Happy Birthday Gaby - this is your birth story
2007-12-16 17:25:00 My Gabriella turned six today!She is having so much fun with a new art set she got, so I thought I'd sneak in to write a few words.Gaby was born in a small country hospital in Schweinfurt, Germany. It was a cold winter day, just like today, and me, Isabella and my mother had been visiting all the Christmas markets whole week long. My mother had come from Finland to stay with us, and especially with Isabella, while I was having the baby.My due date had been over a week earlier, on the 4th of December, and I was so ready to have a baby. On the 15th of December, on Saturday evening we rented movies and I ate over a pound of black licorice - the licorice is supposed to enduce the labor. I did start getting little aches here and there during that night, and at 2 o'clock I started having this feeling - maybe the baby will actually come out soon. Date Night - and the Best Date Ever!

But it's the Anniversary of The Best Date Ever!Bourne Ulmimatum is out on DVD today and I'm having a movie night with the sexiest man alive! No, I didn't mean Matt Damon, even though according to People magazine he's the sexiest. I meant my own Matt, if he ever makes it home from work through all this snow. I'm so looking forward tonight, even though it's just a movie and some sinfully good home made nachos and my husband watching the movie with me. Ice Skates for Children
2007-12-08 16:55:00 Last year my girls took some figure skating lessons, but this year we signed them up for ski lessons. We weren't really planning on getting kids to skating this year, I don't really like to have too many after school activities with the children yet, since they are so young, and school days are long enough. But then we realized - we have two ponds in our yard and our neighbour told us kids have been skating on the ponds before, and we got pretty excited. Not just skiing on our yard, but also skating! So ice skates are now on the wish list and we are hoping Santa will bring kids some ice skates. Here are some ice skates I found online, if you know other great stores to find ice skates for kids - please leave a comment! Keep in mind that my picks are meant for recreational pond skating, not for taking lessons. Gotta love Lotta - Scandinavian Modern Design

I bet my mom still has the towels from years 1975, 1978 and 1981, years, when me and my sisters were born. The fabric calendars are a dear Scandinavian tradition and this Lotta Jansdotter 2008 Fabric Calendar reminded me of my childhood, and I am adding it to my wish list for the Holidays!Lotta Jansdotter is one of my favorite designers with a very Scandinavian background. She spent her childhood summers in the island called Ahvenanmaa between Sweden and Finland - I spent my childhood summers sailing between Ahvenanmaa and Finland. No wonder Lotta's designs bring back so many memories and feel like home to me. Beautiful, simplistic designs, just like home in Scandinavia. Mass market is so out, and even my daughter knows it. Mom Finds a great gift and giveaway!

A good book, a very venti vanilla Latte and I could just sit in this chair for hours. Maybe even occasionally take my laptop and do some work. Aaw, my kids could climb up too and we could read all the Pippi Longstocking books they love. I might even share it with my husband, and let him sometimes take an afternoon nap on this luxurious glider... Daeg has gotten such a great reviews on his role as a young Micheal Myers in the horror movie Halloween, which came out his fall. After that Daeg has been busy and has filmed 5 other movies!
