2008-03-21 03:58:00 Taaz-manian I just found the most awesome new website, Taaz! On the left I’m in Palladio Herbal Lipstick in Frost which I don’t like at all… no surprise. Victoria?s Secret FREE Beauty Stop the Totes Alert
2008-03-19 20:01:00 Stop the “FREE” Totes. I have too much, I’m trying to downsize my consumption of our resources, no I’m not a saint, I do purchase things that I don’t need and could do without. One of the problems is “free” totes have opportunity costs. I waste time thinking if I want this “free” tote, a day or two of having it on my floor by my back door, a week or two of it bouncing around in the trunk, possibility of me getting all wet while trying to unload the accumulated donation (I always seem to visit thrift stores whilst it’s pouring rain for some reason). On top of that, the need for a tote is not that high on my priority list, I may need one every few years and I like to have something that is versatile and can go anywhere, neutrals work best. Something that folds or crinkles into a suitcase or pocketbook. I’m not going to state my opinion on this particular tote because in certain, very limited circumstances, I wou... Eva Mendes for Peta and Calvin Klein
2008-03-18 03:32:00 Some beautiful latinas are taking a stand and posing for Peta ads and I couldn’t be happier about that. Sadly J Lo is still festooned in fur… I’m steering clear of posting anything else about her until she gets the fur out of her “sweetface” line. I have high hopes that motherhood will shake JLo into caring about little defenseless creatures. It’s one thing to act like you don’t know but when you see the images of animals that have been skinned alive they are undeniable. For now I’ll concentrate on Eva Mendes , I know she went through rehab and seriously hope she can keep it together. After all she’s going to rep for Calvin Klein ’s fragrance AND Calvin Klein Underwear which I will have to see to believe. As you can see in the photo ad for Peta she has plenty to get in those panties and in my personal experience the cuts are not favorable to us girls with assets in our jeans. Clean Logic?s Soap Sponge Green Product Review
2008-03-17 20:00:00 Happy St. Patrick’s Day 2008! You may be wearing green, but have you done anything green today? Support an eco-friendly company that not only produces “green” products but also encourages good habits. The Clean Logic Body Care team is dedicated to keeping the world Green by reducing waste and reusing products, something we can all do. The most impressive thing I found out is they have plants througout the office to help absorb the airborne pollutants and negative ions! Taking care of living things = serious dedication to the environment. If that wasn’t enough they even carpool to work! Clean Logic’s Soap Sponge Product Review It’s a soap, it’s a sponge, it exfoliates, it creates suds! and a specialty soap dish too! There are four scents to choose from, Cucumber Melon, Lavender, Warm Vanilla and my favorite, Peach Berry! The Soap Sponge is a great time saver, no need to pour, launder washcloths or handle slippery soaps. Soap Sponge is...
CEW Awards Finalists and former Avon Lady
2008-03-17 00:00:00 Here are all the CEW Beauty Awards Finalists . I’m totally shocked by one brand in particular, I’ve been steering way clear of it but that is going to change. Any company that can get 9 spots in the CEW finals is something I need to pay more attention to! Guess there’s no point in beating around the bush - it’s Avon ! I used Skin-So-Soft when I was in the Navy way back when, it was the only thing that would keep the mosquitoes off me while on the flight deck. The product was great but I don’t do the party business scene, I’ve dabbled with it, but you know it’s just not my thing. I also don’t do well with the catalog door to door aspect, although I was truly tempted after reading Birdie Jaworski’s Avon Lady Blog (traipse through the archives, it’s just too funny, I wish she’d morph into a beauty blogger again!) Birdie’s book is also available through her website - be sure to check it out. I’ve hi...
Aveeno Positively Ageless Rejuvenating Serum - Product Review
2008-03-14 16:26:00 Aveeno Positively Ageless Rejuvenating Serum - Experience I’ve been using this for a few days and really like it. I can for sure use some rejuvenating this time of year, it’s been such a long winter. I’ve been wearing the serum under my night cream and day lotions with SPF. Positively Ageless makes my skin feel soft and moisturized. Use it alone on rain and snow days if you will be indoors because it has no SPF. The scent is fresh and clean, I feel so spring-y! Once I read it would visibly reduce lines and wrinkles, I made sure to put lots on my brow to reduce those “angry mommy face” lines. So far I don’t have any other wrinkles to speak of. Positively Ageless is part of Aveeno’s Active Naturals and uses a rejuvenating shiitake complex in a pump bottle. Thanks to Total Beauty and CEW for the chance to try out this product! Anti-Aging or Pro-Youth as I like to think of it, look better than ever! Photo Credit: Aveeno.com Post from... More About: Product Review , Review , Product

Annoyance Beauty Expires
2008-03-09 17:14:00 How long do you keep your beauty products? There are expiration dates on everything nowadays. After buying some Dr. Brandt items in January I was shocked to see the expiration date was May 2008! that’s right, just five months! Isn’t that the most annoying thing? Consider yourself forewarned about that brand, no one brought it to my attention, they just placed everything in the bag and it didn’t even occur to me to check. I really need to hurry and finish all of the products off, I can’t stand rushing through beauty products, especially skin care! There are some things you can do to fight products expiring prematurely. Whenever possible buy a pump bottle, it will reduce the ingredients to the air and light. Keep your prettiest perfume bottles hidden away in a cool, dark place. The only problem is you have to find a practical place that you will actually think to go to everyday. I usually sacrifice my lowest bottle of perfume to the car for the summer so ... More About: Beauty , Annoyance

Silky Soft Strands Kerastase Nutritive
2008-03-05 18:04:00 There’s only one way to combat dry hair and that’s with the right products to keep your strands silky smooth. First thing, out with the old hair dryer and in with the new, I just got the Featherweight by T3 and I can’t recommend that highly enough, it’s cut drying time in half, I even use it on my girls - whose hair I’m ultra protective of. It’s taken so long for girl2004 to get her hair past her shoulders, there’s no way I’m going to risk any burns to her strands or scalp! Another thing I’ve been using for all three of us is the Kerastase Nutritive Masque. It’s been great and we have very different hair textures. Just shampoo your hair, rinse and apply the Nutritive Masque to the ends of the hair, wait five minutes and rinse out. The conditioner rinses very easily and leaves hair soft and smooth. My daughter’s curly hair has light bouncy curls that just won’t stop shining. My thin flat hair has miraculous... More About: Soft , Silky
T3 Hair - Fast and Full
2008-03-03 06:50:00 Admission: I am a flat haired girl. My hair is thin and if I don’t blowdry it upside down it’s flat and all over my face. NO MORE! since I got my T3 Featherweight I’ve been drying up a storm. I don’t know why I held back, this is totally worth the price it commands. Not only is it FAST it’s light! What I really like about drying with a T3 is I don’t smell that horrible burning hair smell I used to get. You may be immune to the smell so ask someone you trust to smell your hair after you dry your hair to be sure. Since you’re drying faster and less time there’s less chance to damage your hair. I would compare the Featherweight’s weight to a travel dryer. Unlike a travel dryer it will fit comfortably with a nice full handle to hold onto and mega drying power. Don’t forget, the T3 Featherweight ships FREE @ Sephora FAST Facts about the T3 Featherweight: -1800-watt and still manages to weight less than 1 pound! -Two s... More About: Hair , Full , Fast

AVEENO Celebrates Leap Year 2008
2008-02-29 04:49:00 AVEENO is celebrating leap year 2008 by releasing the results of a study about what women would do with an extra day… Here are some of the findings the study revealed: AVEENO® found that 65% percent of American women confess to skimping on beauty, spending 30 minutes or less on their beauty rituals each day. However, more than 3 in 5 women admitted they wished they had an extra day in the year to spend on themselves, and 1/3 declared they would spend more than 30 minutes on beauty or grooming rituals with this extra day. But not surprisingly, moms were the group most likely to wish for an extra day in the year to spend on themselves, with a whopping 73% saying they would love an extra day. AVEENO® also found that if given an extra day in the year, nearly ½ of all women admitted they would indulge in extra sleep or pampering rituals in the comfort of their own home. This is good news because as you sleep, your skin cells actually renew themselves so skin is most ... More About: Year , Leap
Stila compliments Marchesa fashions
2008-02-28 06:05:00 I am so looking forward to fall 2008! Stila is projecting matte skin, so use a nice sheer pressed powder and a concealer where you need it. Move on to create your smokey eyes, long lush lashes - go for the drama! Flushed cheeks and a shiny lip saturated with color. If you’re wondering how to saturate your lip with color, use layers! Stila’s cherry crush lip and cheek stain will be your first lip layer, then try Stila’s SPF20 lipstick in caicos over the stain. The stain is on my “must have” list, very pretty flushed look - I love a dual purpose product! Stila always delivers, pretty, wearable looks. No wonder Marchesa has turned to Stila for four seasons to get the make up just right for their shows. Lancome?s Pixel Pink Vid on YouTube
2008-02-27 23:27:00 Got three minutes? be inspired by Thakoon’s fashions and Lancome ’s Pixel Pink Lipstick (Pout-a-Porter the 4th). Pixel Pink on Youtube The video is very entertaining, lots of Thakoon’s Spring 2008 runway footage. Did you hear the part where Thakoon says it will compliment tan skin? I’m thinking I might give this one a chance after all… I’m changing my position from casual, if it falls in my lap I will try it stance, to ‘I must go out and get Pixel Pink’!! One warning, you may crave apple pie after viewing. Post from: Steeping Beauty Lancome’s Pixel Pink Vid on YouTube Share This
Lancome Aqua Fusion Moisturizer
2008-02-27 12:00:00 What wouldn’t I do for a great gift with purchase? Luckily this time the gwp was for a brand I love and I only had to buy one product at a great price. In return I got the the lovely cosmetic bags with Eiffel Tower zipper pulls, and all the little goodies of course. Lancome ’s Aqua Fusion with SPF 15 is designed for normal/combination skins. When you pump it out the scent is so soothing and spring-y that it totally makes me forget we have a projected 12 inches of snow heading for my area. There’s no oil in this product, light and easily absorbed. It is fresh and calming, sure to make another appearance on my bathroom shelves. ROC Retinol Correxion Hand Repair SPF 15 Product Review Bring on the Hands
2008-02-27 06:17:00 CEW Product Review : bring on the hands I know I have a problem when it comes to hands. Hand s are the most beautiful part of the body to me. Most people have heard of foot fetishes but why don’t hand fetishes get more attention?! Size of hands and nail length don’t matter to me. What I do care about are, a clean looking manicure and moisturized skin. There are so many things women can do to look young in the face and body but the hands are a telltale sign of aging. ROC Retinol Correxion Hand Repair Cream with SPF 15 claims it can work within the skin’s layers to reduce the visible signs of aging. ROC Retinol cream can even out skin tone and even out pigmentation spots that will make your hands look younger with daily use. Your hands will also be protected from future damage with the UVA/UVB Sunscreen protectant. I haven’t seen any visible results in the short time I’ve been using it, so I can’t vouch for the effectiveness of this product, but...
Estee Lauder Projectionist Mascara Product Review
2008-02-27 05:16:00 Estee Lauder is a brand I haven’t used much since leaving Japan, the base exchange only carries a few premium brands and EL was one of them. When I wasn’t experimenting with Japanese beauty brands, I would buy loads of Estee stuff. I’ve been using the Projectionist Mascara for five days and really like it. I totally missed the launch last March so I’m making up for lost time now! Projectionist defines my lashes and makes them look longer with just a few strokes. My main lash issue is volume, sadly I didn’t notice much increase in volume while using Projectionist. The mascara stayed in place, no smudge or clumps which is enought to get a good mark up from me. An added bonus: The bottle is gorgeous! a really great looking tube. Get more beauty reviews from Total Beauty on Estee Lauder products, mascara and more. Essence of Beauty Kabuki Brush
2008-02-27 03:47:00 The theatrics of Kabuki have inspired a retractable brush by essence of BEAUTY. I really love this little brush because I don’t have to keep it in my make up bag, it’s retractable so I can just put it in my purse without worrying about loose powder or blush all over the place. Perfect travel gift or for the girl on the go. It’s great for powder or blush, what else do you need to know? it hasn’t shed at all and I’ve used it quite a bit. essence of Beauty ’s plush cosmetic brushes are made from authentic hairs and fibers so you get the best quality at a drugstore price. Aveeno Active Naturals Eczema Care Body Wash Moisturizing Cream
2008-02-25 05:58:00 I’ve always taken my skin for granted, regular cleansing, bit of moisturizing and plenty of water is about all I’ve needed. I didn’t understand the physical discomfort dry skin causes until my son, boy2001, started getting really dry winter skin. I gave him more fluids, tried scrubbing him, moisturizing him, nothing worked! I’ve read that Eczema is the most common inflammatory skin disease in the world and most likely caused by our body’s immune system. Dealing with his skin has been a struggle but as he gets older it seems more manageable than ever with the help from Aveeno products. Aveeno Eczema Care Body Wash and Aveeno’s Eczema Moisturizing Cream have given him relief from itching away at his dry skin after just a few uses for not one but almost two full days! His skin looks better, but more importantly he feels better about himself. If you have dry skin of any degree Aveeno has different products to offer some relief. The name ‘Acti... More About: Active

Plane was on time, took the E train to Times Square and started off with breakfast at 8:19 @ Yoshinoya… I didn’t even bother waiting for the Hello Kitty store this time - it is such a non-event, way too small and nothing interactive. Picture of me accepting Oscar. I headed up to check out David Letterman, sure enough there were free tickets to be had. I love David Letterman, he’s not always that funny but he seems like a sweet guy which makes up for it. I really hated the last taping I went to when Howard Stern was a guest.
