Sunday Spaces: It's glitter season!
2007-12-16 23:29:00 This is my first Christmas living away from my family back in Arkansas, and as thus, is my first Christmas with a place of my own to decorate. I have been very naughty this year because even though Frank and I did go tree shopping, we scored zero on the tree hunt. Everything was too big or two small or two bushy. Anyway, then we were planning on going hunting again this weekend when I injured my knee, so I have been all cooped up with nothing to do but stare at my decoration barren apartment.Lucky for me, even if I can't walk I can craft!I found some great inspiration for Christmas decorations last night via How About Orange.Jess posted some great templates and tutorials for 3D paper snowflakes and cool retro ornaments, which fitted perfectly with my already large collection of traditional snowflakes that I have been cutting out all week. If you haven't ever visited Jess over at How About Orange, I highly recommend doing so because it is a really inspiring and fun blog!(this is my... More About: Season , Sunday , Spaces , Glitter

This auction raised over $600 and we were able to sponsor two children. The children originally sponsored were Kyle and Gracie. Kyle was sponsored to have a foster family and Gracie was sponsored to attend preschool. Both children were two years old. I was able to choose a name for Gracie and I choose her name because it means blessed. I feel that it is a blessing we were able to raise so much money for her and Kyle. 2007-12-13 22:10:00 Sorry for the no-post yesterday, I have an excuse, however I am pleased to make a couple of short but exciting announcements!Number 1.I HAVE A WEDNESDAY THEME!Yep, every hump-day I will be posting fashion finds, advice, and whatnot.Even though I blew my interview at FIT just to stay with my boyfriend back home(not too bright cuase he dumped me a day later lol. What can I say, I was 19!) doesn't mean I don't love fashion still! So if you have any questions or input about clothing, accessories, or just links I would love a comment!Number 2.As some of you may have noticed Moda.Zen has had a make-over!Now it's easier to find what you are looking for with the handy"TOPICS" bar on your right. And where did all those links go?Don't worry Moda.Zen is still one of the best resources for over 100 creative entertainment, shopping, culture, and lifestyle links but now they have their own page, which brings me to my 3rd and final announcement!Number 3.The Moda.Zen Links Page is here!right now... Top 10 Christmas Albums of All Time!
2007-12-11 15:42:00 Sorry for the delay in "Monday movies and music"but one of the bonuses of being a nanny is I get to be exposed to all sorts of nasty germs, so I have been sick the past few days. Today I have my Green Ginsing and Honey Tea, Echinacea and oatmeal by my side, so I am pushing through! This week we are counting down the best holiday albums.Thank you all for your input on last weeks part one.And to fix my apparent oversight of Rodolph the Red Nose Reindear, I have added it and a few others to the honorable mentions! There are a lot of good Christmas albums and songs out there, so it was very hard to nerrow this down. But after an entire day of listening to album after album, not to mention subjecting poor old Frank (he says he can't lsiten to it when it's so warm out)to my Christmas Pandora playlist and the radio throughout the week, I have finally decided on the list.So Here is my list of the Top 10 Holiday Albums .Honorable Mentions:N*Sync-Home For ChristmasChristina Agulaira- My Kind O... A new idea...
2007-12-05 16:06:00 Well I decided against "Web-vid Wednesday." The idea was too contrived and not really relevant to this blogs purpose. I realized on my conclusion that many of you may not know the actual idea behind this blog. To put it simply, this blog is about independent creativity and style.Think of it as a hodgepodge of creative inspiration and resources in blog form and written by one person with virtually no budget or time. Lol, not too glamorous eh?I am writing all this post, basically to ask for help, input, advice, and most of all patience. Here is my format thus far...Monday-movies/music MondayTuesday- tasty! (Cooking ideas, recipes, etc...)Wednesday- UNKNOWNThursday- thrifty! (shopping and deals)Friday- Features (other bloggers, artists, etc)Saturday service- (philanthropy and good causes)Sunday- "spaces" (home and interior design and decor)I was toying with the idea of making Wednesday a day tohighlight craft and diy projects from either my own work,or just whatever i find on the net (... Tasty Tuesday- Veggie Stuffing Bake
2007-12-04 22:10:00 Tasty Tuesday s So on Tuesday I thought it would be cool to dedicate a post To one of my favorite hobbies?.Cooking! I am always experimenting in the kitchen, and luck for me Frank never complains. In fact he is a pretty good guinea pig for New recipes, for instance, the time I made sweet squash and onions- He took 2 bites, which meant it was edible but not particularly tasty. The night I made grilled chicken with sautéed mushrooms, green and Red bell peppers, and onions with garden rotini and garlic Alfado, he Cleaned his plate before I the first commercial (We watch CBS like old Farts, with our dinner. I blame Dougie Howser). One casserole I made recently got a surprising clean plate as well. I call it ?Veggie Stuffing Bake? Ingredients: Fresh Zucchini and Summer Squash- 1 of each, sliced ¼ inch thin Fresh Parmesan Cheese- ½ cup, grated 1 cup monetary/Colby cheese blend (grated) 1 red onion, diced 1 box of cornbread stuffing mix (I used the cheapest...
