2008-07-07 11:10:00
Mugabe is no longer in charge of Zimbabwe, he?s a puppet.  When it became evident that he?d lost the March elections, he wanted to concede defeat (See ?Mugabe Admits Defeat?, April 03.)  He was ready to slither into the undergrowth to enjoy retirement on the vast riches he?d stolen from the people he claims to ...
Why Didn?t Jimmy Carter Monitor Zimbabwe Election?
2008-07-02 05:59:00
At the recent African Union summit in Egypt, member nations failed to condemn Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe’s President-for-Life, for stealing the election from opposition candidate Morgan Tsvangirai. The union did pass a resolution “calling for him to negotiate with” the man who bested him in the initial balloting on March 29. Some say Tsvangirai would have ...

Zimbabwe: Military Junta in all-out war against the people
2008-06-09 16:19:00

Zimbabwe: What is the difference between Zimbabwe and Britain?
2008-06-09 15:38:00
There?s a tired Zimbabwean joke that asks the question, ?What did Zimbabweans use to light their homes before candles??  The answer, of course, is electricity?  This joke epitomises the sad decline in Zimbabwe?s living standards after more than 20 years of socialist rule.  Now that Zimbabweans can?t even get candles, they go to bed at ...

You see, Mugabe is 88. His wife, however, is only 44. If Robert goes, so might his money. So while Mugabe was ...

Zimbabwe: Behind the Scenes of a Monster Government
2008-06-05 16:51:00
As a poignant visual, I thought I might introduce the following post with the picture above. These are William and Annette Rogers, who were assaulted, whipped, and shot at after Robert Mugabe supporters gave them two minutes to leave their property in Zimbabwe. Their story is both harrowing and common among the white farmers who have not yet managed to escape this formerly civilized country. Their farm will now belong to thugs of the ruling government. Instead of producing food, it will be taken over by weeds, as the U.N. and its media toadies dither.Meanwhile, Mugabe is in Rome at the invitation of the UN's Food and Agricultural Organization, despite having been formally forbidden to travel in Europe as a result of his criminal conduct as Zimbabwe's socialist dictator. At a previous U.N. food conference, Mugabe boasted that his policy of stealing farms was going to increase the former Breadbasket of Africa's food supply. Now people are starving there, the country's money is wor...

Mugabe looks foward to a Conservative Government.
2008-06-04 12:41:00
Jason Brown, Founder of The Political Wire has posted an interesting article on Robert Mugabe's sudden found love for the British Conservatives:After months of bad news for the Prime Minister, there is finally some good news for Gordon Brown, Robert Mugabe?s stooges have come out in support of the Conservatives party. Sam Akaki, a journalist for the government?s mouthpiece, the Harare Herald, claims that the British government has engineered Zimbabwe?s descent into chaos:For Mr Akati, the solution to all this unfair and nasty bullying of the Mugabe regime is the return of a Conservative government.Only with the Conservative Party in power in the UK can that country hope to salvage its rapidly deteriorating relationship with Zimbabwe and Africa.Isn?t it now plainly clear that the British relationship with Zimbabwe in particular and Africa in general will not improve until the Conservative Party takes over in the United Kingdom?Quite what he hopes David Cameron will do isn?t clear. P...

2008-05-26 09:14:00
Morgan Tsvangirai, who most probably won the election held for president this March, returned home from his self imposed exile in South Africa to a nation which is bset by government organized gang activitie that beat, torture and even kill political opponents. Many members of his MDC party are disappointed Tsvangirai remained in South Africa while the campaign of terror envelops the nation, but he has indicated returning would have led to his death at the hands of government thugs. It is estimated mor ethan 30 MDC party supporters and officials have been murdred by government sponsored “war veterans” whose only goal is to intimidate people either to vote for President Mugabe or not to vote. Tsvangirai visited victims of the brutality and discovered that most hospitals in the nation are reporting dozens of cases of individuals who have suffered broken arms or legs at the hands of Mugabe goons. Tsvangirai went immediately to the funeral of activist Tonderai Ndira who was t...
