Kirby Lambert Mini-Tac Damascus Knife
2007-10-14 08:12:00
This was my very first Kirby Lambert knife, and is an awesome peice. I love it and will likely never sell it, since it is very dear to me. It is not only my first Kirby Lambert knife, but the first fully custom knife I ever ordered, and the first of many I have purchased ...

Microtech Mini Socom Elite Automatic
2007-10-08 00:05:00
This was my first Microtech Automatic knife, and even though it was not expensive, I really cherished it because of the fit and finish that Microtechs have gave it such an appealing look to me. Within a week of purchasing it, a buddy of mine at the Dojo I train at fired it for the ...

Spyderco Q Knife
2007-09-26 05:07:00
I received this Spyderco Q knife in a trade with a fellow on the rec.knives newsgroup many years ago named SPECOPS. He was a great guy and now and again I wonder what happened to the guy. I’m sure he’s around somewhere… he used to be a Spyderco rep of some sort. I traded him ...

Spyderco Jot Singh Khalsa Knife
2007-09-18 05:56:00
I actually owned both the serrated and plain edged versions of this knife, and both are excellent examples of classic discontinued Spyderco designs. I remember reading an article by Massad Ayoob about how the Jot Singh Khalsa was his favourite self-defense knife to carry on airplanes prior to 19/11 because it fit the under 3″ rule at the time. Dalton Combat Bones Knife
2007-09-16 20:12:00
This is the first Dalton knife review on here, though my Youtube Videos have a Dalton Dragon review. I really like Dalton blades. They are simple, well-made and machined tools with a slightly industrial look. The Bones was the first Dalton design that really caught my eye with its wide spearpoint blade and vented handle.

Microtech Greenfly Butterfly Knife
2007-09-15 21:21:00
When I first saw the Microtech Dragonfly I really liked it, so when I saw the Greenfly I had to get it. It was a cheaper alternative to the Tachyon that came out earlier, with an aluminum handle instead of Titanium. Microtech excels at machined aluminum handles so I think this model fits with their ...

Greg Lightfoot Max Velocity Knife
2007-09-14 07:42:00
This was the first Lightfoot knife I had every handled or owned, and I was really excited when I traded a fairly decent sized lot of 5 Spyderco knives to get this knife. Unfortunately, the spyderco knives went up in value, and this Lightfoot had some problems with it. These problems are not Greg ’s fault, ...

Chris Reeve Small Micarta Sebenza
2007-09-06 21:38:00
Is there a more revered knife than the legendary Sebenza? You’d think it was Excalibur the way people talk about this thing! With perfect fit and perfect finish, why shouldn’t they? The Sebenza is probably the most perfectly built knife out there, bar none. Whether or not it’s the best knife is a matter of ...

Kershaw Blue Ti Bump Knife [video]
2007-09-05 23:04:00
Kershaw’s Bump knife was named so because of the hump that is in the middle of the cutting edge on the blade, designed by none other than Ken Onion. Ken has been designing knives for Kershaw for many years now, and his speed-safe mechanism has shot the company to the top of the sporting knife ...

Peter Marzitelli Raizer Folding Knife
2007-09-04 04:19:00
Peter is the first knifemaker from Canada that I was aware of. I remember seeing his ads in magazines, and then when I found out he lived in Langley, BC, I was very interested in getting one of his knives! Unfortunately, it took several years before I was able to get one of his custom ...

Reese Weiland Modified Emerson CQC-7 [video]
2007-09-02 17:08:00
Received this Rees e Weiland knife from the original owner on trade. He only owned it a short time and it was passed onto me. Not a cheap conversion, all in all costs just as much as purchasing a straight up custom. But probably the cheapest way to get a custom Emerson .

Chris Reeve Knives Shadow III
2007-08-23 06:08:00
The Shadow III is my first One-Peice fixed blade from CRK. I’ve handled several of them before at knife shows and peices that belonged to friends, and none of them really interested me until now. I received this knife as part of a trade, and wow, has it grown on me!

Tom Anderson Damascus Valkyrie Knife
2007-08-19 02:07:00
Tom Anderson , like Gil Hibben, sold his designs to entry level budget knife companies which may have reduced his popularity among some knife collectors, but like Hibben, his custom work is no less impressive. Tom’s knives are top notch and his designs are very unique.

Mike Obenauf Small Model 2 Carbon Fiber
2007-08-18 20:23:00
I really like Mike Obenauf’s knife designs, and the Model 2 is probably my favourite, with the Model 4 Wharncliffe Knife coming in close second. The knife just has such wonderful flowing lines. This is the linerlock version of the knife, and is a better value I think in the long run over the framelock. ...

James McGowan Kiridashi Knife
2007-08-16 16:39:00
I bought this knife of James ’ table at the CKG show a couple of years ago. I love his little kiridashi’s and japanese inspired one-off’s that he tends to make a lot of for the show. Not perfect as far as fit and finish, but at the lowly price of $60 with a Kydex Sheath, ...

Jens Anso Gekko Folder
2007-08-12 07:56:00
Ever since I purchased my first Spyderco, I’d always been fascinated by the round hole opener. It is such a simple concept and looks really cool on a knife. I remember seeing A.T. Barr’s One-Eyed Jack’s in the magainzes and drooling over them… then I saw Jens Anso’s knives, and I have been captivated ever ...

Spyderco Dodo Folding Knife
2007-08-09 00:32:00
The Spyderco Dodo is one of the more odd knives made by Spyderco in the last couple of years. and features their ball-lock, which was created in response to Benchmade’s Axis-Lock a few years ago. Its a great little cutter that has a wide blade, and very low blade to handle ratio… typical of many ...

Strider AR Olive Drab Knife [video]
2007-08-06 23:24:00
Strider’s AR is probably one of the nicest balanced large tactical folders on the market, and that’s saying a lot. A lot of people consider Strider knives overpriced and underperforming, but I beg to differ. The AR might not be the best push-cut or slicing knife in the market, but it feels great in the ...

Scot Matsuoka Pahinui Folding Knife
2007-07-31 21:36:00
When I picked up this knife Scot was just starting out as a Protege of the great Ken Onion, and his prices were still quite low. His prices are still very good for what I would consider an “affordable onion”. Fully contoured handles with the same organic lines.. very nice.

Surefire Alpha Folding Knife
2007-07-30 05:38:00
I received this Surefire knife in a trade recently and really liked it. I have to admit I’ve been wanting one of these for a very long time, but at the price figured that that I’d be better off with another knife since they are pricey knives. Finally decided to pull the trigger since they ...

Peter Atwood Prybaby
2007-07-27 18:39:00
Peter Atwood ’s Prybaby’s are a very popular tool amongs the tacticool crowd of today’s knife community. I will admit I think they are pretty darn cool too and the one I have here is a basic prybaby in 154CM steel with Orange Glow inserted all over various parts of the tool.

Kirby Lambert Whar Gouge Grip Knife
2007-07-23 23:22:00
Before I got my Spearpoint with the Mammoth handles, this was my favourite Kirby knife. This Whar is unique from other Whar folders because the blade on this one is slightly curved on the spine near the tip… Only two like this exist, and the other one belongs to James Hetfield of Metallica!

Kershaw Blur Knife
2007-07-20 21:18:00
The Kershaw Blur is one of my favourite Ken Onion designs from the Kershaw line. I love the grip tape look that was made popular by Microtech several years ago. The Blur takes that signature Onion style and takes a more tactical flat handle approach, which is not typical of Ken Onion designs.

Benchmade Mini Skirmish BM-635
2007-07-18 22:49:00
For many years, Bench made was my favourite knife company, and I aspired to collect as many as I could afford. So when this Mini Skirmish came out, based on Neil Blackwoods design, I jumped on it, unable to afford Neil’s custom version which proabably sells in the thousands.

Spyderco Kerambit Folder Knife
2007-07-11 22:56:00
This Warren Thomas designed Kerambit was one of the first affordable, well-designed Kerambits available on the market. Until the Spyderco, the only ones available were high-end customs, fairly pricey Emersons, or junk Kerambits from M-Tech.

James McGowan Ti Strider Spanner Key
2007-07-07 20:29:00

Matt Cucchiara Damascus Small Sirocco
2007-07-03 23:18:00
This is my first Cucchiara knife, and its a helluva knife! I really like his fizz treatment and heat coloring of the handles. The thick blade and big-bellied recurve make for a nice blade profile as well. The blade on this bad boy is even thicker than the handles! This knife was made prior to ...

Strider SnG Spearpoint Gen 2 [video]
2007-06-29 00:06:00
The Generation 2 Spearpoint from Strider was available in a Stonewash finish on the blade and the framelock. Strider never made too many of these after this, as it seems to be less popular amongst the tactical crowd. I really like the way the stonewash looks and keeps it looking unique amongst all the other ...
