PMC and Dichroic Glass
2006-02-08 01:58:00 I have been recently experimenting with firing dichroic glass cabochons with PMC Standard. The secret is to gradually ramp up your kiln and hold the temperature at 1650 degrees for at least 20 minutes. Then let the kiln cool naturally (usually overnight) to prevent the glass from cracking. I finished this necklace with a handmade imported silk cord necklace that adjusts from 16 to 20 inches. Please let me know what you think. More About: Glass
Let Your Heart Glow
2006-01-22 22:48:00 I wanted to create a unique pendant for Valentine?s Day that would be a conversation starter and fun to wear...especially for all the singles out there. So here it is. I hand carve each pendant from cast Resin that has been infused with phosphorus to produce the glowing effect. The phosphorescent powder is non-toxic, non-radioactive, and environmentally friendly. The best way to charge the pendant is to use light sources rich in UV rays such as sunlight, black light, and halogen lamps. Typical household bulbs (Tungsten) take longer to recharge, since their UV output is low. Sun light (5 minutes), UV (Black Light 5 -10 minutes), Normal light (20-30 minutes). The pendant charges indefinitely and has a minimum 10 year shelf life. More About: Heart , Glow
