2008-04-25 12:00:00 Ok, it's going to be a long day for me, so I jacked a featured post from Necole Bitchie written by The Fly Guy of The Fly Guy Chronicles. Whatever the case may be, heed the advice below to recognize when he's just not that into you....5 Signs That He’s Not InterestedThe writing had been on the wall for quite some time now. You just refused to read it. Why? Because as far as you were concerned, you had found the man of your dreams, and there was nothing anyone could say or do to change that. There was however, one slight problem … The feeling wasn’t mutual. If only you would have paid attention to my “Top 5 Signs That He’s Not Interested” …perhaps this could have all been avoided. 1. Strictly Fab Finds for the Week of April 21, 2008
2008-04-21 12:00:00 Here are my finds for this week:SEE: "Breakfast at Tiffany's" starring Audrey HepburnThis movie is a true classic. On these rainy spring days when you are confined to the house, pop in a classic like this and watch true art in action...plus, a great wardrobe. In a nutshell, the movie's plot is as follows (excerpted from Wikipedia):The movie follows the exploits of Holly Golightly, a young woman always on the run from herself. Lacking a stable childhood, she marries at the age of 14, has the marriage annulled, moves to Hollywood to start a film career, then suddenly leaves Hollywood for New York. Although the nature of her livelihood in New York is never explicitly stated, it is implied that she is either a call girl or, at the very least, makes a living by dating well-off men. Holly also earns an extra $100 a week by unknowingly carrying coded messages for an incarcerated mafia boss. The plot revolves around Holly's relationship with her new neighbor, Paul Varjak, a writer who ... More About: April , Week , 2008
Trend Alert: Jelly Sandals-Hot or Not?
2008-04-18 12:55:00 Ok, you should all know by now that I am an 80s baby--and I see styles coming back left and right. I'm not so welcoming with every trend (neon overload--a little bit is just fine), a little so/so about others (high waist jeans) and completely undecided about the rest. Now, when I was in eighth grade, you were nothing if you didn't rock the zillion jelly bracelets and had at least 3-5 pair of jelly shoes. If that trend didn't hit you then (or you weren't born yet), lemme tell you more...Jelly shows are shoes made of hard plastic that are weren't very comfortable, caused blisters, and left semi-permanent impressions on your feet---but, darn, they looked really cute! We ladies learn that beauty is pain very early in our lives.....Here's one of our fave and fab fashionistas, Rihanna, trying to bring it back...found on FabSugarIf you want to cop a pair, Saks has these blister babies for $195. But, you better hurry, they are selling fast...What do you think? more at twiigs.co... More About: Sandals , Alert , Trend

2008-04-16 06:46:00 Happy Wednesday!Today, I have a special treat for you fab male readers:I have a guest writer today from The Fly Guy Chronicles! I figured that this type of advice would definitely hit home much easier if it came straight from the testosterone's mouth. If you ever wondered why that woman cheated on you, should probably did so because of one the six reasons below...6 Reasons Women CheatYou’re doing all you can to fight back the tears and convince yourself that you won’t be a punk when it comes to this. Yet no matter how much you try to stick to your “manly” guns, you find yourself tossing and turning at night, repeatedly asking this one question… “Why did she cheat on me?” You’ve contemplated several scenarios in an attempt to explain her behavior, yet this whole thing feels more complicated than that Lauryn Hill unplugged album. 2008-04-14 06:34:00 Happy Monday! Here are my finds for the week:SEE: "Fool's Gold: starring Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson This movie was a light comedy with a splash of sexiness--I'm not even referring to Kate Hudson---I am referring to the hunk of manliness God has given us known as Matthew McConaughey. He has all the things I love in a man: a great body, a Southern accent, a rugged handsomeness, a great body, a playful nature, and a great body....If you didn't get my point, here it is: Oh, the movie was good too....LOL! It took some time to get to the actual plot, but when it did, it was a riot. I saw some comedians who I hadn't seen in a while (Kevin Hart, Brian Hooks) and a Cosby kid (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) as villains...and that made the movie more interesting. Overall, it was a light-hearted comedy that will tickle your fancy, but not a gut-busting laugh riot. If you haven't seen it, unfortunately, you have to wait for the June DVD release. It ill be worth it...ladies, rem... More About: April , Week , 2008

2008-04-10 04:44:00 Ok--I know that I'm a wee bit late to post---blame it on the rain--or my home Internet. She bangs, she bangs....
2008-04-08 13:22:00 Looking for a new do this Spring? Well, I have a bangin' do for you--how about some bangs? While the Beyonce-licious weaves were all the rage last year, short styles and bangs are what's in this year. In other words, you can actually wear your real hair *smirk , smirk* this year....well, at least in the front.....The straight bang cut is a classic. First, let's start with member of the five-head club, myself being included:Tyra Banks: although she's America's most well known supermodel, even she can have bad hair days--but they can all be prevented by covering her dome with some simple bangs...Christina Ricci: note to Christina--please keep this hairstyle! It complements her diamond shaped face and deep set eyes. Just say NO to pulled back hair! When you have an extremely large forehead that makes of the majority of your face, bangs even and balance your facial proportions. Speaking as an official member of the five-head crew myself, I can attest that bangs do make a diffe...
Strictly Fab Find for the Week of April 7, 2008
2008-04-07 13:34:00 I just have one find of the week to report today:LISTEN: "New Amerykah," Erykah BaduNow, this is for post-revolutionary, die-hard neo-soul, urbane folks of a new social conscious though...blah, blah, blah....whateva label you put on it, its a great album. Ms. Badu returns to her early days, mixing old school with funk and fusion with an millennium twist on each track. A warning for gentle ears: there is some cursing and some other ethnic derivatives (take a guess), so I don't suggest you put it in on blast while you are cruising unless you have the clean version (or just show a complete lack of class and force others to listen to your music with no alternatives because you have your stereo speakers on eardrum shattering high volume).I have been listening to this album for the past few days non-stop and anticipate many more weeks of gorging myself with the sounds of Ms. Badu. Pick it up it you love her style or it you just want to experience something new....Here's Erykah Badu... More About: April , Find , Week , 2008

Things that make you go hmmmm...
2008-04-02 04:15:00 Looky looky what I found on Fashion Week Daily:Amy Winehouse for Cavalli? Buzz builds as Italian designer eyes his next catch Monday, March 31, 2008 (NEW YORK) Amy Winehouse's fashion stock is growing exponentially by the week. After serving as Karl Lagerfeld's muse at Chanel and songstress for Fendi's fashion week bash--and high on the heels of talk of her performing at the Met's Costume Institute gala next month--British reports over the weekend have the petite crooner being courted now by none other than Roberto Cavalli. Specifically, Winehouse wasn't asked to be the face of Cavalli's campaign; rather, the designer was said to simply have offered her the opportunity to wear his designs exclusively for her red carpet appearances and performances. The interest grew, in part, due to Cavalli enthusiast Victoria Beckham, who was said to have commented that Winehouse would be a fitting choice. Cavalli's office was unavailable for comment, but hey, it'... More About: Make , Things

Drinking and Calories: A Man's Got To Drink! When someone tells me “Hey, man, I don’t drink,” my go-to response is, “Buddy, I’ve identified your problem.” Now I usually say that in response to someone who's uptight and in which a little toot of booze now and then might loosen that brick from between that person’s cheeks (that guidance goes for women as well as guys).Everyone knows I drink. I used to bartend, I’ve been in bands - booze comes with the territory. It’s my vice. But I also like to keep myself fit (I don’t compete athletically but I admit I do like to house on the other dads at the neighborhood pool) so I started doing some reading on the calories in booze and wh... Trend Alert: Trenchcoats
More articles from this author:2007-11-05 18:40:00 Although the trench coat is a blazing hot look for this fall, its origins date back to the mid-19th century. The infamous Burberry trench was indeed the first of its type, created for British military soldiers to protect them from the harsh elements while providing pocket space for assorted necessary instruments (Is that a gun in your trench coat or are you just happy to see me?). Its trademarked and unmistakable plaid pattern and gabardine outer layer distinguish the Burberry trench from all others. Ranging from $800 to $2500, these coats are definitely classic and timeless.
