LnA Tees

As you know, if you've been visiting Grechen's Closet for any time at all, I am a tee-shirt addict. James Perse is my favorite, by far; I own about 15 different James Perse items, most of them v-neck tees, long or short sleeve. Splendid is also a favorite, they are thicker than James Perse, and a blend of cotton/modal instead of 100% cotton. But lately, I've strayed, and tried out LnA. I got two LnA tees, one deep v-neck and one scoop neck. I love them both; it's easy to see why they're celebrity favorites, because they show a lot of cleavage lol! They are cut VERY deep, but I can mostly get away with it, although at times I have to watch myself when I bend over... The tees are thin, and longer length, which is nice for wearing with jeans, and layering, and this is how I prefer to wear them. I posted about this site several weeks ago, but they've added some new sale items recently, so it's worth a look again. For the month of April, Delight .com is featuring a different eco-friendly goody every day at noon. Today's is a SIGG water bottle. I actually have two of these, one smaller size like this one, and another 1L size. I use the smaller one every time I leave the house (it fits in one of the side pockets of my Gerard Darel bag!), and the larger one when I'm going to be gone a while. I stopped buying bottled water when I bought these, and haven't looked back. I went a little crazy and bought one for everyone I know...they're that cool. Even better, Delight is partnering with Trees for the Future and plant a tree for EVERY sale during April.

Elephant Necklaces

I don't know what it is, I've become enamored with elephants lately. I wouldn't go so far as to say obsessed, but I do love a nice elephant pendant. This one by J Crew is my FAVORITE: And they have a hippo and bird that are also very cute. You can get the whole menagerie for 20% off now (if you spend at least $175) with code SHHH through 3/28! This pendant by Cheeky Monkey is also very nice, but quite a bit more expensive at $219. It's eco-friendly, and made from 100% recycled silver and fair trade sapphires. The message on the back is "stop herding me" to draw attention to the fact that this majestic creature being killed for its tusks by poachers is also finding it increasingly hard to find enough space to roam free.

Neiman Marcus Buy 2 Event

So, seems like Neiman Marcus is trying to compete a bit with Saks Shoe even I posted below, but that's okay, better for us! Here's how I interpret the "rules:" Shoes must be at least $150 each to get the $150 back, Bags must be at least $400 to get the $400 back, and so on. I'm bummed it's not online, but I think I'll make a trip to my store and see what's up tomorrow. But I have to take my checkbook, because I stopped using their credit card...

Saks Shoe Event ($150 GC)

This is a good one...and it's also valid in store. Which is good, because there's not a *great* selection online in my opinion. Anyway, through 3/31, buy two pairs of shoes at Saks Fifth Avenue totaling at least $400, get a $150 gift card. I'm seriously thinking about this one, because $150 is ALMOST a pair of Revas. And, if I can keep my shoe purchases to about $200 a pair, it's totally worth it. Here's what I would buy: Tory Burch Thongs for $195 Kors Thong Sandals for $195 And then, because I'm $10 short of $400, these to make it up cheaply: Havaianas Flip Flops for $15 Not bad if I do say so myself. Problem is, I'm not EXCITED about any of those shoes, so it's not worth it. I'm waiting for a few more days to see if they add new items.

Mike & Chris Nylon

So now that I know I can make it a week without a handbag post, maybe next I should try NOT posting about Mike & Chris either...but I can't help it...they just manage to come up with one or two "must-have" pieces for me every season. For now, it's this nylon hoodie: I love everything about it, the color, the styling, and especially, that the hood is removable (since I'm also on a hoodie ban). I can imaging wearing this over a sundress in the evenings during Summer (or frankly, any time I have to go inside), and then layered for Fall. It's a versatile piece that would fit right into my wardrobe... More places to find Mike & Chris online.

I did it!! I refrained from posting about bags for one week. Well, except for the Hayden Harnett eco-chic tote, but that was for a good cause, so it doesn't count... Tees are so easy to just throw on, but blouses can be too...and they are so much more flattering. This one by M Missoni is out of reach for me at the moment, but I think it would be perfect on me; I love the waist-tie and the vertical stripes.
