Oprah, Green Tea and Me
2007-07-23 22:28:00
I like tea. Iced in the summer, hot as the sun during winter. And while I’ve tried all sorts of different teas, I’ve come to realize that I really don’t like any berry-types of teas. I can’t explain why, I just find them very fake tasting. But give me an Earl Grey, English Breakfast or ...

C is for Cookie, that?s 15% off for you and me?
2007-07-20 21:19:00
Cookies rule. Even stale ones. Come on, like you wouldn’t stuff your face with stale Chips Ahoy or Oreos if they were sitting there in front of you just staring you in the face. But yeah fresh-baked cookies right out of the oven are the closest any of us will probably ever come to nirvana ...

Be an Athletic Supporter!
2007-07-20 16:04:00
Wow, 2 sports-related coupons in a row? It must be the height of summer! Well since I already told you guys about breaking my dad’s nose in my early years of little league, I can flash forward to my final year in little league… I normally played center field (I was fast, so I did a good job of helping cover right and left field too) on our team, the Twins. Nice bright orange and black uniforms. Yeah, it looked great on me and my super pale white skin. Anyways, it was my last year and I was a real solid player, reliable on defense and real good at the plate. I wasn’t a home run hitter by any means, but I could take my pitches well, earn walks when needed, or punch in singles or doubles quite regularly. We had an awesome season and made it to the playoffs, won the first round and then went to the Championship game. Woo. Honestly, I don’t even remember who we played against. All I recall of that final game of the 3-game series is that our 2nd basemen was hurt o...

On whose authority? Sports Authority! Oh, and a broken nose!
2007-07-19 21:27:00
Yeah, that title’s a real stretch. Sorry. It’s real cloudy and rainy out. Dark as anything. So that just makes it real tough to come up with something punny and witty and clever. If it helps, I’m off to see the new “Harry Potter” flick tonight, so that’s also distracting me. Hmm… Sports Authority … sports. Sporting goods. Oh, here’s a good sports-related anecdote… It’s a beautiful sunny day. I’m back at Elementary School, probably around 2nd or 3rd grade. It’s a Saturday and I’m at my school for a little league practice. It also just so happens that there’s a “fair” going on that day at the school. So while we’re all running around the bases, throwing balls in the wrong direction and swinging wildly with large pieces of wood, off in the distance can be heard the shrieks, screams and laughter of children enjoying rides, games, cotton candy and assorted hoopla. Yes, I said hoo...

Are YOU ready for some football? I soooo am!
2007-07-18 18:57:00
I don’t know why, but I just love football. Playing it’s fun, but I’m talking about tossing back a few beers while downing way too many spicy wings and nachos and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, well, most likely get trounced if we’re talking last year. I think it’s the fact that the season’s so short ...

Back to Back to School
2007-07-17 18:42:00
Well, we’re halfway through July, so that means it’s time for all those back-to-school sales to start ramping up. These days it’s all about computers, iPods and GPS systems. And I’m talking about elementary school kids! I remember back in my childhood days the biggest thing about going back to school was picking out a ...

Watch this? 15% off jewelry at Overstock.
2007-07-17 00:57:00
I can’t remember the last time I wore a watch. It was definitely after college but was probably about the time I started carrying around a cell phone full time. It used to be when you’d ask someone for the time, they’d instantly flip their arm up to take a peek at their watch. Nowadays, ...

D?oh! Simpsons DVDs? on sale? must buy? all? of? them?
2007-07-16 21:54:00
Sorry, but I’m a big Simpsons fan and cannot wait for the movie coming out this month. I’m debating buying a plane ticket to head to L.A. just so I can see the 7-11 Kwik-E-Mart they’ve got there. Mmmm… blue squishees… Anyways, I can’t compete with Homer and Company, so I’ll just post a quick ...

The eyes have it! And by ?it? we mean $10 off.
2007-07-16 20:30:00
I wear contact lenses. Been wearing them since high school in fact. Man did they used to be suuuch a pain. I’d have one pair that would last a good 6 months, but I had to clean them every single night, and do some crazy enzyme-cleaning thing (was like dropping alka seltzer in water) every ...

I wonder if Frasier shops here
2007-07-15 16:50:00
You’d think with a name like ShopNBC, you’d find a peacock-filled site full of “Friends” T-shirts, “Frasier ” coffee mugs and “Heroes”capes and accessories. Far from it. Turns out, ShopNBC is a full-fledged online shopping mall full of jewelry, housewares, electronics, apparel, etc. And hey, there’s even a television channel with the same name, offering similar shop-at-home type merchandise. Crazy coincidence, huh? Okay, okay. So they’re one and the same. But they’ve got some real nice merchandise and, even better, a pretty sweet coupon offer right now: 10% off orders over $75 at ShopNBC.com Online only. Use promotion code YASF714. Valid through: July 21, 2007 Disclaimer/Exclusions: Online only. One coupon per order. You may use this coupon one time through July 21, 2007. Not valid with any other discount or promotional offer. No cash value. Void where prohibited, taxed or restricted, if sold or transferred. Unlike o...

Macy?s One-Day Sale: No funny business
2007-07-14 16:16:00
Still on the road with the family so no funny stories. Sorry. Although last night we did pass a White Castle restaurant after we finished eating dinner elsewhere. Despite the evil eyes from wifey (what, the Castle’s not romantic?!?), I still would’ve sneaked out in the middle of the night for a few Sliders. Sigh. ...

Ann Taylor coupon, the Wiggles and too many Oreos
2007-07-14 04:08:00
So I’m posting this one from the road. Wifey and I took the 2 kids down to the Jersey Shore for a little mini-vacation (as opposed to a maxi-vacation?). We haven’t really gone anywhere in about a year I’d say (at least anywhere where we had to sleep over). So we hit the beach this ...

I left my underpants in San Francisco
2007-07-11 15:22:00
I’m a New Yorker. Lived here my entire life. I’ve traveled a bit around this country (mostly on both coasts) and the proverbial post-college 5-week backpacking trek through Europe. But through it all, I’ve got to say that San Franc isco is my all-time favorite city. (Well, not just the city, but the surrounding counties like ...

Looking to start a new website? Hah! Good luck. Sorry, couldn’t resist. But the good luck is really for finding a good domain name that’s not taken already. King Size Coupons
2007-07-07 16:00:00
I have a friend who’s like 8 feet tall. Okay, that’s an exaggeration. He’s probably about 6′2 or so, but since I’m a mere 5′7″, everyone just seems giant. He’s always telling me how hard it is to find pants. Not that he loses them, just that he can’t find his size. He’s kind of ...

Targeting printable coupons
2007-07-06 22:27:00
Since I mentioned Wal-Mart in a previous post today, I think it’s only fair that I give one of its competitors a little love. In this case, that’d be Target. Personally, I like shopping Target over Wal-Mart, but that may only be because we have like 5 Target stores within 20 minutes of our house ...

Just a little bit domestic
2007-07-06 19:44:00

Shop for the environment
2007-07-06 01:01:00
Back in college (stop laughing, it wasn’t that long ago), I was really into the environment. Actually, it started back in high school with an organization called SOP (Save Our Planet) that worked to spread the word on recycling and doing your part for the environment. Like most people, though, I graduated, moved on to ...

Let?s talk toys
2007-07-05 20:53:00
My house is like a toy store. Except everything’s out of the box on the floor. Usually right in front of where my feet go so I can be sure to either stub a toe, step on a Lego or completely whipe out on some sort of car or truck. But seeing as how I’m ...

I’m really not an artist. You couldn’t tell because, well, I haven’t posted any of my drawings. That’s probably why I always gravitated towards writing, even as a kid. Even my stick figures look broken. (And I still recall the laughter of some of my co-workers when I tried drawing a simple arrow on ...

Why fly 1 flag when you can fly Six Flags
2007-07-02 19:15:00
What better way to celebrate July 4th than by sharing it with a flag, or six flags in this case. Sure, I’m a complete wuss when it comes to amusement parks. Roller coasters, spinny things, twisty rides, you name it, I’m so not there. (Though I can proudly claim that I did go on the ...

Who doesn’t like fashion? Okay, maybe I don’t. I mean, I’m writing this post in my jean shorts and a White Castle T-shirt (tis true!). I’m just a “comfort over fashion” type of guy I guess. Working from home makes that super easy. But apparently a lot of people care about fashion. Otherwise, there’d be a ...

Fish oil tastes nasty? so at least save some money on it
2007-07-02 03:59:00
I eat fish oil. I admit it. I have high cholesterol and do take Lipitor daily to keep that down. I should exercise a lot more than I do. Okay, I should actually start exercising. There, you happy? But I also take 2 gel caps of fish oil every single morning because research seems to ...

Stock up on batteries and recharge your wallet
2007-06-29 21:34:00
If you’ve got kids, then you’ve got batteries. Lots of batteries. If not, then, well, you’ve probably got piles of non-working toys and a screaming-around-the-clock kid. We go through batteries like water in our house (and we drink a fair amount of water, y’know). Well, now’s the perfect time to stock up on batteries, thanks ...

Beware the non-parells
2007-06-29 19:13:00
So yesterday was our 9-year wedding anniversary. Normally we don’t do much on our anniversary except go out to a nice dinner. No cards or presents. At least we really haven’t the past few years since having kids. But of course I had to get wifey something she’s been craving for months… a Cuisinart Soft ...
