While I said most overseas consumers are still buying China -made products, it is a real blow to their ‘support’ when there is another China-made toy called Aqua Dots being recalled. This is because there are several incidences when the children swallowed the beads which are supposed to stick together when wet as a kind of art and craft product. The problem is not so much of the swallowing but because it is suspected that the manufacturer may have substituted a toxic chemical for safe glue in order to cut cost. As a result, after swallowing these beads, the victims will fall into a coma. This brings us back to the sad situation where Chinese sellers are engaging in intense price competition where they try to cut corners and save cost as much as possible. But this should never be at the expense of safety and quality. As far as the latter is concerned, there should not be any compromise.
