shadow, holding my coffee mug and staring into the distance, a sense of noble purpose visible on my face. 2007-03-27 21:27:00 Stanley Kubrick is one of my favorite movie directors, I love all of his movies and he made some great ones; Spartacus, Lolita, Dr. Strangelove, A Clockwork Orange, The Shining, Full Metal Jacket and Eyes Wide Shut are all masterpieces in my opinion. But my absolute personal favorite is 2001: A Space Odyssey.2001: A Space Odyssey was written by Kubrick and the great sci fi writer Arthur C. Clarke and deals with themes of human evolution and technology, artificial intelligence, and extraterrestrial life. The film is notable for its scientific realism and it's pioneering use of special effects.When I was in college I used to like to get stoned and watch it for the "Star Gate sequence", where astronaut Dave Bowman (Keir Duelle), travels across vast distances of space and time through a tunnel of colorful light and sound while the fantastic Ligeti's Requiem played in the background. He is making a wonderful job on bring back to life the Brazilian musical memory with these videos.Today Luiz show us something that he admits to be also taken by surprise when he found the tape, Eumir Deodato, performing with Pascoal Meireles, Victor Biglione, Alex Malheiros, Banda Savana and Orquestra de repertorio de SP.
