 According to People Magazine, Beyonce thinks she would be a "bold choice" to play Wonder Woman , and she's apparently already met with Warner Bros. movie reps to talk about taking on the role.  Obvious reasons aside, Beyonce isn't the worst actress in the world, but she's not the greatest at it either, even for a drama-light, superhero role.  So if I had a vote, then I vote NO:Already a superstar, Beyoncé now has her eyes set on becoming a superhero."What would be better than Wonder Woman ?" she tells the Los Angeles Times. I was honored and privileged recently to have the opportunity to speak to an "African Americans and the Media" class about blogging at Southern University Baton Rouge, through the invite of one of my most loyal Hip Candy readers, Professor Broome (thank you!).  And even though I was completely out of my comfort zone speaking in front of folks, I have to say, it was a great experience. I have to be honest about First Lady-Elect Michelle Obama 's designer Narciso Rodriguez dress (Spring 2009) last night.  I didn't like it. The whole look of this dress had me confused.Now if she was partial to wearing Narciso Rodriguez last night with the obvious red and black theme that the First Family-Elect was going for, I would have gone with the chic and modern black, slightly off the shoulder number from the Rodriguez Spring '09 collection (below) and added a few chic red accessories (shoes, necklace or belt). A truly historic night.  A truly historic election.  I barely have the words.  This is an election that will inspire people of all races to dare to dream. To realize that ANYTHING is possible. Barack Obama is the American dream personified.  My words here don't even seem adequate for the magnitude of events that's taken place on November 4, 2008. "Thriller" Turns 25...

Michael Jackson's "Thriller " was (and still is?) the biggest selling album of all time. Everybody owned that album. Or the cassette tape, lol! Anyhoo, "Thriller" turned 25 years old this year, and I remember back in the 80's being amazed at seeing the sheer intensity of people crying and passing out behind Michael. To this day, I don't think I've witnessed that level of "fan love" on any other artist.

I voted early on Saturday October 25th, 2008, and yay!  What a wonderful and exhilarating feeling it was to vote for a candidate that I believe will be a strong catalyst for HOPE and CHANGE in this country. I honestly checked, double checked and triple checked my vote to make sure that my vote was indeed cast for Barack Obama for President.  Everything was cool. Jennifer Hudson's Mother & Brother Found Dead

According to TMZ, Law enforcement sources said Jennifer Hudson's mother was one of two victims shot and killed in Chicago earlier today.  A neighbor tells TMZ the other victim was Jennifer's brother Jason. A cousin who lived nearby discovered the bodies.We're told the two bodies were found dead on the scene at 2:44 PM. When the fire department arrived and discovered the bodies, police were brought in and the home was declared a crime scene. A call to Hudson's rep was not immediately returned.This is truly horrifying news. Our prayers go out to her and her family.

I just started watching this, as I've seen a couple episodes so far. Nene has to be my favorite right now because she's wonderfully ghetto, and that's always fun to watch, but all these women are just so fabulously tacky, always talking about their status, and their money and whatnot. It's just so over the top you can't look away! I watched "Orange County" I didn't watch "New York", but I think these Atlanta women probably has them all beat. Are ya'll watching? I wanna know what ya'll think.

Marla White, Director of PR & Brand Development at Anchor Blue Retail Group, tells PEOPLE ?Anchor Blue and Heidi Montag are pleased with what Heidiwood for Anchor Blue accomplished during this past year. However Anchor Blue chose not to extend the Heidiwood contract after the initial year as they will be concentrating solely on what their heritage, their foundation, is based on ? denim. They are very excited about an initiative they are launching in February ?09 for guys and girls that will carry throughout the coming year.? Wonder if that means Heidi will be looking to design somewhere else.

Miss Teen Louisiana lost her crown 11 days early after being arrested on charges of leaving a restaurant without paying and carrying marijuana.  RPM Productions Inc., the sponsor, took back the title on Tuesday after learning that Lindsey Evans, 18, of Blanchard, had been arrested, president Paula M. Miles said Wednesday.Evans will have to return her sash and crown, but won't have to return any other prizes or cash equivalents, Miles said.  "She's done a good job this year," Miles said.  A call to Evans' parents' house was not answered Wednesday.  Miles said she had been told that the three women with Evans told police that Evans, alone in the group, had paid her bill.
