I was asked a year ago to be the beauty expert of a new magazine that goes out to women who are starting a new hormonal therapy treatment. Upon receiving their prescription, they are automatically subscribed to this 4 part magazine, with expert advice in fitness, diet, health, beauty and more. Me? I was lucky to be asked to be a part of! The first issue just came out. When I was first approached about this, they wanted to see a picture of me. Huh? So I sent them one. I got the word back, that sorry, I might be too young for this project. Since when is age an issue for beauty advice? I asked what it was about, and hearing the subject matter, they told me that I was just too young, and they needed experts closer to the reader’s age so they can ‘relate’. Okay, holidays are here, photos taken, dinners eaten, it’s a full day of family, friends, and fun. Just WHO has time to touch up their lipstick? Who actually wants to run to the mirror to see if the perfect lips you applied an hour ago is still there? Nope, not me. I would rather have a good time and not worry. So I took this opportunity to try one of the newer lipsticks that claim to stay put for hours. Enter: the new Loreal’s Infallible Lipcolor. I tried the one in a beautiful mauve color (Color # Thistle 500). The cute thing about this is that it kinda looks like a cigarette case… and one side even has a mirror (well, it’s not really a mirror, more of a metal casing on one side that pretends it’s a mirror… actually the Sally Hansen one (lip gloss with light & mirror) really is.
