Tag and I'm it!
2008-03-11 17:54:00
So my lovely friend over at Mikiye Creations tagged me with this little game where I have to name 7 random facts about myself.Well I'm not too terribly interesting but I will try to think of something.1. Most of my early childhood was spent in Juneau, AK where my dad was a pastor.2. I was home-schooled, however I am not a religious fundamentalist nor a good speller.3. My favorite flavor of ice-cream is mint chocolate chip.4. I really don't like Snickers candy bars.5. I have a secret obsession with tea and drink it English style almost every day.6. I play guitar and piano (rather poorly).7. I once porn star, Ron Jeremy, at a media conference. Now it's my turn to tag 7 more people! So I'm tagging Meghan, Lisa, Jerusalem, Jemimah, me mum, me da, and Teaforbini! Here are the rules:If you chose to play, here's how this game of tag goes:1. Link to the tagger.2. Share 7 random or weird facts about yourself.3. Tag 7 people, post their names and links to their blogs on your blog.4. Tell th...

Italy? New York? My parents?
2008-02-22 20:57:00
So as some of you know, and most of you don't, Frank and I decided to take some time apart. We both feel like we have separate paths to follow at the moment, but we have resolved to remain friends. We had been talking about different ways of making it work for a while, but we eventually agreed to part ways on good terms and see what happens later. With that said, yes I am very sad, but I am not a mess, nor is he. We really feel this is what we are supposed to do, however now that I am single and not attached I am confronted with a new set of problems. The big ones are what to do with the Dogs (Frank is keeping the cat but can't have dogs at his new place) and I am staying with my parents until I figure out what my next move is, so I can't have both of them. My sister is willing to have a "trial" with Lola and her dog Chloe so cross your fingers.Brutus is a toughly though because he is so athletic and with my plans being up in the air I am really at a loss as to what I am going to ...

6 year old hero and eggs over medium
2008-02-07 05:22:00
I have always had an independent streak, or in my case maybe it?s a mile. I found my voice early in life, a precocious child, some would say. Alright, well I would say. When I was six I accompanied my parents and probably a sibling or two, to the airport to send off the Baptist summer missionaries that frequented Juneau. They would come from exotic sounding places like ?Nashville? and ?Fort Lauderdale? to work for a summer at church camps or to build churches for the ever growing, but hardly evolving Southern Baptists. As we walked across the buzzing parking lot of the air-port, toward the lobby (in those days before 9/11 airports had beautiful lobbies, fine dining, and most importantly toy stores open to the general public) my mother told me to hold her hand. I made Jackson family history with a brilliant one-liner ?I hold my own hand? followed closely by another now famed phrase ?my-by-self.? Later in life, this self assuredness would evade me, as almost all early habits do, w...

I think my doodles are probably inspired by London and its incredible diversity and history. It really is impossible to be bored in this city is just so full of colour .Why do you do what you do? What are you trying to accomplish or say?I really hate generic accessories. It is just so emblematic of our mass-produced consumerist culture. I really want people to have something unique, made b...

What To Wear- 5 fashion Rules for Any Occasion.
2008-01-03 03:30:00
What To Wear 5 fashion rules for any occasion.(photo from adorn magazine)It's 7:36 PM and you still haven't done your hair, your make-up, or even picked out jewelry. Why? Because, just like any other woman with a function to attend you have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO WEAR!Sure you had a dress picked out two months ago, but the shoes you bought don't look as good as they did last week and your new hair cut has completely change your whole look. DON'T PANIC. Just breathe. Most women (and some men) have experience what I like to call "fashion anxiety" before an important event, however this stress is usually unnecessary. Bellow is a list of tips to help calm your pre-event panic.1.Don't look for the perfect dress-The perfect dress is rarely what you have in mind. Ask any bride if her dress is what she originally planned and most of the answers will be "No, but it's better!"Besides if you are shopping for one particular kind of dress you will most likely pay too much and miss out on dres...

A new Blog
2008-01-01 01:57:00
So I have decided to create a new blog fully devoted to music, mostly found on sites like myspace, purevolume and reverbnation. So this weeks Monday Movies & Music post is really just a thinly vailed attempt to increase readership of the Myspace Music Blog !It's still in it's very early stages so be patient as the kinks get worked out!(note: if you came by earlier and some posts were missing, or the site kept rearranging, my apologies. Feedburner's code decided to mess up my template and it took me forever to figure out how to fix it!)Thanks for reading the Feed!

Hot Chocolate Recipe
2007-12-19 00:18:00
Yesterday on Martha Stewart she played old segments of cooking with her mother. So that inspired me to getsomething from my mother for todays Tasty Tuesday post.Every year mom makes hot cocoa mix and puts it in one of those giant Christmas tins and whenever anyone needs a cup they just pop open the tin and dip the mix then ad hot water! So much better than those little store bought packs, plus its great for gifts! Just put it in a jelly jar with a cloth top and cute tag!Note: this makes enough cocoa to last all holiday and then some for at least 6 people!Hot Cocoa Mix 1 25 pound box of Nonfat dry Milk 1 32 oz powdered Sugar 1 16 oz Non Dairy Creamer 1 32 oz Instant Chocolate Flavored Drink Mix 1 8 oz Cocoa PowderThanks for reading the Feed!

Monday M& M new years top 15 list
2007-12-17 21:09:00
Monday Movies and Music15 Artists and Bands for the new yearIn no particular order here are a few of my favorite musical artists that I spent some time listening to, or in some cases actually hanging out with in 2007.Some of them you will recognize, some of them you may not but each is a real gem. Hope you enjoy!1. Sufjan StevensThis guy brings a whole new sound to music. Combine incredible lyrics with heart pumping marching band influenced rock and you have a one man genius. Not to mention the Grammy worthy production quality.2. The FormatInviting harmonies with lots of "oh la la's" and witty content, sometimes ambiguous in nature flow from Nate, Sam and the guys in a crashing orchestral nature. Heartbreakingly poignant "Dog Problems" is by far my favorite album of any band on the list.3. Regina SpektorFresh. Story telling at its best, Regina Spektor isn't for everyone and that is the best part. She combines modern pop sensibility with classical backgrounds, throw in a bunch of qu...

Monday Music- Kristy Kruger
2007-12-17 16:10:00
Monday Music -Kristy KrugerLast Friday as I lay gimp on my couch, looking for something to distract me from my useless existence I flipped on the telle and came across the tail end of an in studio performance onGood Morning Texas. I don't normally watch that show but the girl singing immediately caught my attention and then harder still, kept it. Then they promptly ended the show with no credits or name, thank God for the internet! I looked her up on the site and found out her name is Kristy Kruger and she is brilliant! She's like an angsty blend of some of my favorites but completely unique and original. Basically she is exactly what I wish I would be!Plus she has a pretty touching story to tell. But I won't spoil it, half of what makes new music great is discovering it yourself! So go, go discover Kristy Kruger! If you like Rilo Kiley, Lucinda Williams, Rachael Yamagata, or Fiona Appleyou will probably love Kristy Kruger.Check her out on myspaceThanks for reading the Feed!
